Waves on the Beach
As a restaurant, it is just perfect for casual group meals, a romantic dinner for two or for a more elaborate wedding – for which they are very well known. Their interior has an easy, coastal feel with comfortable furniture, letting the ocean take centre stage. With glassed walls allowing the maximums views of the ocean in front of you, the feeling of dining by the sea is as real as it gets.
Their team of chefs have created a seasonal and mouth-watering menu that complements the relaxed, seaside feel of the venue. There are also delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options and a daily specials board. The wine list is also generous in its diversity with sulphate-free, organic wines available as well as delicious local and interstate wines. There is plenty of paid parking right outside their door and they are open 7 days for lunch &

Ask for table next to the window and be sure to try the garlic bread! I've had the seafood bisque twice - first time amazing second time ordinary. Good menu with plenty of options.
Great location with lovely views. Excellent food and service. Only negative is noise level. This is not a place for a quite dinner for two. It can get noisy at times.
Food and service was great. Sitting by the window added to the experience
After some confusion around the booking and number to be seated, once sorted everything went smoothly.
Staff were excellent. Food was great. Menu limited due to Covid which was disappointing, however not enough to spoil what was on offer. Very much enjoyed.
We enjoyed our complete experience. Ambience, great position by the bay, excellent meal, and very attentive and friendly staff.
Food was pretty average, not worth the hassle of going out. There was also shards of ceramic in my food, but even without that blunder, the food wasn’t that good.
The staff were really nice though and very accomodating. They offered my partner and I free dessert because of the ceramic, and that was certainly the best part of the meal. Actually, the entree was very delicious as well. Only the main was below par.
Additionally, the staff had accidentally forgotten to refund me for the deposit that I had left, which I had to chase up the following day. Again, the staff were very nice and, of course, gave me the refund, but these were quite a few issues for one night out.
Extremely enjoyable , very helpful staff, food excellent, our first time there & will look forward to another booking. Being beach side is perfect
We enjoyed our meal, but the flapping of the roof due to wind damage was distracting, and the noise level we found unbearable. There was very little room between the long group table and the other tables - it would have been better to have been sitting at the other end of the restaurant. It was very difficult for my husband to get his walker between the tables.
I liked the position of the restaurant as it’s opposite to the beach. The menu has food variety to choose from to suit everyone’s needs. Definitely will be back in summer time to enjoy the beach view more.
My favourite restaurant in Frankston. Great food and value
Enjoyable quick lunch before a show at Frankston Arts Centre. Recommend.
Friendly welcome & staff lovely.
Garlic bread for starters which was a big serving for 2 people, followed by delicious garlic prawns .
Will definitely go again in the future.
Great service, friendly staff and the food won’t disappoint
From the moment I logged on to reserve the table to the greeting when we arrived all I can say is sensational. The food, drinks ,and service were impeccable best entree I have ever eaten. Regards. Murray Sheedy
We had a lovely meal last night and will be looking forward to returning to try some more dishes on their menu soon
I booked a table for 3. The venue was great, a table with water views, as requested, was appreciated. Service was very good. The food totally let the experience down. Whereas my friends went for entrees and salad, I went for a main as I was hungry. My vegan shepherds pie (I'm not vegan but was trying it out in case in case I wanted to take my vegan daughter in future) was so disappointing. Half the food compared to the entree sizes and double the price. The portion, presentation and flavours were underwhelming, to say the least, and I was left hungry (I'm not a big eater).
The service was friendly and fast. The meals were DELICIOUS and very fairly priced for the size and quality of them. I would 100% go back again and again
Not as great as it used to be, very loud inside & scallops very dried out, veggies tasty, chicken was good but barramundi was very oily. Older waitress was lovely, younger one was a bit disinterested and gave the wrong wine.
A lovely way to spend a sunny winters lunch. Great service, beautiful food.
Food was delicious. We will definately return again.
It was a sensational night it was a suprise party
The waves staff played along with the suprise and made it sooooo special
Many thanks again
Looking forward to many more visits at your wonderful restaurant
Food was very good as always but was a little disappointed that the menu had changed and my favourite meal was no longer there( fried cauliflower noodle salad ) Great options for a gluten free vegan though which is often hard to find.
We ordered an entree (2 People) to share plus 2 mains , mains are big meals , so much delicious food. Seafood amazing
Always good food and an enjoyable experience. Staff are accommodating and friendly
The food at Waves is always of a high standard, whatever you order, so we were not disappointed. Servings are very generous.
The service staff was friendly and efficient as always.
A much smaller number of diners in tonight so it was easy to hear the conversation, which is not always the case when Waves is busy (but then I have hearing aids and am hard of hearing!!)
Another great night.
My first time going there I definitely recommend can’t wait to go back, fantastic food and great customer service.
The view was great but chicken Parma way over cooked no sauce and tasty cheese used not mozzarella, waited over an hour for two parmas
Staff friendly & helpful. Nice view of the beach. Lovely food.
Thank you for providing a wonderful lunch for my mum and myself. Cathy
Booked on line with ease & paid deposit $10 pp. Everything from the welcome, table service, quality & quantity & value for money was spot on. We will all be back.
Food was lovely. Can highly recommend the barramundi. Service was a bit slow but I think staff
levels were low which is understandable coming out of lockdown
We had a great experience. Reduced numbers was good for us due to less noise. Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend
Very obliging staff. Courteous and promt service helped make a very enjoyable evening.
Everything very good except vegan meal. Only one option and while appreciate having an option at all, if only one available it should not be disappointing. It was a lot smaller than other meals for price, the entrees were much the same size and several items mentioned on menu were not in vegan one.
The setting and service were excellent.
Over priced average quality food. Had better value for money and quality from local takeaway shop. The food doesn't match the location.
Two of our table of five were very happy with their food. For the third diner the salmon was somewhat undercooked; the vegetarian dish containing jackfruit was so hot with chilli that the flavour of the other elements was lost; the vegetarian pasta was a bit bland and the peas in it hard.
The service was good and the setting overlooking the sea was delightful. A pleasant dining experience overall but could wish for some improvement by the chef, particularly with vegetarian food.
In terms of whether I would recommend Waves, you need to give a scale of 1-5. A yes/no answer is inadequate.
Waves has a beautiful beach view, lovely big windows. The deck area looks great, we went on a wintery damp day, so not appropriate for us.
The meals were huge, well presented and we all agreed we could have shared!
A lovely experience.
Excellent venue, lucky enough to have table by the window. Thank you.
Ate from vegan menu. A little limited in choices for the main dishes but surprisingly good. However a great range of vegan desserts
Great meal as always. Only lost points due to it being very noisy despite the numbers. Maybe due to so much glass and room not full plus everyone seated by windows so noise bouncing off. Hard to hear each other talk. Seating by window a bit chilly but I don’t mind that. Others might so ask for table across the room if you feel the cold.
