VIVO Mediterranean Grill & Catering
The restaurant’s upscale vibe resonates with old world authenticity. Once the mansion home to glamorous Rudolph Valentino, the setting is both elegant and stylish, offering sun filled, traditional Ballrooms, a decidedly urban vibe in the Dining Room, hand crafted cocktails at the Bar and Lounge, and al fresco dining on the Patio adjacent to manicured gardens and gazebo.

Food was good I would go back for dinner
It was great
My second time here. Lots of graduation dinners taking place and I thought it would be too loud and unpleasant. It wasn't. It was a bit noisier than I care for, but certainly not distracting from the conversation at my own table. Everyone enjoyed the food and the wait staff was attentive despite the large parties she was also servicing. I recommend this restaurant.
We have eaten there twice since May 31st and both times were superb. The second time, we brought friends and they loved the Lobster with Linguini and Shrimp Scampi, two of my favorite dishes...Our waiter Coty was attentive and pleasant- and of course Loretta, the hostess, was gracious as always. I tried the branzino, which was fresh and deboned to perfection. I highly recommend Vivo - a bright spot in northern Queens and above the rest.
The food and the service were good. They do not have a children’s menu but they will make smaller portions for them.
Convenient location for those traveling from the Bronx or CT and Long Island. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Good variety. Drinks watered down...
terrific hostess and waitstaff
My Chicken Parm was a little too salty, bu very good. Ambiance was very nice.
This restaurant is in a very nice space, but every establishment here since Caffe on the Green shuttered suffered from an inadequate kitchen. VIVO seems to be different. The relatively new chef produces a number of dishes that are not overly fussy, but are tasty and well presented. The menu has an adequate number of choices across a range of alternatives. Doesn't seem focused on Mediterranean, and maybe could use a few more Italian-oriented dishes in an appeal to the neighborhood clientele. Again, the best quality food served in this space in years. An interesting drinks menu too.
Service was excellent from very pleasant and attentive staff.
Would recommend this restaurant to family and friends, and will definitely go back. Just hope diners haven't given up on this space because of the shortfalls at so many of VIVO's predecessors.
Amazing food and service! The staff is friendly and very attentive.
This was an amazing experience, especially for a mother’s day celebration. Food, service and ambiance was fantastic!!
I’m guessing there are new Owners?? The vibe is completely different than prior visits and they ran out of some things so I am guessing this is the first Mother’s Day that they have put together. The place was so loud you couldn’t hear conversations within our own party. We’ve experienced better in this place.
Thank you so much for your review. We have owned VIVO! for the last 2 years. Our entire staff works very hard tp make each experience enjoyable and memorable. From the House-Made Granola Parfaits to the extensive brunch menu to Hand-Crafted Desserts ending with Truffles for the Mom's; we made sure that nothing would run out so all our guests would have a great afternoon and enjoy what we had to offer. I would not recommend the Mother’s Day brunch , first time at Vivo, heard good things about the daily dinner but from this experience not looking to return anytime soon.
Thank you so much for your feedback but I am curious about your experience. The Mother's Day Brunch menu is very different then our normal dinner menu. Chef Paul Von Wieding works hard with his Culinary Team to create menus that are enjoyed on these special occasions so feedback like this to us is very important. Hoping you will join us for dinner one night so you can experience Chef Paul's Dinner Menu. [Kevin A. Mattner, VP]
Great service. Wine is chill and well served. Food are good.
Service was outstanding. Our waiter catered to our specific needs and gave us time to chat and enjoy our leisurely brunch. Food was delish!

Wonderful Easter dinner at VIvo! Great service, delicious food and beautiful interior.
Vivo Restaurant has lovely ambiance. The menu was a bit pricey, but I knew that from the menu on the computer. We had eleven people and no complained about the food, my Dad who is 101 Years old was hoping for Chicken Marsala, but he refused to request it. The dining room was decorated beautifully. The service was excellent.
Food very well prepared and presented, wait staff tries hard to please but Avoid around holidays gets too noisy - large tables of people with lots of screaming kids for dinner 7-8:30 pm making it very hard to hear your companions and over whelming staff. They should have considered separating out the large parties of 10 or more ( especially with a lot of 3 to 11 year olds) into a different room so that smaller tables of adults could enjoy their meals leisurely.
Food was very good though nothing exceptional! Service, on the other hand, was outstanding! Cocktails were delicious. A little on the noisy side.
Delicious food, terrific service! A gem we just discovered on way back from airport. Will definitely be back again.
Great staff. Loretta, the hostess, is incredibly attentive and so pleasant. From apppitizer to dessert wonderful service. Loved the entertainment by Eddie Sessa.
Emily our waitress was superb. She was courteous, very friendly, accommodating and made
you feel welcomed as a guest. The food was excellent and the decor is elegant. The parking
was also excellent.I will definitely return in the near future.
Shrimp cocktail was way too chewy. Chicken parmigiana was very tough. Won’t be back.
I have been to this restaurant many times. I came with my sister who had never been there. She LOVED it.
The food was wonderful the service good
My only complaint would be the noise level. It was really difficult to have a conversation. I like the other side of the room better closer to the bar. It’s quieter
I love the comfortable dining environment. The staff is friendly and the chef always accommodates my food allergies. The food is always fresh, beautiful presentation and most of all delicious.
Delicious meal with top flight service.
A bit more upscale than I was expecting, but I didn't feel uncomfortable being dressed-down. Very comfortable environment. The noise level was moderate, allowing for pleasant conversation. The food was delicious and the potions were generous. The wait staff was cordial and attentive. We were surprised to see that we had been there close to three hours - no one rushed us out. Will go again.
My family had a great experience at Vivo. We had a party of 6 for my fathers 84th birthday. The server and all the staff were fantastic. They were so patient with my Dad. Always professional and courteous. The food was delicious! The shrimp were huge! I had fantastic bouillabaisse, the duck (special) was perfect, and Swordfish very tasty. For dessert we shared tiaramasu and it even got compliments from my Italian parents! Beautiful, clean, and a wonderful dining experience. We can hardly wait to go back!
Caught up with my beautiful friend on National Margarita Day! Cheers! It was a wonderful dinner in a wonderful place.
Loved this restaurant when it was Vivaldi's. Was a bit leery of going to the new restaurant. It did not disappoint. My husband had the burrata appetizer - it was amazing. The presentation was beautiful. The combination of burrata with the caramelized onions, mesclun salad, balsamic reduction and smoked prosciutto was incredible. My branzino was delicious and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be going back!! Soon!!!
Had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner at Vivo that was superb from start to finish. Enjoyed the creamy lobster bisque filled with chunks of lobster...the steak for 2 was perfect...and the huge chocolate covered strawberries were just the right touch to end this romantic dinner. Our fellow diners quietly conversed while the live band played songs that brought back many memories - the champagne was a sweet touch. Last, but not least, "Thank you, Loretta!" We don't usually dine out on this holiday, having been disappointed so many times before, but Vivo was a refreshing change.
Valentine's Day proved to be too much for the kitchen and staff to handle. Appetizers came out late after we told our waiter they never came. To their credit, a manger brought the appetizers and comped our drinks. Our main course of filet mignon came out overcooked. My guess is that it was ready to serve us and when the apps were late, the entrees were kept warm.
Love everything about this restaurant!!! Highly recommend.
Very presently surprised. Have been there before (a few years ago). Food and service has improved.
Everything we had was on point. New local favorite.
Have eaten dinner here several times, and brunch once. Located in an old mansion that once belonged to silent film star, Rudolph Valentino; the service is impeccable, food is of high quality, and their cocktails are on-point.
Needed a place near cemetery. Was so pleasantly surprised and pleased
I went there for an early new years eve dinner, 5:30 sitting, had a price fixe menu, 3 combinations, food was so so, almost like a wedding. rushed out by 7pm, and expensive, $65 per, without drinks
