Have visited prior to lockdown with family on several occasions, and always excellent, this time though was disappointing. The gravy cold, pie crust hard and my partners meal was off-putting with steak uncuttable and raw.

Ordering drinks was totally fine but food seemed to be very complicated to order and took nearly an hour to make 2 kids meals and 2 baguettes, when they arrived they were dry, looked like it had been thrown onto plate, we returned and didn’t pay for the food that we didn’t eat.
One kids meal was enormous and the other was pretty dry. The place was very empty as well

Great food. The only issue was quite a few menu options were unavailable, I assume this was simply due to the popularity. It didn't affect me as none were vegetarian but I think my date may have wanted the fish - it didn't matter and she had sausages instead which were very nice.

The staff were friendly and polite but there was just not enough of them. Which I totally understand with the covid restrictions but I felt sorry for them. They were run ragged and seemed pretty stressed as they were running out of certain meals, which wasn’t great as there was a pretty limited menu already.

It took over an hour for our main course to come and when it did, it was small portions and only just edible so dessert wasn’t an option. We didn’t complain as it didn’t seem fair on the staff who were trying so hard to keep everyone happy. A lot of customers around us complained about how long food and drinks we’re taking, so we didn’t.

In terms of cleanliness it was spot on. No complaints there at all, we both felt completely safe as there was a good distance between us and every other table. If the food was significantly improved I may consider returning but until then, I will not be going back. It’s a shame as the Woodsman has always been my favourite place to eat.

We arrived to be advised that the kitchen closed at 8 which was the time we booked the table for. They stayed open to serve us and the service was excellent and the food was hot and tasty. Service was first class. Will be going back.

Booked a table on line through opentable but reservations had not been checked by the pub. Luckily we arrived just after opening time and there was no issue with getting a table we also got the table I had requested when booking but this was by of luck as the table had not been reserved for us. Food was very good we enjoyed the Sunday roast a bit slow but worth the wait. Staff friendly and professional.

Been a few times now as I'm new to Leyland and its great food great service friendly staffed brilliant place to go very clean aswell, booked for new year was fully booked but we was late for booking was gutted,
