We had a 3yo child with us and the menu (high tea) was very good for that age range. Very thoughtful choices but I think it would be helpful if they also put thought into the servingware used for her setting. She had a china plate and cutlery just like the others at the table which was fine, but could have been a child friendly option. And her hot chocolate was served in at quite a hot temperature, would have been better to give thought to that also. One particular waitress appeared concerned about the potential for the child to break glassware etc. nearby and we were watching her so there was no breakages but it just illustrated that the it's perhaps not a child friendly place to go apart from the great child menu. However all in all this wouldnt stop us coming again. The atmosphere, view and food was lovely and we would definitely make the drive back again.
High tea with a beautiful view. I booked this for a special occasion for my mother in law 82nd birthday and my daughters 37 th birthday. The food was delicious we had a lovely Sunday afternoon with a lady playing the piano while we ate the scones and sweet treats
Overpriced for the level of service and the quality of food. Was very dissatisfied with everything bar the view. The food had good flavour and presentation. Just felt that value for money wasnt there. The sandwiches felt very function finger food.
Service was substandard for the price of the high tea.
Nobody came near us for a very long time to see if we wanted our tea/coffee, whilst we enjoyed a glass of bubbly, we had to ask for the tea/coffee. When tea/coffee delivered, I hadn’t seen the milk on the table (things in front of it), & the waiter hadn’t mentioned it either, so naturally I had to ask for milk, the waiter should have brought it fwd or mentioned it at least. I just felt the service lacked. I’ve had many High Teas & would not rate your service as excellent, which is a shame given the view that is offered. I went to pay the additional cost at the end & the guy looked for my name & couldn’t find me, he assumed I was checking in rather than out, again poor service & not sharp. It’s a beautiful hotel & I think it demands excellent service.
We really enjoyed our high tea in the Wintergarden Restaurant at the Hydro Majestic. As it was a Friday afternoon, it was a little cheaper than weekend prices and reasonably quiet. The service was professional and pleasant without being amazing and the selection of food served was very enjoyable. Of particular note were the ham sandwiches and the home made strawberry jam served with the scones. The restaurant is spacious, opulently decorated and comfortable. The view is to die for. Altogether a delightful afternoon.
Nice ambience, service was great, food was quite good, but nowhere near as good as it should have been for the price. Paying extra for vegetables with a set price menu was outrageous!
The vegetarian option for my partner was very disappointing and not tasty at all, and 1 vegetarian option was too narrow!
All in all meal was ok, but overpriced for what it was, and there are much better quality local options for half the price!
Had a wonderful visit with my family for my mother’s birthday. I have to pass on my full respect and appreciation to the wait staff their service was impeccable and they were super friendly and engaging. They made a good afternoon perfect, you’re very fortunate to have such staff.
Had a lovely time. No option on online booking to choose window tables
Had dinner recently with some friends, atmosphere was lovely, food was good. Chicken main would have been improved if the skin was crispy not soft and gelatinous. Portions were a bit small, especially the duck, sizing can be improved. There was a large group which was a bit loud, a private dining room would have been more suitable for this table.
Amazing views and beautiful atmosphere. Takes your breath away! Would recommend to anyone! Great photo opportunities and lovely food and tea.
The setting and views were spectacular and the dining room was beautiful. Staff were friendly and service was quick and efficient. The high tea was lovely and the background music (lady playing piano) was just right. We would highly recommend this as a place to come and enjoy a high tea, the scenic views and the ambiance.
Excellent service and food.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had heard a lot of good things about the Hydro Magestic at Meadlow Bath and it certainly lived up to the expectations.
We had the Eastern High Tea and enjoyed all the food.
It was certainly worth the drive and the view is breathtaking
Thank you for a good day.
Birthday high tea for my wife. Beautiful ambience and elegant. Food definitely geared for women. Needed more hot food options. Wife was happy and that was the main thing. Music was great and staff were attentive.
Absolutely spectacular! We had a High Tea to celebrate a special birthday and we were so happy with everything about the Wintergarden. The food was exceptional, the service friendly and the view was amazing. I cannot wait to go back and share the experience with others. Highly recommended!
Customer service from the staff definately a 10 they were amazing from the time you walk in the door to when you leave, makes a difference with the high standard of service. Would go again.
The food was all under seasoned. My husbands lobster was watery and rubbery, very much as of it had been defrosted. His wagyu striploin, we’d been told, would be medium rare. It was so well done it was grey. Hard to ruin such great produce but the chef managed to. We were very disappointed and will not be back
Dining at the Winter Garden was a special occasion. The cuisine served on 22nd and 23rd was exceptional and served in a very quick time frame. My special occasion on 23rd was celebrated with my Loving Husband and the staff were also involved when presenting my birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday. It was a moment that I will cherish. I will certainly be recommending the Hydro Majestic and restaurant to my family, friends and associates.
Overall food was nice ..... don't like that you can't choose if you onlywant one course. Just be aware very stingy servings we go to a lot of fine dining this has been the most stingy we have been. Lots of good eating places in the mountains we will take our money somewhere else next time. We thought is was a rip off.
We loved our high tea at the hydro majestic. Would love to go back really soon! The views are incredible.
I drove a friend up from Sydney just for the pleasure of sharing High Tea. The Grand Lady did not disappoint.. Majesstic in all her splendour, showcasing her beautiful backdrop through the emormous glass windows. The decor was carefully chosen to create a feeling of belonging. The High Tea was delicious and filling, each morsel a delight to taste. We will be definitely be returning for more taste testing. Last but not least, the staff - impeccable manners and attention to detail - Truly a wonderful experience.
A beautiful high tea with outstanding view and wonderful, warm service.
Beautiful scenery and gorgeous dining area. High tea was great and the staff were lovely
The two high tea options - winter garden and eastern, were both fantastic and I highly recommend the tea blossom - looks stunning.
One of our ladies has an allergy and the staff went out of their way to provide a high tea that she could enjoy. we loved our experience - walked from the train, into beautiful surroundings and experienced top service from the staff. We were lucky enough to have a table at the window and the views were spectacular! Will certainly come again.
Really enjoyed our experience, will be back again soon
Lovely food and place to hold a baby shower however the waiters need to speak louder.
Eastern high tea was disappointing, but beautiful friendly atmosphere
I would like to say thank you for the amazing experience, My husband and came here for my birthday and booked the high tea lunch, the food, ambiance and the scenic view was all spectacular. I requested to be seated next the window overlooking the mountains and they gave us exactly that, it was absolutely breathtaking! I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for any special occasion.
Having spent many happy childhood holidays at the Hydro, I was looking forward to going there again with a friend from interstate. The photos on the internet promised so much but we were disappointed overall. The fare on the High Tea menu was satisfactory but the scones were hard and cold and not enough cream and jam. It was certainly not worth the $79 price tag. When my friend ordered a cafe latte it arrived in a cup and she asked for a glass, she was advised that they had run out! She asked another wait person who promptly met her request.
We arrived five minutes early but the staff were unclear about our booking. We asked for a table near the window but were told it was unavailable as they would have to set it. They had to do this anyway while we waited. The view, of course, is wonderful but the tables are too close together. Given the number of clients who are churned through in an afternoon, the restaurant needs to lift its game. At this price. they need to improve the service or add to the menu eg mini quiches etc and include a glass of wine.
This was a belated mothers day present, so worth the wait, impeccable food, impeccable service
We had a lovely time, food was great too. I did have to ask for our tea however after we had finished eating. Not sure what happened there. Did the tour too, very informative. I did try to purchase gift vouchers for a 50th but was told i couldn't. That was disappointing.
Had an excellent time at high tea, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable with an excellent ambiance.
We had a wonderful experience. The food and service was great. Thank-you so much.
I was very disappointed with the quality of the food at our high tea when visiting the hydro majestic. At $220 for 4 people I was expecting a delicious spread. It is such a shame that we can not recommend this high tea experience. The scones were stale and cakes tasted store bought and preserved. There was some kind of shot glass filled with a jelly custard concoction that was inedible. Being Christmas in July there were sugary decorations on some of the cakes which I would advise not to consume. Most high teas I have been to will top up your tea pot throughout the meal without charge. Hot water is free, your patrons would appreciate this service. The sandwich had a lovely filling but the wrap was filled with processed chicken or turkey loaf. Fresh chicken would have been nice. There was no hot savoury items. One of our party had a vegetarian high tea and her sandwiches were stale. This was a special occasion for us. We had traveled with our grandma from Sydney to specifically visit the Hydro Majestic and share memories of the blue mountains from her childhood. The Wintergarden restaurant was a lovely room and the view was spectacular and the staff were very polite and friendly. But this is not enough for us to come back.
a very enjoyable afternoon tea. people were polite and service was very attentive.
Was given a High Tea voucher for our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Very opulent looking restaurant, large windows to enjoy the beautiful mountain / valley vista, delicious High Tea fare, reasonable price.
Great good, excellent service and phenomenal views.
My husband and I both loved our entrees (lobster tail and scallops) and were excited when we saw blue eye cod on the mains because it is our favourite fish to eat. Sadly we both couldn’t finish it and it was a real let down. It tasted very fishy and I don’t think the flavors of the mussels and risotto went with it.
We had Eastern high tea the following day though and it was absolutely delicious! Very similar to yum cha. Would highly recommend it.
We celebrated our Mum’s 60th birthday here. We had a wonderful time, the food was very good, the eastern high tea is highly recommended, but what made the experience wonderful was the staff that looked after our table. They were all very polite, friendly and courteous and would go above and beyond. I would like to specially mention Christine who made all of us especially my mum super happy for doing everything she can to make the experience special and memorable.
