Yayla Bistro Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I celebrated her birthday over lunch at Yayla. Everything was first rate -- food, service, ambiance. They allowed us to linger talking for an hour after we finished dining, without rushing us out. My favorite dish is the Branzino, which is grilled to perfection and melts in your mouth. The baklava is a fabulous ending to a delicious meal.
This is a wonderful restaurant -- very authentic Turkish food, with an excellent variety of dishes for all kinds of palates. You could just dine on the mezze alone and have a wonderful meal, but then you'd miss all the great entrees. If you want to enjoy the food but want a little less "energy" (that is, a quieter experience), eat in the bar area. Same menu.
Yayla's had been recommended and it lived up to its hype. The staff was friendly and attentive and helped us make decisions. The Adana was absolutely delicious and I was pleased it came with an option of fresh vegetables instead of rice or bulgur. The baklava was among the best I ever tasted -- in Turkey or out. My friend had the mucver and loved it. Our appetizers were also very good (halloumi cheese and grilled calamari). It's a place I'll be returning to!
We met friends for dinner on Fathers' Day and it was noisier than usual. We shared the Mezze Platter for 4, which was delicious. We also shared an order of chicken kabobs and another of lamb patty (not sure what this one was called), also very tasty.
We'll go to this restaurant again soon!
The food was great... Almost everything we get on the table were delicious. Except for lentil soup. It was still not bad.. But it could be better.Service was very fast, servers were very kind and understand what you want... I can give 8, out of 10. Missing two points are one from the Lentil Soup. The other point from the price. The prices are a little bit overpriced...
But overall it was a good dinner ... I'll be back and recommend to friends...
Three of us is met for drinks at Yayla's . We were able to get there early enough to grab one of the outdoor tables. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. Right away they delivered a puffy flat bread with a tangy kalamata olive spread. We ordered several Mediterranean items to share and especially enjoyed the homemade baba ghanoush and lahmacun. The one of us who had traveled to Turkey said the food took him back there and is very authentic. I saw they have pita wraps for lunch and am going back next week!
Four of us had a lovely Saturday evening dinner, our first visit. We will definitely return. Service was gracious and attentive. Dining room was full and lively, but it's a smallish place so it wasn't too loud. Food was yummy! We shared a roasted red pepper and feta spread as an appetizer, served with fantastic flavorful flatbread. We also had grilled calamari -- very vinegar-y and a bit chewy, some liked it better than others. Two of us had the special entree, a beef/lamb combo -- shaved like traditional gyro meat, served over cubes of flatbread and garlic yogurt. It was absolutely delicious, and the portions were huge. One of us had shrimp in lemon butter sauce with bulgur pilaf, also very good (but the special was better). Our fourth entree, a spicy beef kabob, was good but nothing special. For dessert we split excellent baklava and a cinnamon-infused caramel custard (like flan) that was lick-the-plate delicious.
