I’ve been coming here for years with friends since it’s inception 10 years ago. The atmosphere has improved vastly! Service, food, and professionalism is still being executed at a high level. Even the management stops and talks to you! The tall gentleman with the navy tie was very engaging - I’m glad they’ve hired competent managers. He even kept his cool with an older lady who was giving him a ribbing over split checks.
very convenient when going to the Landmark/ consistent food.
I had the cheeseburger this time. Good quality beef and tasty. My friend had a turkey burger and it comes with bacon. That seemed odd to us that bacon would be on a turkey burger. We had the vegetarian chili in the side (instead of fries). The chili was delicious! I highly recommend it.
I always love going to Westside Tavern. As a vegetarian, I am always able to find a tasty entree and the tempura green beans are to die for! Aioli is just a tad bit spicy but still doable. Service is always fantastic and so happy they take reservations now. I have been coming here since they opened years ago and nothing has diminished over time: food quality, ambiance, service - all top notch. Total resto love-fest!
Came here with my mother; it’s her favorite spot when I’m in town. The service, and food are exemplary. The maitre d Christopher also provided excellent service when we had an issue.
Couldn't eat Asian Chicken Salad because of taste had trouble getting attention of wait staff to complain. Have had dish before without problem taste of dressing was off. Left without eating dinner wasn't charged for dish
Service is consistently indifferent and terrible. We always have to track down our waiter or ask for help from another staff member. Food typically comes out cold and any even slight modifications are completely ignored.
Always great. Service terrific. When we request a booth your people always accommodate us. Thank you.
Had the cod while my husband had the fried chicken. Both delicious. Paired with a sweet and smoky margarita. Oh and the calamari is the best in the city. This is one place in LA that consistently delivers on service and food.
Some of the dishes were very good (black cod special and the beignets), while others were mediocre (broccoli with almonds and tagliatelle bolognese) for the value. Service was also great, but not exceptional. Ambiance is suitable for a special occasion, date, or just a night out with family/friends.
The food was very good, but the selection was somewhat limited. The noise level became too great to allow for conversation. A great location, but the noise factor was disappointing.
One of my favorite westside restaurants. Love the flatbreads, salads, sandwiches...love everything!
The server forgot to tell us the market specials so we thought our only choices were sandwiches and salads on printed menu. Market menu consists of all entrees. Disappointing we missed out on that.
Perfect place to dine after catching a movie at the Landmark. I hope every waiter was ae efficient as ours. The food matched the service.
Food, service, and management are the best.
as always, this restaurant serves good clean food, provides good service and the noise level is tolerable.
it is a pleasure to be there for dinner.
we dont like the foods. they dont know how to cook fish. we are not crazy about the menu. the service is excellent and patience. they understood us.
My friend and dining partner and I both enjoyed our dining experience very much!
She ordered the scallops entree and I ordered the salmon entree.
All of the staff...from the hostesses to our server Eduardo...were great.
And all of the staff members have provided great service to us throughout the years during which we have dined at Westside Tavern.
And we will continue to enjoy the great food and service that Westside Tavern has always provided to us.
Good food. Scallops risotto special was excellent. Really good burgers and fries. Try the spicy green beans appetizer - everyone loved it. Good service. Easy free parking.
Our waiter did not tell us the specials, which made us feel unattended to. We had to ask for our check several times. Otherwise, he remembered our order with all its special preferences and that was important. The noise level makes it difficult, AND most important, the restaurant is Always COLD.
The shrimp taco were different and not fried which I missed. Also other items on tacos were different. The mushroom flatbread was incredibly delicious and we will order again next time.
Our server “Melody” was terrific!
Food was great, as always and “specialty cocktail” was very good
I got very ill from the salmon burger. Could have been good poisoning.
Another nice lunch. Food and drinks were yummy and our server was great. Thank you!
Food was great. Chef is a little cocky as I only wanted a different cheese and though he said it would be done, it was not. Kind of crazy
Must go place for dinner before a movie at the Landmark. I don’t know how they do it, that place is absolutely packed before any weekend 8 o’clock show. But the staff is polite professional and efficient. So much fun and delicious
We both ordered the crab cakes. Unbelievably delicious. Very flavorful and served with butter lettuce and chunks of tomatoes and avocado. The crab cakes have some kind grilled flavor that was amazing. $24
We also had the hot chocolate which comes with 2 big squares of handmade marshmallows. Excellent. The one weird thing is when you ask for a spoon, they bring soup spoons. How can there not be teaspoons? $4
This place is great but the steak was so tough I didn’t eat it. Should have sent it back - don’t know why I didnt
I have noticed that they have change their menu to a very basic one. Hamburger and sandwiches? That’s it? There is no creativity in their menu anymore? Very sad. Now, the waiters look like they are in a rush and they throw you one plate after the other with out picking up the appetizer one. At the end, it looks disgusting to the customers the way the buss boy picks up all the plates at once trying to clean up all the food in front of you, piling up all together. This is not quite a good service for such a high level restaurant. Then lower the prices!
4:00 reservation. The evening lighting came on as the food was being served. We both had trouble seeing our food. Shrimp tacos were okay, just not as good as usual. Potato chips tasted store bought. You are still our favorite place in Westwood, and almost always get 5 stars from us.
Our server Lucile was excellent, a big happy smile and uplifting.
We went there after the dinner crowd, but had slow service. My husband wanted to walk out. The food was alright, we shared a burrata salad with greens, nuts and grilled peaches which I liked more than the poke with won ton chips, which was just ok. My husband had some cocktail, which was $14, and I had a craft beer, which was tasty and refreshing. Specials should be printed up on a sheet for patrons to read, not just mentioned by the waiter (which I couldn't hear as it was too loud), or on the board, which was not visible from seating need the window.
I live close by and The Westside Tavern is conveniently located, with nice servers and great food.
Following a screening, I had delicious vegetable chili, hummus and pita, topped with a glass of wine. Perfect food and ambience to discuss the movie.
The chicken mousse is a classic. The barbecue chicken flatbread is fabulous. I have only one complaint: The temperature could be raised a couple of degrees.
The Westside Tavern is a good place to met friends or business associates to talk over a good meal.
Reliable and fine for business lunches and meals with friends after movies. Especially now that they they they book in advance.
I love the place. Whether for a good meal before a film or a low key business meeting, this is an ideal spot. Delicious food and really terrific service, this is one of the most solid restaurants on the westside and perfect for meeting friends half way between the beach and Hollywood...
Great place to get good food before or after a movie at the Landmark.
The Westside Tavern is a convenient dining spot before or after a movie, and I've always enjoyed my meals here. My most recent dinner, however, was so poor, I will likely not come back. The corn soup tasted like it was out of a can; the corn bread was dry and tasted like it was out of a box; and the vegetables (a plate of Brussels sprouts and a plate of cauliflower) were both greasy and tasting of old oil.
