Fantastic day. Great views, nice and relaxing day
This was my 5th time having High Tea at the Wintergarden and I believe although the portions have shrunk, the quality of the food is still very good. Unfortunately I found the 'special request' to have a window seat was denied due to the high volume of requests however we sat behind an empty window table for almost 50mins which was very disappointing as a family member was visiting from Ireland and the request had been accommodated on another visit. The piano and other musicians playing jazz for the length of our visit was noisy and unnecessary to the ambience of the stunning room. Conversation was very difficult. I will not be returning in the near future
Beautiful views, discrete courteous service and delightful food.
Thank you for the lovely staff for making our 12th anniversary even more special day
Staff were not welcoming at all, we were seated at a table for Two with a wall in front of us so we couldn’t see the view at all. It was just a mirror so when I tried to look out at the view I was just looking in a mirror at myself. My tea was warm and the high tea food was very poor quality. The wait staff seated us and never came back to check if we needed anything else.
I drove for an hour and a half for the high tea. Very disappointing, would never recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful setting and beautiful food! One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Food was terrific, service was perfect. I took my 9 year old son and he also enjoyed the novelty and experience, the staff treated him so grown up! The flower tea was amazing in taste and preparation. Thank you!
Lovely ambience, beautiful location, but value for money needs to be revised.
Amazing views even on a wet and misty day paired with a scrumptious meal. What more could we ask for on a girls getaway! =oD
Last minute decision for us to do high tea and glad we did. It is expensive but a bucket list must. The pianist was a nice touch but drowned out conversation. Very difficult to understand poor English of both our table staff and woman on door
Beautiful hotel but not renovated in keeping with the era. Plastic cherry blossom trees with plastic geraniums and fairy lights made cheap of what was supposed to be a quintessentially English High Tea. There was an “Eastern High Tea”! Basically Yum Cha. Ants climbing the wall at our table.
What a great experience. The food wss delicious, atmosphere lovely & views of the mountains to top it all off. The staff were professional & very friendly
Loved our evening at the Hydro Majestic. Service was amazing, food was delicious and atmosphere was very special. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience. Great food and spectacular views. Service was very good and not imposing.
The Hydro Majestic is a beautiful Hotel that has been restored to its former glory. The Wintergarden restaurant is the Hotel's upmarket eating spot with an interesting and varied menu using local produce and wines. Well worth dining there for the view and ambiance. It isn't cheap but great for a special occasion. The views are spectacular but you have to see them in the daytime so dinner meals aren't generally able to get the views, unless it is daylight saving.
I booked the high tea after a recommendation from
two friends, but to be honest I was disappointed with the food. The raisin scone was nice, but the plain one was really gummy and the sandwiches wasn't very tasty and the chicken wrap was okay. The desserts was nice though. I think the view would have slightly made up for the food, but it was rainy, so all we could really see was fog. It was also very loud - it reminded me of a food court to be honest, because there was a tour group. So if you're after a quiet high tea, it may be worth checking if there is a tour group booked. After travelling 2 hours to get to this place to celebrate our anniversary, I was disappointed.
I have driven past the Hydro Majestic so many times and thought about stopping off to experience the views and food. Last week, my girl friend suggested that we have High Tea to celebrate our anniversaries, so four of us booked, managed to get a window seat and it was amazing. Although there was fog, the ambience, the food and the flower bomb teas were just amazing. Why did we wait so long? I don't know, but we will be back again soon, that is for sure.
Great day. Will definitely be back. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience. Staff were fantastic.
Had the eastern high tea, what a beautiful experience. would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely afternoon in the blue mountains.
A lovely way to celebrate a special occasion. The variety of high teas suited both of us with our different tastes!
Simply beautiful! Stunning views, lovely ambience and delicious food.
food was amazing, awesome flavours. really enjoyed our dinner
Love the Wintergarden. Will be coming back again and again.
Great service with amazing view. Wouldn’t hesitate going back next time :-)
Lovely time at the Winter Garden High Tea on the Long Weekend. Our window table was breathtaking as it looked out onto a picturesque view of the Blue Mountains. The food was delicious and service impeccable. Atmosphere was relaxing and their was a live pianist in the room! Would recommend 100x over.
Great location, we had high tea which was more of what we expected, enjoy the music played and the views on a wonderful sunny day were breathtaking, a must visiit and we will repeat the experience.
We had an Eastern high tea for lunch with the blossom green tea. Superb food and amazing view.
We loved our day at the Hydro Majestic
Beautiful room, fabulous views; delicious food, friendly staff
What's not to like?
This is a great sport for a special occasion high tea. I love they now have gluten free scones as well as a focaccia veggie sandwhich.
Excellent service and great view. The Wintergarden room is beautiful and comfortable
The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful and the staff were efficient and friendly. We enjoyed our meals but would say that had we not enjoyed a late lunch we would have needed more food as the "fine dining" servings are quite small. We are both active mid 60 year olds.
Lovely setting, however, tea cold and food stale - very disappointing, not worth even a quarter the amount charged. Would not recommend!!
Wintergarden provided one of the best high teas I have experienced. The venue was stunning and the service was very attentive, but the highlight was the variety and ability to cater to dietary restrictions. Highly recommended!
very disappointing. , I returned my sandwiches as they were dry, The replacements were the same. very little filling and odd combination. A profiterole with grated carrot ?? Scones more like sweet bread someone forgot the butter or cream. Its a shame when you can make it so much better at home. Have a great recipe for scones I am happy to share. I think yours came out of a packet. Stopped on way home as we were still hungry.
I’ve been here for High Tea and Dinner. Both times I have found the food poor.
The High Tea food tasted stale and with dinner parts of my meal where un eatable. Also expensive! I don’t mind paying for food that’s taste great. Would also help if the waiter/ waitress spoke English.
I am being critical because the place has potential. You need offer the food and service that goes along with the price tag or people will be unforgiving.
Spectacular views, excellent service, lovely and quiet with beautiful furnishings.
Excellent entree and main, but let down by the chocolate mousse dessert, it tasted like it came from the local bakery.
After a nice drive from Sydney it was a great place for High Tea
Excellent nothing bad to say.
Love coming up for High Tea with my sister inlaws.
The food truly was ordinary for what you pay. Bread was a bit stale on the sandwiches, scones did not seem fresh. However the location and the ambience does make up for it so whilst we left disappointed with the food we still did enjoy ourselves. PS - $14 for a bottle of sparkling water was a bit extreme.
good night stay and food (high tea, 2 course dinner and bufet breakfast. alot more relaxed than i thought it would be, which was awseome. food was inventive. would recommend as a nice special place for that special occassion.Had everything you needed to stay at the hotel and totally relax.
