Fab and really interesting food. It took a while to be given the drinks list but thereafter service was really great and unusually for a soho restaurant really felt relaxed and under no pressure to hurry for them to turn tables. The acoustics may need some thought as it felt loud downstairs but as we were close to the door maybe that didn't help.
Not cheap but definitely memorable and would love to return.
Great spot. We loved everything we ordered. Starters are amazing and good to share. We had octopus and sea bass as main which were perfectly cooked and delicious. We hope to be back soon.
I’d give the food 6 stars if I could.
Spectacular flavours - traditional and enterprising. It was an exceptional dining experience. The fish and the artichoke dishes are a must.
Especially loved the choice of wine glasses, very clever to ensure the bouquet was enjoyed.
Don’t go if you’re looking to pig out - as it’s not that type of restaurant.. it’s a dining experience to be savoured.
Simply wonderful. Sublime food and exemplary service. Give it a try as it's a great experience.
Our visit to Yeni far exceeded all our expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the decor is cool right from the doorway. Their food is out of this world. We have started with small sharing plates and kept on ordering. Then we had beef ribs and lamb shank as main course. Both were impeccably seasoned, cooked to perfection and incredibly delicious. To finish the meal, we had crisp pastry and pudding fritters with house made ice cream which were rich and delicious. Staff were amazing and friendly. They helped us with the menu and took care of anything we needed. This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had...
Delicious food and stunning location. We had an amazing experience.
He’s the food superstar of Turkey. Strongly recommended
To begin the food is delicious. Everything we ordered, and we had just about the whole menu, was fantastic.
That said, the service was abysmal. Kudos to Open Table on this one. The hostess literally shooed my husband away when we asked for a table. We all went down the block searching for a restaurant to eat, opened the AP and made a reservation for a table to sit 10 minutes later. Thank you Open Table! But seriously the staff was confused and the drinks were always delayed.
The food was good. The service was extremely patchy - only got served after we got up to ask someone to come to the table, then 45 min wait between starters and mains. One nice but harried waiter, two behind the bar polishing glasses looking on. Promised conversation with the manager never materialized. Insanely, ear-splittingly loud. All hard surfaces, thumping music. Arms race of volume resulting in shouting among guests, to be heard. I went to this location when it was under previous ownership and I know it’s possible to run a restaurant in this place without doing this. In an era where smart restauranteurs are padding their ceilings for better acoustics, this was a bizarre and painful throwback. Worst restaurant experience we’ve had for a while.
Should be an amazing place on paper but food don’t live up to expectations and very expensive for what it was. Small portions, no surprising flavors and left us feeling disappointed although ambiance is nice
Great way to spend a birthday lunch with authentic food made from fabulous ingredients. Exceedingly tasty vegetable, meat and fish dishes
Great vibe excellent food
Beautifully done place in a great location. The food was tasty but the portion sizes incredibly small and the price level very high. Having dined at the Istanbul branch of Yeni many times, the portion size and price ratio here was disappointing.
Finally a Turkish restaurant with great cocktails, contemporary spin and a great atmosphere. Love it
Outstanding food in a romantic environment. A pinch of rustic in an elegant dish. Simply perfect.
As a single person, I felt very well looked after - unlike in some restaurants where you can feel that you are not such a valuable customer. I particularly liked the herb fritters - absolutely delicious.
Was forced to pay discretionary 12.5 % service charge instead of 5% I already offered. Waiter returned to state the payment was missing in front of my date!!!
Fantastic quality of food, very cosy place
Great food. Good people. had a date night and a table of 6 guests nearby meant we couldn't hear each other.
Absolutely loved this restaurant! My fiancé and I had been meaning to eat here for a while and when we finally did the food was amazing. Truly some of the tastiest food we've had in Central London and that's saying a lot. The service was also great and the vibe was very relaxed and intimate. Lived up to it's Sister Restaurant in Istanbul.
Delicious modern spin on some great Turkish foods. Well presented restaurant and decent service.
Would happily go back.
The food was very good. The decor very tasteful. The staff were friendly. But not worth of five stars unfortunately on this visit. The service needs improving. We had to chase initial drinks order twice, there was an hour delay between starters and main courses arriving (which were unfortunately tepid when they did arrive) and our waiters didn’t really look after us but rather only came when we managed to get their attention. And on top of that it was rather expensive. We knew that it was pricey and for that reason had higher expectations of food and service.
Amazing service and great food. Get a carafe instead of wine by the glass though, otherwise it can get really pricey. Food is phenomenal and well worth the price. Service was outstanding. And absolutely have the turkish wines!
Absolutely delicious food, but there was long wait times between courses which let the place down a little. I would deffo go back however and try all the other amazing dishes
Really nice ambiance, and good accoustics. Everything we ordered had interesting flavours and was well prepared. Would definitely go back!
Lovely setting, gorgeous authentic food and friendly staff
Nice atmosphere right near Carnaby street. Lovely ambiance, delicious food, and friendly staff. Good for a date or a meet up with a friend or two.
This restaurant is a great addition to the area. The food is superb and the service is friendly and helpful. I was initially told that we'd have to order from tasting menu for a table of more than 5 people, but they allowed us to do a la carte when requested beforehand (because we had time constraint).
The only problem I could see is that while they say their food is meant for sharing, they really are not. I wish they'd make easier to share platter, but this is a common problem with so many restaurants nowadays.
Loved Yeni. The service was so friendly and genuine. The food was delicious. The meat on the ribs feel apart when touched with a fork and it was served with beautiful strong sauce and yet the meat flavour also shone through. The octopus has a great charcoal flavour and perfectly cooked, I only wish the pieces were bigger or there was more if it! The beetroot dish delicious, the breads dish yum yum. The herb fritters really interesting. Wine selection very good. We had a great time, and I loved the fact that it was busy but you could easily talk without load music or guest so crammed in that made you have to shout to hear the person across the table from you. Definitely worth visiting and I recommend booking
Wonderful food and very knowledgeable waiter.
We visited for the first time, and loved it ! Excellent food and good wine.
While the service was also very good, my heart sinks every time a waiter "explains" to me that they have a "sharing" concept - which generally is followed by the warning that dishes will come out of the kitchen as and when they are ready. Surely then, there is not much point in differentiating between mains and starters ? And many of the "mains" are not actually suitable for sharing, for example duck leg.
Nonetheless, we really enjoyed our evening, it is a lovely restaurant overall, and I will be back !
Great people and great food.
Great ambience😊 loved food and everything. Will come back..
Lovely meal amazing pudding only problem was the feta arrived after the main course. Will definitely be back.
Excellent interpretation of traditional Turkish food. The service is great, but could be a bit quicker!
Our experience was overall great, except the hostess who interrupted our meal one hour after we had sat down to tell us she needed the table back. We were a bit surprised by this since I had a confirmation for two hours on the booking. After having a conversation with her she said it was her mistake, although, I don't think she would have amended it unless I had spoken to her. It looked from their ipad that they had overbooked and probably wanted us out to accommodate other people.
I would still go back and recommend this restaurant becuase the food was outstanding and the atmosphere great
Absolutely delicious food with attentive service and a great atmosphere. Winner.
We were a party of 4 and were able to try most of the menu. Very distinctive tastes for each dish served. Incredibly delicious. An interesting interpretation of Turkish cuisine, not a remodeling of what exists but reinvention of combinations and styles.
The beer selection, the cocktails and the Turkish wine selection is also remarkable.
Very chilled atmosphere with the right volume of music.
Service was very efficient and friendly. The chef visited our table to greet us.
And the value for quality is fantastic! Very affordable prices.
Had 6 starters and 2 mains shared between 4, which I think was too much food but each dish was outstanding; the flavours delicate, the plating sophisticated. Especially loved the beetroot and
the lamb shank. It’s on the expensive side but I would definitely recommend this restaurant
My Michelinstar new reastaurant literally like the translation of his original name “Yeni”
