Yellow Ratings and Reviews
Firstly we felt rushed, it was hot inside we requested to move outside, Greg the waiter smashed the wine glass on our table, the matching wine was bought out twice we pulled them up on it.. it wasn’t the best experience and defiantly won’t be going back for that kind of service at $200/head!
At least I can say I’ve tried it and tell people of my experience.
The food here is a beautiful, thoughtful, fine dining twist on vegetarian food, we had the 7 course degustation menu which was great value and lovely
In the main, the service was aloof and unfriendly, we felt unwelcome, we had to ask what the dishes were several times because the delivery was rushed and disinterested, among many other small things that made the dining experience less lovely than it could have been.
Fantastic meal! Three of us had the 7 course degustation with matching wines/non alcoholic drinks. Each course was a pleasure unto itself. The staff were knowledgable and educational, maintaining a professional but light hearted interaction throughout the meal while also leaving our table to its own conversation.
It was a pleasure to eat at a restaurant that has no qualms about manifesting it's own unique identity, a willingness to be inventive and creative without sacrificing the basics.
The staff were excellent and the food was very interesting. I wouldn't say I loved the food but it was good. All of the dishes are very bizarre and my taste buds just weren't sure what to think. It was a lovely place though with an excellent atmosphere for a fancy Friday date night.
Fantastic service, fantastic drinks and most importantly fantastic food! I hate eggplant and they made it taste phenomenal in one of their dishes. The juice parings with our tasting menu were so on point it was out of this world. There was so much harmony.
Staff made you feel welcome and handled our tables requests with ease.
The atmosphere was warm, friendly and relaxed. The music played was really good, it had everyone in a great mood
We've been to Yellow for my girlfriend's birthday; it was great!
We took the 5 courses degustation menu: beautiful visually, in texture and in taste. the cocktails were great as were the wines. special touch from the staff after we were done with dessert; an extra sweet delicacy with a candle for the occasion. Staff was impeccable, atmosphere was great. Highly recommended address
This is an ideal special occasion restaurant.....and especially great as it's pure veggie but not heavy veggie but light, innovative, inventive and above all really tasty. For the non alcoholic drinkers they will even match fruit juices to each course which was fabulous for our 15 year old daughter. The venue is cool and the staff fun attentive but not intrusive. This place is passionate about bringing great veggie food to their patrons...at last thank you...not inexpensive though but worth it
My wife and I had a very enjoyable 5 course vegetarian meal with a well recommended American chardonnay. The food and wine were excellent. The environment was loud and the service rushed and inconsistent. I had a unfortunate seat which moved every time stood on the floorboard behind it. My seat was also bumped regularly by the staff during the meal. Replied it was a special occasion when booking however no mention on the night. Yellow need to bring ambience and service up to level of food.
We came to Yellow for a small, informal birthday dinner for my cousin, who is a vegetarian. The food is designed to share, which makes for a wonderful, intimate experience, and it's absolutely memorable and delicious food to boot. The staff were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable about the food and so friendly. Definitely the standout dish was the eggplant and corn, but it's very much Sophie's Choice when trying to pick the best dish on the menu--let's just say the eggplant and corn was the first among equals.
Had an absolutely fabulous time. The food was outstanding and the wine matches complimented the dishes so well. I personally am a meat eater, however I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant for anyone. Each dish had a variety of flavours that balanced out so well and were a symphony of different tastes that delighted the tongue.
The staff here are so friendly and helpful, they all have a deep understanding of each dish and completely add to the dining experience.
5-dish vegan menu, tasty and balanced. Small portions though (tasting menu), but very different from one to the other. The only downside: the dessert (very good) was way too big in comparison with the other dishes. I felt really full afterwards but could have been smaller. Otherwise, really good experience and great service!!
THe food and service were very good. I was disappointed that more wines were not made available for per glass consumption.
Unfortunately a very loud table came in about half way through our service - they were so loud shouting etc that we got out of the restuarant as soon as we possibly could - that kind of ruined the night
