W Brisbane - Three Blue Ducks
Daily 11:30 am–3:00 pm
Daily 5:30 pm–10:00 pm
Fantastic design, amazing food - we were recommended the speciality of the Moreton Bay Bugs which were amazing. The staff were terrific and gave great recommendations.
The views from the terrace are lovely and this is a great city location. A trip above to the wet-deck is a must for the fun environment.
Food and service was amazing! Cannot fault the flavours or the wait staff! The only very (very) small downside was the it was rather noisy, not intimate dining if your looking for that! But would certainly (and will) return and recommend to friends! Massive thumbs up!
Hi, venue was cool and food and good, cauliflower cheese side dish was overcooked and dry but apart from that it was a good experience
Waiter at table and bar lady was very responsive and customer focused.
Was great just fish over cooked but great service have been too all there restaurant
The premise of the restaurant is locally sourced ingredients, and food done great.
They are NOT kidding. We ordered the 500gm Ribeye Fillet, with carrots and cauliflower cheese as sides.
This is to share, it's how the dishes are served.
We both rate this steak as the best we've ever tasted - far above other steak restaurants who claim to have the best steak in their city/state. Not that their steak is bad, per se, but Three Blue Ducks is on another level entirely.
The baby barramundi (fish of the day) was absolute perfection.
Fantastic meal and service, really good value too! Will definitely be back n
It was amazing!! Food was spectacular and the wine list was well thought out.
Food was great, service was ok but the restaurant was absolutely freezing
Food was fantastic although service a bit hit and miss with some ordered dishes not coming out, tableware and cutlery not replenished, significant delays with drinks being ordered and delivered. A nice spot for a casual lunch or breakfast but doesn't match up to other Brisbane Restaurants.
We really enjoyed our dinner. Busy Friday night crowd but the staff handled it with aplomb. The food is spectacular. The restaurant fit out is lovely. The views across the river are magic. We will definitely be back.
Upmarket funky cafeteria noise level is too high and can’t hear person next to you.
Food was great service was so so.
Everything was excellent. Our waitor Jarrod was friendly and gave great advice about the food and wine and wonderful customer service!
Visited for Group Lunch and took husband back for early dinner after work. Was great both times and restaurant has nice relaxing vibe with bonus of great food. Recommend all the small plates with friends but for couple the shared Lamb dish was amazing and hubby still raving about it.
This is the first time 3 Blue Ducks has visited the big smoke and it was with mixed results. The food was good - fresh and simple, making the most of the grill and wood fired oven. The babaganouj was smoky and creamy and the accompanying charred flat bread was some of the best I've had. I'd be happy with a few pieces of that as a bar snack any time. Haloumi and Beets were tasty, particularly with the addition of grapes as was the main of Maple Glazed w Mint and Mixed Grains. Another shared main of Porchetta w apple & mustard was the best dish of the night (except for that bread). It was all enjoyable but nothing special or amazing or very different from the many restaurants in West End or Paddington or the Gabba.
It's a big venue, doubling as the breakfast room in the W Hotel. Simply decorated in a mix of Scandi furniture and wicker light shades, it's also full of hard surfaces that make the restaurant incredibly noisy. The 'big hotel' feel doesn't seem the match the vibe that 3 Blue Ducks is going for ie: laid back sun & surf with a side of farmhouse aesthetic. Setting aside the room, the service started well but slid off fairly quickly. Once orders were placed and entrees served, that was pretty much the last we saw of the wait staff. We had to work hard to order more drinks and even after the restaurant started to empty, sat for at least 15 minutes with no one coming near us before I asked for a dessert menu. Trying to get the bill was equally as frustrating. Everyone is very 'busy' but none of them seemed to be busy serving customers.
It's early days and hopefully the service will improve. The odd combination of Byron Bay meets International Hotel Chain may be more difficult to reconcile. There was nothing essentially wrong with the place but I think I'm more likely to head over the bridge to South Brisbane.
Exceptional food, lovely seasonal menu. Good choice of wine by the glass and craft beers. Kitchen and waitstaff went out of their way to accommodate for food allergies, waitstaff knowledgeable on menu.
Lovely night out celebrating!
Great food and great atmosphere. Only recommendation is to have a little more of a varied menu. But it was a great time!
Limited menu, and a lot less flavoursome than I expected from Three Blue Ducks, based on past dining experiences at The Farm at Byron. Upmarket airport lounge / cafeteria vibe. Staff were great, but a rather underwhelming experience overall. Unlikely to bother going back.
Great service! Really enjoyed the food. Beautiful setting and great view across the river to Southbank.
Best out of all The Three Blue Ducks restaurants. Food amazing, great service and fabulous setting. Wine a bit expensive but a good selection.
Outstanding!! The food was sensational! The service was amazing! ...please change the music though and the ambience would be perfect!!
We were extremely impressed with all aspects of this restaurant. Our request for a table move to a quieter area of the restaurant was happily accommodated. We decided on shared entrees and mains. This was an excellent way of experiencing some of the many and diverse taste sensations The Three Blue Ducks are serving. Our wait staff gave some very interesting insight into the sourcing of produce and cooking techniques, all of which contributed to an overall very impressive dining experience.
We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Our waitress was lovely and provided great service. It was clear though that they are new as some small mistakes were made and it took a long time to get our mains. But they will find their stride soon and those small teething problems will disappear. The food is excellent and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend going here.
Fantastic food and service, a superb addition to Brisbane'd dining scene
Good food, but went for a special occasion dinner and left very disappointed. Apart from the poor service, which hopefully will be sorted out over time, it felt like eating in a noisy cafeteria. Sorry, but definitely not recommended for dinner - especially at these prices.
We chose to share Tandoori Quail and house bread between the 2 of us. The quail was just cooked but needed more charring on the skin and the tandoori marinade was too subtle and easily overpowered by the (very tasty) yoghurt. The sourdough was useful to mop up the sauces. The lamb shoulder was tasty and tender, had a good crust and the accompanying zucchini salad delightful. It was definitely large enough for 3 to share, but a shame we couldn't taken the remaining third home with us. Cocktail list was great and wine list could have had more regional variety. Having said that it was a very enjoyable night and our waiter Joe was engaging, attentive and helpful.
Fantastic food with a brilliant view. The menu is well curated with the perfect amount of options balanced with broad variety of tastes and cuisine. The drink was well priced and the drinks menu was well laid out, approachable yet extensive. Overall a fantastic date night spot but with various other opportunists for other dining/drinking experiences. Oliver our waiter was kind of approachable, I will definitely be reccommending Three Blue Ducks to friends and family and I will be sure to come back.
Trendy decor, good atmosphere, great food and wonderful, attentive wait staff.
Will recommend this venue and will definitely be back!
Too simple it’s just like grilled prawn and grilled fish no flavour much !!!!
Bugs is yummy, everything is fine except that we've waited for over half hour before we get the main. That's quite a long waiting time. Improve needed.
Lovely space in the new W hotel. Great views and plenty of natural light. Menu was impressive and food was focused on char but fell short of flavour expectations. For example, lovely meaty prawns grilled but served with very bland vegetable accompaniment not dressed or well paired.
We enjoyed our meal - but disappointed we were seated towards the “rear”. Would have been nice to have a window seat. Will go again
The restaurant wasin a spectacular position overlooking the river and Southbank. It was spacious and comfortable. Recommend for a special occasion.
Wait staff need better training
Fabulous restaurant and the mussels are to die for! Stunning decor throughout the hotel. Will definitely go back again soon.
The food was Awesome, friendly staff, and turn around time from ordering was very quick. 10/10
Dining experience and service was great! Location and decor was lovely. Roast chicken and potatoes were dry. Lamb shoulder needed sauce/jus. Would probably just go for atmosphere and drinks next time.
3 Blue Ducks has just opened at the W and the vibe is that service staff are still learning the ropes. The food from the kitchen is very good, suggest their will be a little more polish in a couple of weeks. The mains we had were great, one of the entrees was a little disappointing but overall I rate it will.
Great view out towards the Brisbane eye a change from the Eagle Street view of so many others.
I would go again however it has great potential.
The food was excellent and the staff tried very hard but were a bit out of their depth with the wine list. We started off in the bar upstairs first, however the entire hotel had run out of Moet Ice and by the time they could communicate this we needed to get to the restaurant as the kitchen closes at 3.15pm. Again there were certain wines we selected that they had also run out of. My thoughts, a business that is 3 weeks old shouldn't be running out of any premium products and if you do, get onto your wine rep and get it sorted ASAP. Overall, great restaurant with a few teething problems.
The food was not a hit with our group. For example, one chicken meal was dry, the other undercooked, very lacking in flavour as described in the menu and served with a large chunk of uncooked, inedible sweet potato. This was pretty much the standard for most of our party of 11, two or three of us were content with our meals out of all of us.
The view is great, the restaurant looks great, the wait staff were trying to please but seem to be a little inexperienced, I would suggest a change in head chef perhaps is needed to bring the food standard up to what you would expect for the hotel and prices.
It would have become a favourite for our group Sunday lunches had the food been great.
