Wills Domain Ratings and Reviews
We had the tasting menu at Wills Domain. It was truly amazing, everyday extra fresh produce prepared in unique & creative ways, served by knowledgeable, engaged staff. Never again will I think celeriac is a boring vegetable. We opted out of having a different wine with each course because we were driving but enjoyed a bottle of the estate Rose over the course of our 3.5 hours lunch. There are additional surprises within the stated menu, "snacks" at the start is an understatement to describe the delicious morsels served. Treat yourself, this is exceptional value & quality for money.
Never before have I experienced such a culinary experience. The tasting menu was beyond superb. The food matched with the wine was a experience in itself. The chefs explaining each coarse was fabulous. The women in our party commented that they had never eaten such amazing food...ever! I thoroughly recommend this taste sensation.
The staff and view matched the food. 100% all around. Thank you
Food was fantastic and staff were lovely, however it took a long time to have our order taken and also receive our food. I would definately recomend it if you are wanting a long leisurely lunch as it is well worth it. But not if you are wanting a quick lunch to be able to take in the rest of Margaret River. We also went for the beautiful outlook, however they were not serving outside and had the restaurant closed up. In the warmer weather it would be lovely.
Excellent service and food, surpassed only by the degustation menu which was an incredible experience. We have been once before for the degustation also, and will hopefully be back again.
The standouts for us were the final 'Milk and Honey' dessert, and the first course of 'snacks' (in particular the abalone).
My husband and I had a lovely time. It was lovely to be able to see the kitchen and be served by the chiefs, including the head chef and soux chef. The food was amazing and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks to all the staff for the best food experience ever!
We got married at wills domain in 2015, so whenever we are down in WAs southwest we always book wills domain for lunch. The menu is always changing due to the chef using local produce that is in season, and we have never had a meal we haven't raved about for days after. The view is just breathtaking, and the wine, well that's a whole different story. 5 stars all the way!
Tbis is a very nice spot with a beautiful dining area in an immaculate vineyard - stunning.
Good food but the service was a bit muddled - nothing too bad but tbe music is just unacceptable - Justin Beiber no less and ofher diabolical modern pop garbage - tbis place is stunning and some nice music would belp create great ambience but it is just wrong to create such a nice place and give no thought to the music.
Beautiful location and besides the view we had at lunch, the food was done to perfection! We enjoyed the feasting menu very much. As we had initially reserved a table on Saturday, but their renovation work was postponed by a day, the guy who called me was extremely apologetic about it and changed our reservation to Sunday. We even got two glasses of complimentary sparkling wine! Thanks! :D
Even though we had booked a table for two in advance on arrival we were offered a table for 4, which let us think that they were not prepared. On the same note i have emailed through the website straight after making the reservation with a couple of questions but have never received a reply. Lunch and service was was solid only the beetroot tarte tatin wad a little let down add the pastry was undercooked and therefore dense and chewy while the topping was cold and seemed to have come out of the fridge shortly before.
All in all we have had a good experience and would recommend wills domain to friends and family.
Small Feast for lunch was exemplary. Followed by a divine dessert Apple Crumble. Yum. Being in the small dining room was a bonus. This was our second visit; and confirmed that "We will be back." Thanks to all the staff for making this a truly memorable occasion.
Lunch with friends, rushing around the Margaret river wine region we were late for our booking but Wills were happy to change our booking at a moments notice. Our waitress, Ruth , was absolutely lovely, very helpful with an excellent knowledge of the menu. Even the owner helped us out with our ritual photo. The food was divine - Cured kingfish, grilled prawns with XO sauce, Cumin lamb belly, crispy pork belly, glazed short rib and roasted cauliflower YUM, YUM, YUM. Desserts "snickers" watch out for that! Good one to share . Strawberry guava, mangosteen, whipped coconut - so creamy and smooth yet light and refreshing at the same time . Exceptional value for money . I can't say enough good things about Wills Domain , try it for yourself.
Went to WD for lunch on Easter Sunday - hadn't been there for a few years. The menu Is really good these days - modern Australian fare with a hint of Asian influence. The short rib is excellent. Great wines also by the glass which is a great way to match dish and wines. Super friendly staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Will be back when next in Wilyabrup.
Such an awesome winery. The view from the restaurant is stunning looking over the vine yards. Food was amazing. Service was exceptional...all waitress staff where so knowledgeable about the food, wine, area. Would highly recommend this venue and will definitely go back.
The degustation was simply outstanding in its creativity, presentation and ultimately the fabulous taste. This was the best overall experience at a dining table that I have had in many a year and the selection of wines to accompany the food was impeccable. The venue has many pluses with its outlook over the vines and the surrounding hills.
The timing of the courses was also perfect, giving enough time to really appreciate the food without having to rush between them.
The staff were well versed in the nuances of each course, no mean feat considering the lengths the chefs had gone to in creating the individual courses.
And the price was almost unbelievable for the quality and the generous serving of wines with each course.
The only real negative is that there is no accommodation at the winery because I'd really like to go back to try the seven course degustation, and I'd fly across the country from my home in Brisbane to do it!
