One of favorite places to dine in Philly. We have been here several times
Excellent food. Short rib was exquisite.
Food was delicious; I didn't drink bc of Dry January but the beer, wine, and cocktail selection seemed quite nice as well. Had an excellent dinner there!
Delicious, beautiful food with tons of flavor. Service is great. The restaurant is so cute with old décor of dogs everywhere. Lovely place to dine and I highly recommend!
Juan was a great waiter. Food was delicious!
This was a birthday dinner and everything was perfect. The food, the pace of the service and the experience were top notch. We hadn’t been here for several years and the quality remains unblemished.
Really interesting craft cocktails. Great flavors in the food.
The food was fantastic and the service was professional and well done. Everything is clean including the restrooms. It’s a beautiful space and a great area of the city. A great spot for brunch and to catch up with old friends.
Wonderful ambience. Food choices varied and appetizing. Service was excellent and the food was delicious
Birthday dinner and food and service was overall great
Good food and cute decor. If i knew that New Year’s Day is pajama day.. I would have done that too :)
The food was amazing! The server was very attentive! I will definitely go back!
Delicious food. Wonderful service. Ambience is great!
Although a "cafe" in name, even if you eat here for a weekday lunch in December they oddly seem to discourage the ordering of coffee or tea.. None of the three menus presented to us (lunch, alcohol, dessert) had any info on hot beverages or any other nonalcoholic drinks but mocktails. Nor did the server ever ask if we wanted such. I hoped for tea but thought I would be a nuisance to ask and so resigned myself to a mocktail made with iced tea, which I found too sour. Only at the end of the meal, when our credit card was accidentally used to pay for some other table's order that happened to be for the same dollar amount(!), did I see on our receipt that the other table had successfully ordered hot tea. Sigh. Also, there is a dessert that would greatly benefit from a well-placed hyphen: "apple butter cake" is NOT an apple-flavored butter cake (which sounded wonderful) but rather a cake (small and dryish) flavored with apple butter. So-so. Our meals, salmon and trout, were both fine, if unexciting. The pretzel bread appetizer was delicious and definitely (if unfortunately) the $9 highlight of the $90 meal...
The service was decent and the food was ok. I didn’t appreciate the pre-selected gratuity that was not earned. I don’t quite understand the good reviews and will not return.
Great place, service was outstanding! We never had to ask for refills. Food quality was very good as well. Definitely coming back again
Great food! We all had the burger and fries from the brunch menu, and loved it. Drinks were delicious. Service was great too! Cozy and chill vibe inside. Perfect for a brunch get together.
White dog is a neighborhood favorite! Remains consistent with excellent food and service :)
My guest and I ordered the mushroom soup, which was as delightful and tasty as always. We then ordered and shared the tuna and the shortrib. The tuna was done to perfection but the short rib was rather tough, sinewy, and, unfortunately, not hot when it was brought to the table. The restaurant was not crowded at all so there would have been no rush or anything else to be concerned about. Having been a customer in the past, especially when entertaining business clients at the White Dog, I must admit that the short rib dish did not come even close to the "melt in your mouth" texture that one would expect.
love this placed! Sat outside on a cold night. Service was prompt. Food was good as usual. Only downside was that they seemed to be having problems getting the heaters going. Two were not working and people had to move inside. Luckily, ours was. Also brought our own blankets and so we were nice and toasty.
Our second time eating there, just as wonderful as the first. The menu is delicious and the bar and servers have been so cooperative and mindful of our weird questions and requests. Can't wait to go back!
Awesome find - will return !
Excellent service and food, however both the soup and burger could have been hotter. Cooked perfectly, just more on the luke warm side.
We were seated right away and our waiter was at out table within 2 minutes. Our food was fantastic!
Perfect for our small group dinner before a concert performance at Penn Arts. Every drink and food selection was delicious. Our server was very attentive and kept us on time. We were given one of the smaller rooms which made it easier for our group to hear one another during the meal.
Was a good choice for a Friday evening meal w/ a colleague!
Our server was topknotch! She knew I was worried about my entree being too spicy and on her own initiative she requested that the kitchen put the dressing on the side.
Took advantage of the warm evening. Service was great, as usual. Food options were okay. Things we ordered were tasty.
Went for happy hour. Tasty foods and lots of cocktails to choose from. Very reasonable. Loved it! We will be back soon!
Nice ambience, good service, okay food (esp. for the price). Please be more clear on your reservation system that happy hour ONLY applies to the bar area or sitting outside. This was a rude surprise and hence did not meet value for money (snack options were also limited). ESP during covid times where we are trying to avoid crowded places (bar area was PACKED).
Food was delicious and the atmosphere eclectic! Some training should be given to wait staff aide! Soup served after the entree’s were served! Asked for no pickles and the roll not to be grilled and on the side! Pickles served and the roll was grilled but on the side! 👍 Force of habit! Some twicking is needed! The Cajun Catfish was delish! Would come again but with concerns!
Great food, local selections, season options. Drinks were tasty. Music was fabulous. Ambiance was unmatched. Living room was a great place to be sat.
We were a party of three for Sunday brunch. We had drinks, apps and entrees. Everything was terrific except the one entrée salad was pretty heavily overdressed to the point of being inedible for the person who ordered it. The waiter took it back and did not charge for it. Great place and that salad was an anomaly. Would go back 100%/
My favorite in Philly!
Our server was just great -prompt without being cloying. Food was yummy
Tom, my server, was phenomenal. The food was excellent. Highly recommend their brunch offerings!
The only negative thing is the White Dog’s complete noncompliance with the ADA standards
From the overly high steps to the entrance to the location of the bathrooms, the restaurant is very difficult for a person with mobility issues to navigate
Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions.
Nice menu and always a great execution. Consistently yummy and interesting,,
Great food and amazing service. What else can you ask for!!
