The restaurant was notified that this was a bday celebration but this was neither confirmed over the phone or in person. Was a little disppointed but thats cool.

Best steak in HK. But service is a bit slow and can be improved. The restaurant is a bit noisy but that has to do with the customers rather than the restaurant.

I recently visited Hong Kong and dined there after reading a favorable review. The ambience and service are excellent. The appetizers we got were quite tasty also. The real disappointment was the steak, which was the signature porterhouse for two. The really attempted to make it like Peter Lugers in NYC (or Wolfgang's in NYC for that matter) but it honestly wasn't close. The steak was overcooked and had a strange flavor. I strongly suspect they freeze the meet and thaw it. It just tasted "old" rather than dry aged.

I spent almost $7000 for 6 persons and there was hardly any service as far as pouring the wine was concerned. The beef was overcooked and that was totally unacceptable in a steak house but no choice as we were not going to wait for another hour for another one. It was my third time there and one of the worst experiences in a steak house ; globally.

Food: soup very delicious; seafood platter very fresh but a bit small; excellent steak.
Dessert: tried several of them, the signature cheesecake is really good, others are nice but outshone by the cheesecake
Service: staff very courteous
Ambience: a bit loud, but still acceptable to me

After visiting, I've repeately thought the taste of steak.
Their attitude to customers was kind.
As soon as I arrived in my country, I recommended the place to my dear people.
I wish I'll visit this restuarant sooner or later.

I’ve been to several WG locations in the states and always had great meals. Steak taste was way off in the HK restaurant and will not return.

Our table was reserved through OpenTable several hours before our meal and we were very well received upon arrival.

Environs are very nice at Wolfgang's just like you'd expect of nice steakhouses in America. There is a nice bar, brown wall decor and nicely spaced white table-clothed tables. Atmosphere is business casual, you may encounter fellow diners in more casual dress attire than you are used to. Credit or blame, whichever way you see it, on Hong Kong's more lax dress code culture when it comes to dining out.

Staff are white shirt and bow tie, attentive and seem to know the ropes for how to serve at a high end steakhouse. As for menu (view online), the focus is mostly on dry-aged steaks with a selection of traditional sides and other non-beef items.

During our meal we enjoyed the NY Sirloin prepared medium rare and served in a sizzling plate with melted butter. This was a enjoyable steak that was grilled well. Would have no problems reordering.

We also had the petite fillet, which was grilled perfectly at medium rare. Steak had perfect colour, texture and tasted delicious. This was an excellent fillet mignon that matched quality and taste of very good steaks eaten in NYC steakhouses in recent years. Side of grilled asparagus was also very good and we enjoyed the mashed potatoes as well.

For dessert we had the signature cheesecake that was as good as any we have found in Hong Kong over the years. Rich, creamy and delicious yes less compact than something like Juniors so no need to worry if you are already a bit full from your steaks. On the evening, we also enjoyed their Old-Fashioned and Fruit of the Forrest mocktail, both of which were very well made.

In the end, this was a very good meal at Wolfgang's, about as close to an authentic New York City steakhouse experience as you are going to find in Hong Kong. We will return probably sooner than later.

Went with my husband for his bday, he didn’t even know there was a Wolfgang in Hong Kong. Perhaps it was cuz we went on a public holiday the restaurant was dead quiet, so ambiance wasn’t as I expected, was hoping it to be a bit more lively but on the up side kitchen probably wasn’t as under pressure... so Food was amazing and we loved it. Service was great. Would definitely go back! Friend recommended the porterhouse steak!! Excellent! Lobster mac n cheese was delicious too! Overall great experience.

There is standard quality at Wolfgang’s in every nations. Wherever we went to NY, JP or HK this time, we always ordered steaks for 2 and German Potato. Definitely will come to visit again!

I like sitting at a bar before dinner, and this restaurant has a quintessential wooden bar that is ideal. Thankfully it wasn't crowded. The restaurant is a typical NY style steakhouse, tables and seating are comfortable, the wine list if well thought out and has great choices, and the food is very good, and the main courses are (I recall) mostly steaks. I'd happily go back again.

Had a friends reunion dinner a few days back. Foodwise it was good however I felt like the porterhouse steaks that I had in the NYC Times Square tasted better. Servicewise would be an okay because one of the dishes that I didn't order was served and the unordered dish showed up on my check. Didn't expect such a minor error would happen at Wolfgang. That's why I give an okay for service.

Very authentic way of American steak preparation, crispy outside and soft inside, aged USDA beef never let you down. Sizzling stone ware plate with melted butter you can still dip your meat into it if you like to cook more.
My suggestion is porter house steak you can choose the size for 2, 3 or 4 people to share.

Heard good things about the restaurant. Didn't live up to expectations or price point at which the restaurant is pitched. Appetizers were great (shrimp cocktail (real US style cocktail sauce!) and crab cakes (lots of crab and not too many bread crumbs)). Steak disappointed. My steak (ordered a sirloin medium) was fatty and the cooking was uneven (some parts rare, some medium well). I sent it back, which met some resistance and confusion. The second attempt was a little better but not much. My wife's steak was very good (well done fillet). Service was spotty - servers very nice but absent. Spent too much time trying to wave them down. Knowledge of menu and steak was wanting. Regrettably, we won't be back. Was hoping to find a good steakhouse as an alternative to the Mandarin Grill. The search continues.......

Fantastic service. Starters a little overpriced. But quality of food across the menu was excellent. Service was awesome. Exceptional service levels by Hong Kong standards.
Too pricey to be a regular haunt (HK$2.5k for two, two glass of wine and shared starter and dessert!) but will definitely be back.

The steak we ordered was Porterhouse as well as the ribeye. They were both done just a little over relative to our liking of medium rare. The portions were abundant and while we had a party of 6, we couldn't quite finish the dishes. The lobster bisque was wonderful, very rich and deep in taste. A recommended menu item. The seabass was okay, nothing spectacular, nothing too bad.

The ambience was way too loud for our liking. We had to shout just to get heard from across the table. The service was okay, felt short of our expectations. We had a great time at the Wolf in Tokyo. Now that i think about it, much of it was attributed to the wonderful staff they had there, which was clearly lacking in Hong Kong.

Service wasn't as good as expected, as we were looking at the menu, and the waiter came to us for some suggestions on wine, but the ones he recommended only from the house, not really specific to our needs. Also, he didn't ask before pouring wine into my glass, when it's still half full of wine; he took out our plates without asking if we still need it or not. the service doesn't really match with the standard of this restaurant which is disappointed. Overall the food were okay, not extremely surprising.
to be honest, i will not consider going back for second time.

Wir waren etwas enttäuscht, da wir es in New York nicht geschafft haben, sind wir diesmal am Weihnachtstag in Hongkong hin gegangen , das Fleisch war gut , die Beilagen eher mittelmäßig, was vielleicht auch am Standort gelegen haben könnte , obwohl Hongkong einige gute Steakhäuser hat .Gesammteindruck okay , aber kein Wow Effekt leider .

When it comes steaks and NYC style cheesecake, Wolfgang's is the ideal dining experience.
One disappoint was a pre-dinner cocktail. The bartender did not know how to make a dry martini. I had resort to a single malt on ice.

The porterhouse was just so perfect and juicy, especially the tenderloin part. The Beverly Hills chopped salad was a bit bitter due to the red cabbage but it was acceptable to me. The red wine from Spain went a bit too strong after leaving to ventilate for a while.
