Lovely High Tea experience, with excellent service, good food and wonderful views from our window table. The restaurant is nice and quiet and the tables are a good size to fit food and drinks and well spaced to add to the relaxing atmosphere.
The service was great but food quality was very disappointing and overpriced. Food quality definitely dropped since my last visit
We had a wonderful time. Great food and service. The view is magnificent.
The service was very poor.
The high tea had far to many sweets and not enough savoury, the quality of the food served could have been much better for the price charged.
It was my daughters 20th and we were disappointed overall.
Lovely food and lovely setting!! Definitely recommend.
The views are amazing and the high tea service and experience was excellent.
Had a lovely time here. Food was excellent, service great and the view over the valley magnificent. My mother really loved her Mother’s Day surprise. We did visit midweek and made sure I requested a window table.
Avoided busy times with midweek 11am High Tea. The setting remains stunning, service excellent. With it unfortunately comes overprized food but then a glass of bubbly overlooking the escarpment, watching the light change makes up for a lot. The Eastern High Tea was a nice change. Would recommend the blossom tea for tea lovers.
Service was excellent. Great views of the valley. Food delicious.
The service was exceptional as was the food and presentation. The staff have such attention to detail and we felt properly cared for. It is worth the money for the service and views alone.
My third High Tea and each time has been wonderful in all aspects
Cannot fault the staff,
Service was excellent and genuine
Location Is spectacular ,ambience midweek a little unremarkable.
Most disappointing was the food .
High tea , the items involving bread /rolls were dry .
Sweets were fine.
Scones ok , but the cream felt/ tasted like canned whipped cream...UNFORGIVEABLE .
Really , cheap cream was the most disappointing thing after a trip up for high tea.
More than likely would not chance it again.
Been to better High Teas but overall a nice spread. Staff were all pleasant but could be a bit more attentive, had to wait quite a long time to get more tea & coffee.
We went there for a high tea, something we have wanted to do for a long time. Unfortunately this "high tea" is not the normal refined experiance. The service was very poor, the scones were the size of dinner rolls, there was a chicken wrap you would get from the take away down the road and was bland, and tea was served in thick old coffee cups. We had to walk around the dirty dishes to get out. Totally over priced for what was served.
The most amazing experience. I have longed to go to the Hydro Majestic since I was a child. And it did not disappoint. Absolutely Devine restoration of this beautiful property.
Very good food in a great location. The view is amazing and the ambiance allows you to relax and take in the scenery.
Price was largely for the view as have had better value high tea at the Hyatt in Canberra. Price was not reduced due to Easter even though we did not want alcohol.
The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. Highly recommend.
Beautiful view from the dining room. However the high tea was grossly over priced and the food served was of average quality
Disappointing evening. The staff forgot our mains. We waited at least an hour between entree and main. Food was ok but not worth the 200 plus we paid.
"Absolutely perfect" fantastic friendly staff Will defiantly return for a High Tea :)
My cousin brought me here as it was one of her childhood goals to visit and I was a tourist. I think as soon as we were sat at the view we hardly spoke as it was just breath taking. The staff were of such high standards and made us feel very important. I would highly recommend the high tea to everyone. I will be back some day.
I would say I though the service was a bit light on our empty plates stayed on the table for about 20mins
also the hot water needed to be hotter for tea
overall lovely day beautiful venue gardens out the front need to be tided looked shabby
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
The food was delightful, the service excellent and the location perfect.
While the music was a little loud and affected conversation, it did add to the ambiance.
Lucky to he celebrating my birthday and got a table by the window with great views. Service was amazing, tea constantly topped up and empty plates whisked away without asking. Definately worth the 1 hr drive from western Sydney.
Absolutely perfect way to treat mum to a birthday high tea. We've done a few around Sydney and this was by far the best. We will be coming again but know now to request a window seat.
My first time here for a high tea and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful setting, view, food and service. Will definitely come back again.
Fabulous value for money, delicious food and menue all with a stunning view.
For a special treat and a great outlook, very hard to beat the Wintergarden. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive.
We enjoyed the Eastern High Tea, which is a nice twist on yum cha, and had a good range of teas to choose from as accompaniment. The food arrived quickly and was clearly freshly plated, and my favourites were the crab claw (modest, but sweet and tasty with crisp outer thin batter), and the lychee dessert pudding (melt-in-the-mouth and not oversweet).
While the sizes appeared smallish at first glance, we certainly left suitably satiated and not over-full.
We'd gladly come back for a treat, and maybe fit in a walk after next time.
we have a really lovely afternoon. The people who waited on us were very personable but professional. They were very accommodating with dietary requirements, and those who had the dietary requirements were very happy. My only way for it to be improved would have been if we were near the window. We still could see the view however. We will certainly come back again in the future
I was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the Hydro has become after the restoration.
The Asian high Tea was delicious,my friends had the traditional and were very impressed.
I would recommend it to anyone.
The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was not good at all, it looked fantastic but it didn’t taste as good as it looked. The sandwiches were soggy, the panacotta dessert was runny and many of the sweets were tasteless. I will say though, the scones were very nice. Not worth the price
Gave this a try instead of our regular high tea at Lilianfels.
The good: booking was easy, getting our table was easy even though we arrived early. Easy parking on site. Service was reasonably attentive until it was time to request he bill.
The bad: Tea was served in relatively small pots which meant frequent refills required, which wait staff were attentive to. Only small selection of teas available with others available for an additional cost. Milk is also only available upon request, sugar cubes are available at the table. Food was definitely below par. Scones arrived cold, clotted cream was more a whipped cream consistency, couldn't really work out the flavour of the jam as it just tasted tart and sweet. Sandwiches were the worst I've had served at a high tea. Bread was soggy on one side possibly due to condensation, particularly the cucumber sandwich which was inedible as the bread was bordering soaked. The filling of other sandwiches were quite scant as well. The only exception was the chicken wrap which was not affected by condensation and filling to bread ratio was good. Desserts lacked imagination and we're overly sweet to the point where we could not continue to eat them. A student in first year Le Cordon Bleu make better desserts than that.
Also worth noting that there is a magnificent view for those sitting by the windows. However, the tables are arranged that larger groups are sat by the windows and smaller tables of 2 or 4 were towards the middle of the room with no views. There are only a few small tables next to the windows with a view.
Overall, I'm better of dealing with the parking issues at Lilianfels but having a better overall experience.
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner, service was great and the food was delicious.
Tea is fab , views amazing and ambiance beautiful ... shame about the food which is very touristy and sub par
What a beautiful experience! Service was exceptional, the view was phenomenal and the food extremely delicious!
The food was a perfect balance of delicious flavours, delightful presentation, savoury and sweet dainties. Staff were attentive, polite, efficient and unobtrusive. The view was magnificent and the whole experience was delightful. Everything a high tea should be.
Wonderful place, the staff are amazing and the hightea is beautiful.
It’s very filling and had a great variety of things
Very pleasant ambiance and fantastic view. Staff were very pleasant and efficient.
