food was amazing! Service was very helpful. The seedfood platters are outstanding in the world.
Located on esplanade overlooking Yarra and back to CBD. Great to watch the world go buy. Thursday lunchtime. We were seated outside. Service was attentive. Food was excellent. We will be back.
This was a fantastic dining experience, we had a lovely Greek waiter who was very friendly and accommodating. The food was better than expected and we had our 5 year old with us so it was also kid friendly. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and location of restaurant, we will definitely be back in our next trip to Melbourne.
Was very impressed with the service and the food. We were seated at one of the best view points to watch the events on Southbank. We both had fish dishes which were cooked to perfection and the wine was reasonably priced. Would definitely come back with friends.
We had a nice family lunch with river views, friendly staff, lovely food. It was a special occasion, value for money.
Been twice in 2 weeks. Delicious food and surroundings. Definitely will be back
Great dinner at water front. Everything tasted and was presented perfectly, service was a little slow at times but overall was a great experience and will be back.
Oyster Kilpatrick , very poor value . Needed glasses to find any bacon.
Small and overpriced . Everything else good
Made reservations... took a $20 cab ride to get there... got there and they said, “Sorry we’re closing” I asked “then why do we have reservations?” .... sorry we’re closing... and rather rudely.... didn’t eat there.. and one thing is for sure, I never will!!
Service was quite good and we had an excellent table out the front overlooking the river. We had the clam chowder for entree which was pretty good but a bit small for the price tag. Or should be lower priced. Moreton bay bugs steamed in garlic butter was really fantastic. $65 price tag justified. We shared the seafood paella for main. This was disappointing. Rice was gluggy, no crisp base as a good paella should have, quite pedestrian really. Regretted ordering this.
Beautifuy prepared delicious meals... Wonderful ambience and service
I can honestly say that my Waterfront experience was fantastic & the best I have had! The food was amazing , interior decor was lovely and we received five star table service (a little slow at first) from the very pleasant waiter. Our new favourite restaurant around Southgate!
Had a great night the service was awesome meal was lovely only thing I thought my salmon was a bit over cooked but otherwise everything else was great
When you decide to experience a night out at an establishment like Waterfront, you obviously are guided by quality service and food. You know before you arrive that your wallet needs to be fairly large.
I happily emptied my wallet for a dinner for two, a special occasion. Great wine, exquisite seafood and service reflective of the prices.
Excellent in every way.
Very nice atmosphere very well trained staff, food was amazing would definitely recommend
Amazing food and great service. My wife and I dine here regularly and will continue to for many years to come
Excellent food quality, service, and location. A must visit restaurant in Melbourne
Food was ok not great. Don’t expect cooperation if you are on business and need separate checks. Over priced for what you get. Would probably not go there again there are many other restaurants along the water that are better.
Nice place and very nice location.
Food is good and good service.
Terrible service, they didn’t listen to us at all. First we asked for tap water and next thing we know we’re served still water (which we had to pay for), then I ordered a salmon dish which was essential salmon, mashed potato and peas with a sauce over them. I told them I was allergic to onions and shallots and asked that the meal have none, so they served me a plate of salmon and mashed potato and put everything I was allergic to in a side bowl on my plate - such a waste of food because I was never going to eat an item I’m allergic to! After our meals we had to sit around awkwardly waiting for the bill as our waiter seemed to forget we existed after we declined desserts. The food was well cooked and tasty, however it was expensive for what it was, and the terrible service really ruined the experience for us.
Wasn't sure what to expect. Excellent location on Southbank along the Yarra River. Usually places with good views don't have good food and coast on their location. Waterfront has the views, great food and excellent service. Even though I was by myself and there were people waiting for tables , they didn't rush me and were very accommodating. The seafood linguini was fantastic. So was the buratta and tomato side. It was a great way to spend my last night in Melbourne.
Nice location; great ambiance, but somewhat overpriced.
Excellent food but it has to be given the expense. Worth it while the standard remains best practice
Menu is a bit boring. Was looking for something special. Both had steak , beautiful meat, but the price for sides ridiculous. Will look elsewhere in future.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and great service.
Australian Seafood at its BEST! Had a great waiter who helped with good recommendations on food sizing. Came here for the Bugs and they certainly delivered. Great wine menu. Overaowe were really happy with a very nice evening on the deck watching the world go by with wonderful food. Would definitely return as plenty of other things to try.
The service is always fantastic. The food is absolutely great. All in all magnificent
Something for everyone, enjoyable experience indeed.
Had meal with overseas friends
Great service ,food well presented
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Waterfront before heading to the tennis. Great food and ambience and good value for the quality we received. Entrees, mains and dessert were all equally fresh and tasty. It made for a very special evening. 🥂🎾😊
Our salad was extremely overdressed; paella rice was over cooked and proteins were uncreatively incorporated into the dish (chicken wings, clumsy unshelled crab legs, disproportionate sausage and calamari to chicken and other seafood.) Overall the paella lacked flavor and seasoning and was heavy in tomato flavor. Clam chowder was stingy in clams that were also unshelled. The dish is more like a soup than a chowder. Taste was fine. Server was unhelpful.
Food and service excellent as ever. Thanks especially to our waiter.
My partner and I were given a $100 vochure for Waterfront which we lost. I spoke with the manager who advised vochures last for 6 months which mean ours expired.
I spoke with Lucy who then thankfully ‘honoured’ our vochure :)
Myself and my partner went on Sunday and got a table outside.
For starters we had 1/2 kg Morton bay bugs.
I had fillet steak. My partner had steamed barramundi.. everything was delicious!!!!
Service was great.
Drinks were great (they even made us a calypso coffee which was not on the menu)
seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh, seafood was not fresh,
Fabulous food and table thanks to Lucy for arranging the cosy round table for my husband and his parents .
Overall great , but the reason I didn’t give a five star is on two occasions and in the evening , I mentioned to the staff that it was my husband ‘s big birthday and if they could do a dessert , each time , they said yes but when we ordered our dessert , my husband the pavlova .. it was not till we started eating the waiter ploppped one candle on his dessert while he was half way through eating .. would have been nice if maybe they could have written with chocolate or something on his dessert plate happy birthday . I just felt everything was a bit rushed and lost that personal feel . Overall though great experience and we were listened to . Thank you
I contacted the restaurant 2 hours before my reservation and asked for a table with a view, no problem! When we arrived we were taken to our table and it was perfect. The service was very attentive and our drinks were ordered and on our table within minutes. We both ordered steaks and they were cooked perfectly. All aspects of the meal was ideal and I will definitely come back.
Lovely sushi & sashimi platter. We'd had it before and it was excellent. Not quite up to the same standard but still very good and worth the price. The prawns were smothered in a sauce that was too strong for seafood and not to my taste. Sauces are better on the side so the customer can decide how much, if any, to put on their food. Our waiter was great - there when we needed him but not overbearing. The tempura was also very nice. Comprehensive wine list and a good selection of beers.
Sensational service, food, drinks and atmosphere. Our friends from Brisbane always want to go to the Waterfront when in town.
We dined at the Waterfront on the occasion of our anniversary, and the choice proved perfect. We booked outdoor seating and were delighted to be seated next to the river side of the decking. This provided us with the very best view of the scenery and activity on the promenade and around the river with the city backdrop. The food was excellent with seafood, steak, and sorbet desert; together with the presentation, the drinks choices, and the attentive service it all added up to a five star experience.
What a disappointment. Totally over-rated. Food not good, service very slow and way over-priced for what we received.
