Wills Domain Ratings and Reviews
We had lunch as our son was back from Houston for two weeks. We shared charcuterie and potato scallops for entre. Main meals were trout, lamb shoulder, pork belly, steak. Potato gems and runner beans for sides. Not sure what the chef has against the humble potato but he murdered both potato dishes. How can you do ??? Did not pay for the “gems” as gems they were not. Runner beans over dressed. Steak and lamb well rested to point of being presented cold. That said they were well cooked. Trout and pork belly were good. Seems to me chef is more into artifice than allowing great fresh ingredients to shine.
My husband and I recently enjoyed a delightful lunch at Wills Domain - celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary.
Both of us have a garlic intolerance which can so often spoil our eating out experiences.
After mentioning this in the on line booking form we were very kindly accommodated. the chef was prepared to adjust all but 2 of the dishes on the menu. We both really appreciated this and as a result felt we could relax and enjoy the delight of browsing a menu and enjoying the delicious food.
Altogether a great experience - thank you.

magnificent views, excellent food (piece of trout not the greatest, but prawns and other sides ex), good wine, dangerous desert ( snickers etc); staff:efficient, friendly, exactly the right temperature right down to paying the bill.
A special occasion visit this time but will be back.
The practice of the actual chefs bringing each dish out is a great touch. At three hours plus long the degustation is not a fleeting affair but the quality and thought behind each dish is unquestionable. The highlight for me was the Abalone Broth, an umami sensation only let down by the lack of a Pinot option in the Wise collection, and indeed, the wines overall were forgettable and none resonated with their pairing. But go for the food, the service and the location and you will be thrilled.
Will's have changed from a choice between a five course and a seven course degustation to a seven only degustation. There are also snacks, a palate cleanser and finishing snack in addition to the seven courses. We felt this was just too much. We would have been happier with the five course option. Other wise very good.
Lovely setting. Great food and service good.
The only little thing was the girl didnt let us sit were we wanted as it wasnt set up for tasting menu. I didnt think getting a couple more forks be so hard.all in all a grwat day. Great service in tasting area cheers
Enjoyed a la carte lunch. Food was excellent - the whipped yabbie potato skins was different and very nice. The mains were substantial for lunch and we chose to order sides because they appealed to the group. The desserts topped off the day. The staff were friendly although at times they could have been more responsive to the needs of the table.
The setting was perfect on a sunny Sunday. Would definitely recommend to others and very much looking forward to attending a wedding there in the future.
