Vue de monde
Vue de monde has been synonymous with Melbourne dining for almost 20 years, continuing to present an exciting and dynamic experience with a progression of flavours and sense of curiosity. The whimsical spirit at the heart of the Vue de monde menu has not been lost throughout the years, with the lighter-handed and more natural approach to cooking being no less infused with theatre.

Such wonderful attention to detail in both presentation and food. A wonderful evening.
This is the 7th time we have eaten at Vue de monde and it didn’t disappoint. The menu retained a couple of classics in addition to which there were new tastings that were interesting and made you forget past favourites.
Accompanying the food was great attentive service that, as always, makes us feel special.
The view is one of the best in Melbourne and tops off the experience.
The only negative was the price. At $310 per per person for the Chefs menu and $110 for my wife to have tea pairing. Fortunately we don’t drink so the overall bill is ok for a special occasion.
We will be returning in 12 months to see what new tastings await us.
Beautiful views! Beautil Service! Amazing food!
For the price they are charging the food was not that great, Attica was way better and worth every penny.
I celebrated my partner’s 50th birthday at Vue De monde..
We had the most wonderful experience… the food, the ambience, the people, the view the list goes on and on..
It’s the best restaurant we’ve ever been to and an experience that we’ll definitely talk about for years to come..
Carlos was such a superstar, we were blown away by his knowledge of wine..
Thank you so much..
Amazing ! Beautiful view , staff and lovely food ! What Else !
Went in with neutral expectations because of all the hype I’ve heard
Definitely lived up to the hype
Was fantastic, everything about it.
Amazing food and venue. Service was lacking at times, with a number of errors being made, which was not what we expected for this restaurant.
Honestly this restaurant never disappoints. The food is incredible and so picture perfect. The flavours are incredible. But it’s the service that sets it apart. From the chefs to the wait staff they are absolutely professional but also genuinely love what they do. It’s the team that brings us back time and time again.
A fantastic experience! We had a lot of fun and the service was outstanding! We enjoyed and were impressed with every course.
A Magical evening. The view the magnificent food and service made it a memorable occasion
Spectacular, incredible attention to detail and a very memorable birthday lunch (this was the best dining experience I have ever had)
Vue's atmosphere is always very warm and welcoming. The food is incredible but the staff really make the experience worth it; they were very attentive, kind and jovial and they never disappoint every time I dine here. The marron is to die for, the butter is always a highlight but this time the damper they served it with was INSANE. The celeriac black truffle dish? Excellent! A very memorable night. I can't wait to have an excuse to come back again.
Exceptional customer service. Not my first time at VDM, and always pleasantly surprised the food just gets better and better every time.
Everything was perfect, great food and service. Will be back
We were seated at the front of the restaurant, right at the door. The table was huge and I could barely hear my husband as we were so far away and had so much noise from the bar and foot traffic from other patrons coming and going. All night, there were drunk people from the Liu bar walking in and out. Ambience was really quite terrible. I couldn’t help but stare at the door. It was also where the waiters set up their station. I thought it was really poor form for the restaurant to offer this table as a seating area to be completely honest. It’s a far cry from the other tables which seemed far more intimate and appropriate. I don’t mind spending money on amazing food, and we have plenty of it in Melbourne. This was just fine. Nothing mind blowing. I was really quite disappointed.
This was our third time at V d M
The first two were when Shannon Bennett owned it and we had such amazing food.
Whilst this 3rd time was still great the food was a little different particularly the flavours.
We were dropped off at the back entrance which was closed so unfortunately we had to walk the complete block around to the front entrance
Great meal in a beautiful location
Great and imaginative menu. Very well informed and helpful staff. Great views of the city just add to the experience.
A beautiful dining experience, the food & staff were amazing
Great food and top views.
This restaurant is 7 star. It was so different from anything we have had.
Loved it and will be back.
Food was not value for the price. I think they need to get back to basics and stop creating dishes for the sake of it
The Chefs tasting experience was wonderful . The serving sizes were perfect for multiple plates. Not to iverfacing.
Best courses were White truffle and celeriac tart and the chocolate soufflé.
Master Sommelier Dordon was so professional and the wines he suggested for us were outstanding.
This place blew my mind, from the moment I walked into the elevator shooting up to the 55th floor there was a sense that this place was something special, the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the food was art and the wine list was very impressive. There is no chance any of what we experienced can be replicated at home, we were taken on a food and wine journey that surpassed all of our expectations.
This is our go-to place when we want to treat ourselves. Yes it’s expensive but if you think of it as a whole dining experience, not just a meal, it’s worth it in spades. Each time we go, the menu is always inventive and artfully presented, a mixture of classic repeat dishes but always fresh additions which makes returning always exciting. The view alone is speaks for itself, and no other restaurant compares, let alone the open kitchen allowing diners to watch the excitement and well oiled machine of the kitchen staff smashing out perfect dish after perfect dish. And what sells it for me, along with the incredible food, is the amazing staff, who time and time again excel at making you feel special, taking the time to explain the dishes with enthusiasm but clearly are knowledgeable about the food being presented. Half the time you are presented the food by the chef who has prepared that dish. You never feel rushed, and they are always happy to have a chat, ever attentive but not intrusive, and genuinely feel like they enjoy their job. I wondered if they would’ve struggled during Victoria’s lockdown, but it’s great to see that the business values their staff and took care of them during the closures. Ignore the stupid Michelin ranking system that doesn’t do VdM justice, skip Attica, and do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of the best restaurants not just in Australia but in the world.
Second time dining here and it really is the best fine dining experience in Melbourne. Faultless service, food, theatre and ambience. Also being a day out of lockdown in Melbourne, we remarked how it felt like a totally normal dining experience, in that it is already intimate. Generous wine match and a well balanced menu leaving you perfectly satisfied.
Couldn't recommend highly enough, what a fabulous way to spend an afternoon.
An amazing experience. Obviously it is expensive but you know that going in and it is a very special experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
What an amazing experience! We went here for my wife's graduation dinner. All staff that served us congratulated her on her achievement, which made her feel really special. Additionally, she brought her graduation bear with her, which they also made feel welcome and special.
Food was amazing! We both were very full by the end and had certainly had our tastebuds activated!
I have been looking forward to comming here for the longest time. Some of the dishes were a bit unusual but the Marron and the Steak were outstanding
Had an amazing night of celebration and really good food!
Fantastic dining experience with wonderful staff. We especially loved the inventive dishes as well as the theatre with which they are served with. For fine dining with the essence of Australia, I’d highly recommend this place.
Ours was a special occasion at Vue de Monde to mark the 100th birthday of Maisie. She felt very welcome as did our three week old grandson. Those of is in between had a magnificent meal. The wine service from Carlos was outstanding. He is knowledgeable, passionate and generous. A great day!
A great day out
The soufflé was the highlight! The ability to make it lactose free was outstanding! Will definitely come back
I can’t imagine a more perfect night. The food and wines were impeccable as usual. The show stealers were the team members who looked after us so brilliantly. To Raj, Ben, Dorian, Hugo, Nicole, Hugh and everyone else who went above and beyond to make it the night of our lives, thank you so much.
What an amazing experience to help us celebrate a milestone birthday! Vue de Monde is more than just amazing food. It is fine dining hosted by knowledgeable and proud staff, in an amazing location but done in a relaxed and casual way. The warmth and generosity of the staff made us relax and allowed us to have lots of fun. We were encouraged to ask questions about the food and wine and the behind the scenes tour of the kitchen allowed us to interact with the talented people who proudly shared their stories. 10/10 celebration!
No where compares to Vue. A must try experience. Highly recommended.
An outstanding restaurant with magnificent views only beaten by the quality and presentation of the food.
Our waiter James was exceptional and took us on a journey. The food was amazing and I’ll definitely come back.
We had a great night out. everything was of an excellent level - the setting, the staff, the ambience and of course the food. every dish was extremely enjoyable. it was expensive, but a wonderful overall experience. highly recommended
Our experience at Vue de monde exceeded all expectations.
The staff went above and beyond for customers and the food was exceptional. The view, of course, was also something to remember!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Vue de monde and do hope to dine again sometime soon.
Thank you Vue de monde and all of the wonderful staff.
