Overall the meal was good. Very disappointed with the Angus Beef, very chewy and not good value.
One of our favourite restaurants. Amazing to have such a gourmet option so close to us, and not have to go inner city.
Staffs were very attentive to details and friendly. Very professional and good knowledge on their food.Food were great from start till the end. Definitely recommended. And we will visit again in the near future.
Service, food & cocktails were delish!
The food is always good. The service is friendly without being in your face or gushing. The waiter explained how everything was prepared. The coffee and dessert was to die for.
The food here is to die for and , to get 3 courses for $35 makes it outstanding for a lunch time Get together
Did book online, only to be met with 'we only check the bookings in the morning'. Didn't really mind waiting for a table but I had specified it was a special occasion could we have a nice table, didn't happen. The food was overpriced for the offerings and quality in my mind, my portion size was minuscule with half the duck leg missing, the whole meal was smothered in fake sauce that really detracted from the duck. Bread on the pate was stale, and my partners jus was very watery.
We were pretty disappointed when we saw our plates coming out, as paying high 30ies for a main you expect something real good and it wasn't. The salmon (only fish on the menu!) was served on a lick of mashed potato puree with a few dots of something else. Although the salmon was cooked well, the rest of the plate did not add any value to a piece of fish I could have cooked myself easily and presented better. This restaurant is far off where it used to be 10 to 12 years ago!
The chicken with the wild mushroom was incredibly yum, as was the Bomb Alaska, the kangaroo wasn't that great, the scallops a little too overpowered with ginger. Still loved it, has a great menu, a nice cosy space. Is also in the entertainment book, so was a great way to try it and see how you like it!
Lovely night out, staff very welcoming.
Lovely warm ambience and attentive service. Food was full of flavor and presented well. Chicken was so tender and juicy and seasoned well but the addition of a sauce would have completed the meal well and some of the veggies were a little under done. Berry crepes for dessert were a perfect way to end the evening.
Great setting with excellent service and superb meal
Excellent Food, great service, friendly atmosphere
The service was wonderful. Simple honest food!
Me and the missus were in town for the night to celebrate our 6 month anniversary. It happened to be a Spanish theme night with live flamenco style guitar and salsa dancers. We were provided with great service and along with the ambience and energy of the place saved the night as the food wasn't what I would define as top end Spanish, having has extensive fine dining experience and knowing Spanish cuisine very well, the food definitely left much to be desired. Otherwise was a cozy little setup!
The unique gravy and sauce
Beautiful inexpensive food and great service - will come again!
Food was so disappointing - a very average chef!!! Service was shocking.. 5 different staff attended our table and no one knew what was going on.. ranging from items forgotten from our order to being asked 3 times from 3 different staff if we are ready to order to not having thorough knowledge of their menu for the night. They have a terrible management system in place. One or two of the staff ought to rethink if hospitality is what they wish to do.. one chap was so arrogant is was off-putting.
We were extremely impressed by the level of service by the manager and one server, truly the most outstanding service we've had. The food was exemplary, although the ginger on the scallops was overpowering (this from ginger lovers!), and our order was incorrect the first time around. The setting was lovely and a great choice for our anniversary. The real disappointments were how cold it was inside and a server who spoke to us with such contempt and outright hostility that we were speechless
We had a lovely night. Fabulous food really enjoyed it. Great wine and good service. Good value for what we had. Thanks
This is one of the best restaurants l have eaten at in a long time food was outstanding and service was great great place to eat
It was a Sunday night so there was a real relaxed ambience. Nice and quiet and the food was sensational.
Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit to Wild Oak. It is the second time we have attended, and we will be back. Charming service and exceptional food
Absolutely loved this restaurant - super impressed. Brilliant service and quality of food was superb, I would highly recommend.
The meal servings were very large.
We have been to Wild Oak several times, and we live locally. We do like their food, and they are very easy to work with for dietary requirements. The only downside on our last visit was a strong bleach smell which only faded after about half an hour - probably cleaning something, but it wasn't pleasant.
The food at Wild Oak is always of a spectacular quality, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the ambience is lovely.
I must admit, I was slightly disappointed with the restaurant. I went their to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary and while it was busy, it was very noisy and understaffed! The soup was served luke-warm and we had to wait awhile for our main course (when finished) to be cleared from the table and they forget our coffee. I had high expectations having had read prior reviews and watching the video, so I left there feeling rather underwhelmed and in no hurry to return back, which is a shame.
Great recommendations for wine
Enjoyed our lunch here on a Sunday. Friendly ambience and staff were perfect. Happy to recommend for any type of event. Food was very good. We had the 3 course Christmas in July option.
Their Christmas in July menu is so good with quality food and friendly service.
The scallops and sticky date pudding were excellent, however the pork belly and the kangaroo were both over cooked and dry. We ordered a $95 bottle of Coriole shiraz and it wasn't that good.
Absolutely amazing food and fantastic service.
Great service, they catered well for kids and brought our son's meal out with our entree. The Christmas in July menu is fantastic value, food was great. Lovely restaurant beautifully set up. The other bonus was the change table in the toilets!
A little gem in the Dandenongs, great for a winter lunch or a cosy dinner if you are up the hills East of Melbourne.Young, with it wait staff who know their stuff.A very pleasant Sunday afternoon.
Great food, great service the 5 course selection provides a hearty dishes to excite your tastebuds. A great selection of wine and beers too!
Great food, great service. The wait staff knew the food and the wines
The exceptional level of service the staff provided much us feel very loved for my birthday. Great food, good prices!
Expectations were high, along with the price, but we were not disappointed: the duck was cooked to perfection with an exquisite sauce. Live background jazz music and low lighting capped off a delightful meal.
The food was very good and service excellent! Will definitely be back.
