Young George Ratings and Reviews
Young George is consistently great! My only gripe was our table location - directly opposite the door. It was a windy night so each time the door opened we got a blast of cold air. And it was a busy night so the door was opening a lot. Next time I'll request another table. Amazing otherwise :)
Beautiful food, nothing could be faulted. The staff were friendly and informative about the menu and drinks . The time between dishes was perfect. The only criticism, as the restaurant filled, it became really noisy and hard to have a conversation as your own table.
The Restaurant has a great ambience, casual but classy. The food is interesting and what we tried was delicious. Certainly will be back for more. The wine list is excellent . Our waitress was knowledgeable ,could guide us on tastes we wanted. Overall a special dining experience without being extravagantly cost wise, in fact great value.
Innovative & creative food, great choice, great service, great value, friendly efficient and pleasant staff. Positive experience. Only negative was quiet conversation was not possible but heh, it was Sunday lunchtime and exceptionally full house busy. Doesn't that say it all.
All tapas food very tasty, though found the chicken wings not the best, very small. Emu dumplings very yum. Need to book a table, even on a Tues PM as does get very busy. Drinks quite expensive when buying bottle of wine, cheapest around $50. Service pretty good. Would go back for lunch.
Had a great meal (as always), this is a go to restaurant for a night out without our kids. Food is amazing, great beer and wine menu, service is great staff very helpful and know what they are talking about. I know menu changes often - i would love to see a couple more seafood options in the share section, but love the meat options! Actually even if there was no meat we could eat all the salads!
Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was!!!
The cocktail jugs were both delicious and great value. Our Waiter was attentive, witty and knowledgable. We left the ordering up to him and his selections were on point!
Will be finding occasions to go here!!
Young George is lovely. The food is delicious but what let it down this time was the service. I had booked a table and arrived but it wasn't suitable for my kids as it was too high. Was moved to another table without issue, however, I wasn't told that the rest of my party had arrived and were seated around the corner in an area I couldn't see. I only found out they were there after calling them given they were late. We ordered our drinks and were not asked if we'd like to order our food, we had to flag the waitress down to order. Our food came out and I was missing my dish, after waiting patiently for 10 mins I asked where it was and I was told that we'd only ordered what we had already which wasn't the case. The waitress had taken order without writing it down and repeated it back to us. She had obviously forgotten to enter my dish. No apology, I was just told that it would be another 10 mins. When mine finally arrived there was again no apology and everyone else had finished eating. My kids then asked for a muffin and went up to the counter (with my father) to order one as I told them they could share. Dad orderded one and the waitress brought out 2 so this had to be corrected as well.
Lovely place, lovely food but I hope the service improves.
Been twice now & service whilst friendly it is their weakest point by far. Seem to be always trying to catch someone's eye either for food or drink service & both times sat right opposite the bar, but whilst staring straight at me the bar staff seemed oblivious. My friend was 10 mins early & said she felt the same. Staff walk past the table but aren't looking to see if you need anything every time. Not once did anyone ask if we needed anything we were always looking for them!! Sorry!
