Vue De Monde
Dinner: Daily: open
What Insiders Are Saying
Vue de Monde might be tasting-menu only, but it still feels pretty casual and it has views from the 55th floor of the Rialto.
Excellent, However would not allow for us to take the Birthday cake as a take away.
The Chef's choice degustation is an incredible culinary experience. Every mouthful of food i had was delicious and the wait staff are very attentive and knowledgable.
If i had my experience i would choose to do the second sitting so that i could space my courses out a little bit. I struggled to finish the last few courses because i was simply too full.
Excelent food, and extraordinare service. One of the best restaurants we have visited. Waiters with great knowledge of what they served, good information about food and vine. Excelent chef
The only negative thing we have, is that we had booked a table at 18.00 We were informed that we had the table for 2 hours, and that is good. We ordered the tasting menue, 17 courses. 2 hours is not enough time to enjoy this menue, like it deserves to be enjoyed. The tempo of the courses is a litle bit to high
My experience was amazing, the attentiveness of staff was refreshing and having each dish explained was a nice touch.
Will definitely dine again when in Melbourne.
It is the perfect degustation menu. It reminded us of Australian nature. It was like going on a hike but on your fork. And everything was taken with such care and delicacy.
And not just the food, everythin else is so well thought. I won't spoil the details.
It is indeed expensive, but truly worth it. 9/10.
The only 'but' is that we are slow eaters and, even though we stayed there almost 3h, we would not have minded having some extra time to enjoy a coffee at the end at the end of the meal.
Vue du Monde was an experience of a lifetime. Kind of when you meet your soul mate and you have those butterflies that make you feel excited in a you don’t know what to expect kind of deal but way way better
Would definitely go for more when I can afford it
Simply magical and the best food experience of my life
One of the best degustation menus I have ever had. Fantastic wine pairing and great service.
The perfect place for a long 4 hour dinner. Exquisite food and wine pairing available. No children and no loud tables. We are from Queensland, and Vue de monde is on the top of our list for that special occasion when we visit Melbourne.
I had a fantastic time. The food was beautiful and the service was great. Not quite Michelin star as I’d hoped reading the reviews but really beautiful evening and absolutely stunning views of the city
As an avid foodie, this was the best dining experience I have ever had. Every course was spectacular and the theatre with it all and atmosphere was amazing! Service was exceptional, all the staff were extremely attentive and made the experience that much better!
Was an amazing dinner for my partner and I
Food was top class best we have had for a very long time, the service from the waiters was great :)
We would highly recommend to friends and family
Was a great date night
Few problems with finding our booking at the start but got sorted quickly and from there on in the experience was amazing.
It was a beautiful experience, and one we will speak so highly of! All the waitstaff were attentive, courteous and very friendly. We received great recommendations with wines and drinks and even cheeses! I would happily dine here again and again.
Fantastic experience. will for sure be back
Really happy with the team at Vue. The staff were fantastic, knowledgeable and attentive without being over enthusiastic. The food was delicious, inventive and different without being over the top. The wines were just delicious and we walked out of there very happy!
The View and the Service
Amazing food and excellent service. If Australia had a Michelin guide this would be a 3 star restaurant.
We enjoyed our evening. The quality of the food was exceptional and variety of the food was interesting. We all just had one issue, there were too many courses with not enough breaks between each, by the time we got to the dessert courses we were way too full to really enjoy them.
A very interesting and unique degustation menu with strong ties to Australian sourced foods and culture. It was mostly delicious - couple of things I didn't love (eel wrapped in potato?!) but some were amazing (marshmallows with melting chocolate middle fire pit cooked direct at your table. Oh my gosh!). Don't let the early courses fool you - you will be stuffed even though the portions are deliberately bite-sized! The waiters were AMAZING - really made the whole experience and knew their stuff.
Very good experience all together. Attentive staff and theatrical presentations .food could be much more better though. Most dishes were over salted. Would be nice to provide the choice to salt on table with different types of salt instead .some flavours contredicted each other. Eg: creamy fermented mushroom with finger lime in it. Finger lime is of course the caviar of the vegetable world. But didnt go well with the very lovely mushroom purée.
But over all a wonderful experience.
The food, the service, the ambience, the view, the whole experience...magical!
Perfect. Energetic staff in a very contemporary setting with magnificent views of beautiful Melbourne. Food was prepared magnificently and extremely tasty. Love that you can see the chefs dishing it all up. My mother was very happy with her birthday experience. Tables are very large and well spaced and the host was very accommodating of all our needs and questions.
Was so good because it had 17 different tasting plates and all were tasty.
Many of the 17 dishes were absolutely delicious and we hoped we had more! But the serving size is good, enough to taste and we were really full at the end of the meal. Service was just as amazing as the food, especially this waitstaff called Robin that stood out because he genuinely cared what we commented about the food and was very friendly. Amazing place!
Our dinner at the Vue De Monde was extraordinary. Each dish was presented meticulously and tasted better that it looked.
I highly recommend everyone try the Vue De Monde, you won't regret it. It's an experience my husband and I will never forget.
The level of service and the quality of the food was exceptional. The cost of the matched wines was rather expensive = we chose the lowest cost of $200.00 per person. We found the views stunning in both the cocktail bar and the restaurant. We did not enjoy having to stand at a bar stool to have our pre dinner drink, and were happier when we were offered a bar stool at the counter. We found the black decor in both the entrance, lift and bar overwhelming. Thanks for making the birthday so special
There is no one to answer the phone. Lots of raw meat and seafood so if you don't like eating raw is not for you. No children menue.
we celebrated our 1st year anniversary and it was indeed a beautiful night , food was delicious , staff are very friendly and the view was absolutely stunning --it was truly a memorable night and my boyfriend was so impressed .we both like the suckling pig and the plum sorbet , definitely will be coming back and would recommend it to our friends..
Incredible dining experience. Exceptional food, wine and service. Totally unique and we loved the use of local products. It was by far the most interesting and best dining experience my partner and I have ever had. We highly revommend and will definitely do it again soon. Thank you
Fabulous!!!! Great for a special occasion!
An absolutely amazing dining experience that I highly recommend any foodie.
Would definitely go again
Exceptional food quality with very wide wine selection to accompany the dishes. Excellent attention to detail by serving staff.
The best meal of our lives !
Until this day I still cannot get over the duck breast I had. It was one of the most memorable dishes of my Melbourne holiday. Everything looked like a plate of art that was cooked to perfection. Thank you for accommodating us with a last minute booking! I felt like I was entering some kind of secret food society when entering the restaurant. I cannot wait to come back!
The food was superb.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Everything you would expect from a fine dining experience and more.
View of the sunset was gorgeous.
My wife and I went there on one Thursday night for our 3rd anniversary. The food and wines were exceptional and the service from the staff (thanks Chris!!) were top-notch.
We had the "signature Chefs Tasting Menu" and everything there (15 of them) were all excellent quality, and the wines that were recommended to us were also excellent and paired with the dishes beautifully.
We will definitely be going back there again for our next celebration.
Best dining experience of my life
My wife’s birthday. A very special occasion that was made even more special and personal by the most welcoming and engaging staff.
It’s not dining IT’S AN EXPERIENCE and one that we both agreed we will be enjoying again.
Thank you all for a wonderfull evening
Very disappointed to arrive at 5.15, kept waiting in the cold for 20 minutes downstairs (my wife had cloaked her coat as we were told we would be escorted upstairs shorty!!!) before being taken to the bar (whilst other later arrivals were taken up before us!!!).
15 minutes to get a drink and by then it was time to sit down for dinner and not be able to enjoy a pre-diner drink in the comfort of the bar.
