Amazing meal in a lovely setting. Definitely recommend!
The side dishes are the highlight! The fish was beautifully cooked.
A nice place with a lovely menu. As a chef in fine dining, I thoroughly enjoyed my time and meal 😋
Whalebone Wharf scores well in every department - decor is smart and relaxed; staff friendly and efficient; food is great and well priced- highly recommend!
Wonderful evening. Food was very good , tasty sauces and good portion sizes. Good value for money.
The service was excellent- efficient yet friendly.
It was a special celebration for our party and we were more than happy with our choice of venue
Excellent food and service was above and beyond! We went for my fathers 60th while in town and were not disappointed. They accommodated us with an excellent table and were extremely helpful and delightful servers (even helped heat up my daughters bottle). Food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely return and recommend.
Great location, great service and great food. A trip to Port Macquarie wouldn’t be complete without dinner here.
The food was amazing..... the seafood chowder is a must! Will definitely go back the next time I’m in town.
The restaurant service was great the lobster that we had was so fresh one of the best that we have ever tried. Would highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.
Excellent location, food, and service.
Cost medium to expensive, but worth it for a great meal.
Lovely setting, enjoyable food and very attentive and pleasant staff.
Delicious dinner, excellent service and delightful ambience.
A wonderful experience with beautiful seafood and view.
The restaurant has great ambience! The food is so fresh and the lobster was amazing! Can’t wait to return!
Open vistas across Hastings river. Quiet but lively atmosphere. Was surprised at how busy the restaurant was for a Thursday lunch! Service was very quick under the circumstances. Food was as it should be, well presented and cooked as requested. Waitress was very attentive. Well done!
Well worth the experience
From our warm greeting, wonderful service, scrumptious meals and "The View".. everything was perfect. Highly Recommend
Loved the food, beautiful fresh local oysters, great service. Wine per glass a little pricey, jmo. Will definitely be going back, would highly recommend Whalebone Restaurant for any seafood lover. PS. they also do chicken and steak too.
It was amazing food. We had the seafood platter for two!!
Over priced for what it is.
Some coasters on the table would be nice, that way every time I had a sip of my nice cold drink it wouldn't drip all over me.
Great location, wonderful food and excellent service.
Fantastic food and service. Was lovely. Sent photos and raved about this restaurant on facebook and some friends already booked for January when they visit Port Macquarie. I definitely will be back.
Very good food and James as a waiter we know topped it on for a very plesent lunch.
Quality dinning experience! Great food, awesome cocktails and a great location on the water !
Very disappointing. Loved the new revamp. But unfortunately we were seated at the worst table of the place!!! Considering the position of the table it should not be there at all. It's in the major thourafair and combined with the the vibrations of the staff and guests walking past and the background noise of the kitchen and restaurant it doesn't bode well. We had the seafood two course of which the the first course came out before our cocktails had even reached the table! There's preping and there's over preping, this being the latter. Obviously because we had it in front of us within 10mins with a packed house. $175 for a seafood, and let's not lie to the customers now, platter! What is offered is not what you pay for.....at best $125. Don't get me wrong the blanched prawns and cooked were the best I've tasted!! But to butcher oysters in Kilpatrick and mornay in this day and age?? Great flavours with the scallops but because they were wafer thin and barely constituted a whole scallop it just didn't feature. Same with the mussells, great sauce but ribbons of mussells with no texture? You promoted in house cured salmon.....And on it's own was fantastic!, but smothered with a houmas style dip?? Let it shine!! Each of these flavours where great , but together??? Salmon was perfectly cooked!!! and the flavours with the asparagus very nice. And by the way we had to ask where our second order of cocktails were as we had finished dinner. My partner was talking to a friend, she hadn't seen in 20 years. Her friend and husband were leaving the restaurant and the owner approached them to move on due to covid. All the while breaking covid restrictions by way of patrons per square metres. The place was packed and turning over tables?? No offence but I don't see why???? In saying that the staff are friendly and engaging, communication obviously a probably as we had to ask where our second round of cocktails were??: thank God for stunned mullet
What a surprise when we walked in. Such a beautiful spot. Very impressed by service and the food was amazing.
The best seas food restaurant we’ve been to in a long time. Perfect for kids too. We had such a great time we went back again. I don’t usually write reviews but this restaurant is outstanding and deserves one.
Great place to have dinner. Atmosphere was ideal, staff very friendly and efficient and the food good.
Our second visit and it didn’t disappoint. The seafood chowder is just worth a visit alone. After my chowder I ordered the crumbed flathead, it was tasty but did think the serving was small. For a side I really enjoyed the salad with the orange dressing, it probably was the star, very much added to the fish. My partner ordered the barramundi and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wine prices were very reasonable also. Will definitely return when we are in the area
We really enjoyed dining at The Whalebone Restaurant. Delicious food. All round great night.
We had a wonderful night. The food was cooked well and there was great choice. The staff were friendly and up for a chat. Not a local but this will definitely remain on the list for the next visit.
Actually, my husband and I have date nights , we wanted a little getaway so we fly up to Port Macquarie . The Whalebone was great . I love the decor and location , reminded me of restaurants back home in the states .., it was lovely looking out on the water . The food was great , never felt rushed ... everyone very nice .. Can’t wait to go back !
Special occasion treat and we absolutely loved it. Water side table and could watch the marine life below and take in the beautiful views. Gorgeous decor and lovely ambience. The staff were polite, helpful and efficient.
Food was delicious and beautiful to look at. Good wine list, shorter than other places but great variety and price range none the less.
Would love to go back! Thank you for a lovely evening!
Bit pricey but worth it, great views overall well set out & great atmosphere
Had the seafood bisque. A tad too salty for us but delicious. Service was a little slow
Absolutely perfect in all aspects. Highly recommend for locals and those visiting Port Macquarie.
Fabulous waterfront venue. Excellent & attentive staff.
Fabulous meal as always, we will be back very soon
Really nice atmosphere, 4 adults and two kids, the kids were kept busy with a kids pack.
One of the best seafood meals I've had this year. Awesome
