Magnificent location on the water with friendly knowledgeable staff that knew about their food, where it came from & how it was prepared. Beautiful dining experience!
A very special dining experience. We had the seafood tasting plate for 2 . It was a very modern cuisine which delivered a taste sensation in every mouthful. The waiters were friendly and very knowledgeable regarding wines and setting coastal and relaxing.
Our meal was beautiful and great value. Service was exceptional we never felt rushed - the whole experience was very relaxed.
This seafood restaurant is amazing. We ordered some natural oysters which were deliciously fresh. For mains me and my husband both ordered the fish of the day being swordfish and we were both extremely happy with our choice, it was cooked so well. I ordered the king prawns as an extra and the greens as my side. For dessert, I ordered the Dark Chocolate Cremeux which was quite tasty. My husband ordered the seasonal cheese board which he enjoyed but a little disappointed it only came with one kind of cheese. Overall we both loved having dinner here, it was a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. I would say this is a must visit place but be prepared to spend a bit of money.
Very good regional restaurant. The emphasis is on seafood, particularly fish. Essentially four or five varieties of fish with a range of different sauces and sides to chose from.
The oysters to begin were excellent and the cured salmon entree was excellent. The flathead for main wasn’t particularly generous but it was well cooked.
Limited wine list though the choices go well with seafood and the cocktails are highly recommended
Swordfish was dry and tasteless, sides were small. Beetroot salad consisted of sliced tin beetroot, a few bean shoots, candied walnuts and whipped feta.. not what I was expecting from this restaurant given the cost.. pear and ginger pudding was very dry. Will not be back in a hurry.
Great night out excellent service & food was delicious and generous portions
Beautiful restaurant, staff were amazing food was amazing . Little expensive but overall exceptional 🥰. Will be back on our next kid free trip .
Such a cute spot and beautiful interior!! We had the seafood platter which was authentic and worth every cent. Highly recommend
Absolutely stunning location and the most delicious food. Beautifully cooked, simple and exceptionally delicious.
Excellent service - the team went out of their way to help us, especially KC! (Thanks again for the lift 😂)
The food and wine selections were amazing. Complimented by extraordinary table staff who were friendly and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.
We have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The seafood platter of old was fabulous but the new version is just as good if not better. Thank you for making our lunch very enjoyable.
We booked this restaurant on the final night of our stay in Port Macquarie and it did not disappoint - we had a lovely night. My husband’s favourite, seafood chowder Was well up to his high standard and the rest of the meal was very tasty. The service was very good, very efficient and courteous from front door to table service. It was a little pricey but definitely worth it for a special night! Would love to visit again in daylight hours.
Great location on the water, spacious with views from all tables. Great food and service
One of Port Macquarie's and New South Wales' finest restaurants, outstanding service and incredible location on the river. Couldn't recommend more highly.
A fabulous experience! The service and food was outstanding.
Setting spectacular but food very underwhelming. Food presentation was very disappointing.
Whalebone Wharf is an amazing venue to enjoy an amazing meal with friends and family. The food is amazing, and the service is outstanding - all the staff served us with a great balance of friendly and professional attitudes. The ambiance is also wonderful (and we were seated next to the river, so enjoyed watching the pelicans and fish from our seats). Thank you so much Whalebone for all your do.....we loved being with you.
My husband and I enjoyed one of the best meals ever . The duck confit was exceptional and the special of the day was king fish it too was exceptionally good. Thanks
Service was great. The presentation of the food was poor. Having ordered Kingfish steak that is exactly what I got, a piece of fish with and bowl aoili!!!
Great service, delicious cocktails and loved the food.
Everything is good. Staff are wonderful. Atmosphere is perfect even better on a lazy sunny arvo.
We booked a table for four at 6.00pm to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The Covid check was carried out efficiently and politely. The food , all 3 courses, was excellent. The service could not be faulted The ambience was elegant. Based on our experience we can highly recommend this restaurant for a celebratory occasion or just for a fine meal.
Had a lovely lunch for a birthday celebration.
The venue was great overlooking the water and the service couldn't be faulted.
All four of us enjoyed our meals of seafood dishes even though it was on the expensive side was really worth it.
Would recommend for a special occasion or just wanting a memorable meal.
Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant with a great location! The oysters were fantastic and the food was delicious with reasonable value. I just wish there was more variety on the main menu, it was mostly fish.
This restaurant is a must if your in Port Macquarie.
Such a pleasant atmosphere.
Food was excellent, have never had Brussel Sprouts that good! Beautiful fresh Salmon what else could have I asked for.
Was in Port for 5 nights and visited this great restaurant twice.
Staff were all so very pleasant even though they were busy.
The food could be much better and food took so long to cook
It is the brightest restaurant I've ever been to, and not in a good way. The lights and white walls were so glaring and bright, it detracted from the whole experience. Some dimmers and candles would go a long way.
Every part of our dinner booking was sensational. The restaurant is water front and beautifully decorated. The service was attentive and polite. The food was outstanding, we had the salmon and the Jew fish special. The sides are plentiful for sharing. 10/10
The service was superb. The seafood was fresh and flavoursome. The cocktails were amazing. The setting was spectacular. In all it amounted to an evening to remember. Thankyou we are really looking forward to our next special celebration with you.
The fish was beautiful but all the sides were below average. Pushy waitress, felt like she was more interested in up selling than our experience there.
Nice food, lovely location, good place for an enjoyable meal
All the things we love are found at Whalebone Wharf.Excellent food well prepared and presented, served with our choice of fabulous wines.
The staff are always courteous and helpful.
We have no hesitation in recommending Whalebone Wharf to all our friends
We really enjoyed our dinner with friends with no children :)
We thought there could have been 2 pieces of fish on our plater for 2.
We had a few waitresses during the evening all of which couldn't tell us what fish would be on the plater even when it came out. There were a few things in the dessert menu they also couldn't tell us what it was.
It was however delicious with amazing flavours. Thank you
Seafood platter was amazing. Great service by wait staff.
We'd a great time. Food was great with the exception of the steak. Even on medium rare, the steak was a bit tough. The seadfood platter for 2, steamed barramundi with sweet ginger sauce, gnocchi and grilled brussel sprouts and grilled greens were great. Staff were friendly and polite.
Very good food & excellent service.
Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to Port Macquarie.
We enjoyed a great night for my Birthday. We ordered the Seafood tasting plate for 2 with a lovely selection of seafood bought out as Entree then Main. The flavours and presentation were excellent. Followed by an amazing desert to share. Staff were all very friendly and attentive even though they were very busy. Such a lovely all round dining experience. We will be back for sure.
Great service beautiful view and fabulous food ! We will be back
Perfect celebration dinner relaxed great food and service love looking at the water view too.
