Yea Peppercorn Hotel
Good food, good wine, good friends in a lovely atmosphere with friendly, attentive service. So good that I returned the next day on my own for lunch to try other items on the menu! Once again, the same friendly and attentive service and the eye fillet steak I ordered was up to all expectations. I have dined here each time I have visited Yea over the past nine or ten years and have never been disappointed.
Great service , both wait staff were super friendly and very helpful. Food was great as usual. A really lovely country pub. Wish it was bit closer to home.
We had a very nice meal at the Peppercorn. Even though it was really busy the service was quick and friendly and the food was great. The place has a great decor, very good local wines and craft beers. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Great food, nice wines and lovely table service. Unfortunately a large, noisy group of parents and children next to us made conversation difficult. Also, paying the bill took quite a while.
This is the second time we have tried this venue & both times have been great.
Quality food prepared by a great chef.
Great atmosphere 7 even better service.
Will definitely be back again.
Lovely decor, so cosy. Was a great atmosphere. Friendly service and beautifully delicious food. Will certainly be back.
We had a very enjoyable night out. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was good without being outstanding. Happy to recommend the restaurant to others looking for a decent night out in the Yea area.
All 4 people in our dining group loved their meal. We will all be returning. Great friendly service staff.
Had a really lovely 2 nights at the peppercorn hotel. Lovely meals, good value for money.
We went to Peppercorn Yea hotel for a celebratory birthday dinner with friends of ours. Dinner was excellent. We have had many a dinner there and food is always delicious. It was a very busy night and if I were to critique anything it was delivery of our drinks were a little slow but overall service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and apologetic of any delay. I would highly recommend anyone to make a booking for a meal at this hotel.
Delicious steak, well-paired with local wine in a gorgeous setting!
At $40 ... a restaurant needs to know how to cook steaks. Sadly mine was overcooked - I especially said "rare/med rare ... and if you are going to make a mistake please go more rare. Steak was already the last dish delivered and we were time poor as heading back to melb so I asked that they not redo.
They came back and dropped a completely blue steak (barely grilled ... not rested) on the table - said "see how that goes" and walked off without looking at me.
Really surprising and disappointing - have not been made to feel this uncomfortable at a restaurant in a long time.
If you go ... don't order the steak if you care about how it is cooked.
We received excellent service from the staff. Our meals were delicious. A table near the fire place and fantastic ambience. We highly recommend Yea Peppercorn Hotel. We found a terrific little lounge bar behind the main dining room. We will definitely be back again.
Great staff the girls working were lovely and very helpful. Menu is excellent and food was great. Also a great choice of wine and beer.
We took my Father to Peppercorn Hotel for Fathers Day.
We used to drive through Yea on the way to Eildon so very familiar.
A lovely Hotel with very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Food was great.
We will return
The staff are very attentive and caring.
Above expectation and very much appreciated
It was just a last minute decision to stop in for dinner on our way to Melbourne.
Now we have to think of a reason to revisit Yea so we can go back!!
Food was great!
Customer service excellent!
I can't wait to try more items from their menu as it all sounded so good & looking at plates being served to other tables it definitely got my taste buds going.
Booking online last minute is also a great feature.
We may have to attend one of their Music or Tasting events as they sound terrific also.
The awards that they have achieved are well deserved.
See you again soon.
Tom & Cindy.
Lovely staff ; great and cozy setting on cold day ; fabulous food. Couldn’t have had a more enjoyable lunch . Would definitely dine here again - highly recommended
Had a lovely relaxed lunch beside the wood burner , so cosy. Food was good, coffee was great. Thanks to staff very pleasant indeed!
Loved the décor of the Peppercorn Hotel. A staff member kindly told us the history of the hotel which we enjoyed listening to. If you like to sit by the wood fire having a relaxed lunch this is the place for you. The chilli and garlic prawn dish was very tasty. Our friends also commented how much they enjoyed their chicken parma. We all commented how we'd love to sit in the bar area and enjoy a drink on their comfy couches.
Always such a treat to come for dinner, food is always delicious with a great array of menu options. Such a warm ambience everytime.
The seafood platter did not represent value for money. We paid for the meal with a gift voucher for $100 and the bill came to $93. When I went back and asked what happened to, difference I was told that I wouldn't be refunded the $7. I could use a $7 dollar discount on the next occasion.
There won't be a 'wont next time ' and as a local resident I can only pass my recommendation to others.
No more gift vouchers and no meals or patronage at the Peppercorn
We dined at the Peppercorn for Mothers Day, table of 8 with 2 very small children and 2 older children and were very impressed. Food to keep all tastes happy, lovely wine list, great value for money. Service was exceptional even though it was busy. We were happy and fed well and will be back.
The Peppercorn Hotel is a nice restaurant lovely food and good friendly staff
Original Spåtzle - nicely done! Didn't think I would be getting real homemade ones so was nicely surprised - thank you for a lovely evening.
Very enjoyable meal and attentive staff. Good ambience and great place to come after a ride.
Only complaint meals are way to big, there is no need for such huge meals, as left over wasted and I've paid money for food that I'm not going to be able to eat. I had a seafood platter for 1
Food was very tasty, steaks were correctly cooked, & meals came promptly. Good selection on the menu & the wine list was pleasing, especially with an emphasis on more local wines. Great rustic décor & friendly, attentive service.
Sunday lunch with my partner, drove from Chirnside park and had a major detour due to roadworks.
Ordered Cheesey garlic bread, ribeye steak (medium).Fillet steak (medium). First of all the cheesey bread had NO cheese on it and very little garlic.
Steaks arrived in good time, partners steak was perfect, mine however was overcooked to the point of being grey in the middle. Waitress said she would replace it. Meanwhile partner was tucking into her desert. Eventually my replacement steak arrived and was perfect.
Loved the ambiance of the place, would we come again? Not sure about that.
The venue and food were great. Unfortunately the service was unwelcoming and lacking. At no stage were we asked if we wanted a drink or to view the drinks menu. Maybe because we were dining with 3 young kids? The waitress dropped some of my child’s meal, about 2 nuggets and some chips so not a big deal, however she apologised and said she would replace them and never did. Disappointing.
Wonderful food lots of choice and lashing of food. Great ambience and very accommodating waiters and staff. Will be back.
I gave 2 stars because the eye fillet was medium to well done when I ordered it medium rare. It came with veggies which were very tasty but not a lot on the plate. Children's cheesy pasta I thought was a take on a mac and cheese. All my son got was boiled pasta with a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Definitely not $9 worth. Beers were good. Since there are other pubs in town I'll be trying them them first before returning to this one.
loved it! Nice food and atmosphere at a good price
We had a wonderful evening with great food, great wine and great company.
What a surprise. Lovely place to have dinner thoroughly enjoyed our evening staff amaxing. Tables not close together which is great & fantastic food. We will stop there again during our travels
Excellent people and food and value for money. Owners and managers very acomodating and helpful. Very nice town in very nice area in a nice part of VIC. Garden room was very large and very comfortable. Good provisions for self made continental breakfast and no sweat to do it.
The food was delicious. I especially loved the Israeli salad which was a surprise choice on the menu. The service was attentive - just right. We had a somewhat noisy family on the table next to us, but all in all it was well worth the drive from Melbourne.
I have been visiting Yea for the past ten years on a regular basis and always make a point of having lunch or dinner at the Peppercorn on each occasion. I have never been disappointed with the food and I love the atmosphere. It's opposite the old historic railway station which is interesting in itself and the Peppercorn was the old Railway Hotel many decades ago.
Great peaceful environment with wonderful food and relaxing drinks lounge
Really enjoyable afternoon! Beautiful surroundings, lovely staff & service, delicious food!
