Long time WG fan, but the food was . . . not good. Had duck appetizers; they were similar to but not as good as fried mozzarella sticks. Seven flavor beef was very tough and chewy. Service and ambiance were up to snuff.
Darina is the best
Good food, service was horrible. Drinks literally took 40 mins
Thank you for your feedback. Admittedly, the evening you dined was busier than anticipated and we were staffed inadequately. I would appreciate an opportunity to provide you with proper Wild Ginger service. Please reach out to me for your next reservation and your meal will be on the house. Sincerely, Robert LaBuda General Manager Robert@wildginger.net
Overall brilliant dining experience!
We work around the corner so we frequently have business meals here. They have a good guaranteed lunch menu yet I suspect it is mostly prepared ahead and held under the warming lights. The Pad Thai was dry and not very flavorful. We have loved Wild Ginger from the Bellevue location. Don’t sacrifice your excellent food for speed. Stay with what made you great to begin with.
The service was exceptional and saved the day!
The service and atmosphere were great but the duck was over cooked and the skin wasn’t crispy enough. For a featured dish, it was a little disappointing.
Love Wild Ginger. First time at your SLU location
The food was excellent. Our Server Matthew was outstanding. I would recommend it when you are in Downtown Seattle.
Must try shiitake mushroom satay!
I enjoyed the outdoor table; loved the Chicken Chiew Salad.
I have been to Wild Ginger since 1999 when I moved to Seattle - now they have 2 sites in downtown area - this being the 2nd spot closer to south Lake Union area. The food continues to impress as they continue to also bring new dishes to the forefront. The McKEnzie location has some unique dishes infleunced by their chef (from Sri LAnka) - the quality of the food and the variety is excellent
Ordered duck, chicken salad, green beans, seven flavor beef from lunch menu. The green beans were a little undercooked - not as tasty as usual. But overall still very good. Our Server was very attentive and patient. Awesome experience overall!
I love the original Seattle Wild Ginger location and was so excited to try the new location. They kept all the favorite dishes (fragrant duck), and some delicious new ones. The space is smaller and more intimate. The quality of food was on par with the original location and so was the service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and even taught us a few things about how to order an old fashioned. This is a place I would visit again and again for any occasion.
Fabulous as always!
Great food, even better service!
Service was on the slow side, but we had everything we needed. Would expect silverware to be replaced between meals in this type of restaurant. Food was great, but lunch portions are small.
Great waitress and food. But overall service here is very slow. Frustratingly so.
Entrees were not good compared to times that we have been to the main location of Wild Ginger. Green beans were lukewarm and lacking in flavor. There was hardly any beef in the Seven Flavor Beef...at least the flavor was fine. Not sure if it’s the McKenzie location specifically or if WG has gone downhill as a whole.
Food quality is inconsistent across different visits. However, the service is excellent.
Was told it was fine dining. It is a loud small plate bar. Ruined our celebratory night.
Dinner with friends. New server was not fluent with items available. Very accommodating when it came to locating us in a spot that we could put stroller next to table.
I love Wild Ginger's food usually. Our experience at this location (our first time there) was disappointing overall, but one person saved it, our waitperson at the bar (where we ended up sitting for lunch)- and I'm so sorry I didn't get her name! She made me a great "custom" drink of seltzer, lime and I don't know what else but it was delicious. She was the only person that day to understand and react to our timeline.
Sorry, but your hostess (lunch) really needs some help and training - no smile, no happy greeting, our table wasn't ready. Wasn't ready. Needing bussing. Was told again it needed bussing. This was all after when I arrived I mentioned that we would need to be fairly quick that day unfortunately and no sense of urgency. We were finally seated at the bar which was fine but not idea (except for our awesome waitress.)
The lettuce cups were spot on, delicious, awesome. The duck came with no cilantro, was in HUGE pieces and very difficult to work with and kind of chewy. The seven flavor beef was good but not as tender as I'm used to.
A rushed lunch and even with my Passport Dining card, lunch (!) was over $60.
Working out the kinks in new location? Maybe. I'm hoping it improves because I usually love a visit to Wild Ginger.
Not very busy but the service was extremely slow we ordered our drinks and waited close to 25 minutes before we got the drinks not having even ordered food yet you can do the rest of the equation perhaps just an off day
The bathrooms were less than ideal. The toilet is water efficient, but doesn't flush the bowl clean. It was dirty. The nozzle on the soap dispenser fell off so I moved over to the next sink to wash my hands. Other than those issues, the food was awesome as usual. I would recommend Wild Ginger McKenzie to a friend!
We enjoyed our dinner. The Shiitake Mushroom skewers were great. The Mongolian Noodles were good, as long as you like spicy. Sea Bass was very nice. The restaurant is very pleasant. It is not noisy. Service was very good.
Foodand service was great! Took my wife, mother in law and our 6 month old for mother's day. Very accommodating and great attention to needs.
Fabulous food - not a run of the mill Asian style restaurant where food comes out of a box into a microwave onto your plate. Creative cuisine made from scratch. Rob, the manager, is very knowledgeable and helpful with wine pairings and our server, Oscar, was friendly and impeccable. Excellent value for the quality of food. A must try when you are in Seattle. We will be back.
I'd been to Wild Ginger downtown a few times previously, and when I noticed that they had recently opened this new location I decided to try it out by taking a work colleague out to lunch. The service was swift and friendly, and it was not very busy (which I suspect was an important factor in my ability to have a conversation with my colleague). Most of the interior appears to have hard surfaces, so had it been closer to capacity I can imagine that it might not be so easy to have conversation without shouting.
The food was delicious, but not remarkable (which is what it usually is when I have gone to the downtown location). Possibly I chose poorly when selecting my meal. It will be interesting to try it at dinner time.
Our team event was a success due to the outstanding food and service at Wild Ginger. We enjoyed to two course lunch options as well as ordering off the lunch menu.
We had a large group and service was prompt and friendly.
Service was excellent on a busy night!
Great place for a small client gathering. A bit noisy during the lunch hour, but we went at 1 and it quieted down quickly after that. Staff and food were fantastic.
Scallops were heavenly. Lamb was flavorful and meat was succulent. Curry was pleasant and after the meal was eaten everyone at the table kept tasting the extra sauces over rice.
I have been a fan of Wild Ginger since their days on Alaskan Way. Earlier the same week as our recent visit, I took our houseguest to the 3rd Ave location. She suggested we return! So we tried the new location. My disappointment was that the food did not seem up to the regular quality. Seven flavor beef and the lettuce cups were on our plate both times, but different. I preferred the 3rd avenue version.
This is NOT to say that it will never measure up, but I believe the kitchen was a bit off that night.
Service was wonderful. My guest did not like her drink and they went to great lengths to satisfy her.
Excellent, super friendly, and attentive service. Not too crowded on a weeknight. For upscale but still authentic Asian cuisines, highly recommended. Shiitake mushroom skewers were fabulous. Vegan options for one of us. Well seasoned, creative meat and seafood dishes for others in our group. Price point very reasonable, especially considering quality and ambiance.
We love the whole experience, food staff, drinks, and the multiple locations. Going to have to get the Bellevue location soon.
It somehow just doesn’t feel like it’s up to the same standard as the downtown Wild Ginger location. I’m hoping it’s just because it’s a new restaurant.
Incredible food, and have gone to the downtown Wild Gnger many times, and maybe it was the attention and care of the wait staff because they weren't as busy as downtown, but it was a lovely evening out to celebrate my birthday
The service was awesome. We spent a boatload of money, and the waitress even brought us a complimentary few desserts. We were entertaining clients and the food was amazing. We chose to do family style with everyone (7 of us) and it worked out perfectly. She spaced it out so we didn't get everything at once. That was nice. Thanks!
Excellent service, food and drinks! Really nice and laid back ambiance. Highly recommended for a quiet get together or date night.
I went with my friends who came from outside Seattle. They absouletly loved it. We tried crab rice, pad thai and my favourite Srilankan Dahl.
I would definitely love recommend this restaurant.
