We went for lunch during the week which is all advised. Many menu items including spatzle weren't available. Beer selection and fried stuff were available. Half dozen parties in the dining room but on a crowded night, this place could get pretty loud. Service was fine but couldn't get what I went there for 😕
Service was slow, maybe we should've sit in the dining area vs bar.
Food was ok, not great.
Beer selection was awesome.
Very crowded and loud. The food was average at best.
We had a lovely evening, made us feel like we were back in Germany! The food was delicious and large serving sizes. The beer was tasty and the staff was friendly. We look forward to our next visit!
The food was good, but not great. The Kassler Rippchen was disappointing, a bit tough to be honest. They weren't currently serving the Kleinehax'n, unfortunately. The Zwiebelrostbraten was pretty good.
Great selection of beers! The waitress was very attentive, so plus marks there.
A bit louder than expected, too.
Overall 3.5 rounded up.
Good food and service. Large meals definitely bring your appetite.
Awesome place. Good place to takes reservations for large groups. Good selection of food and beer. Friendly staff. Worth coming back.
Food and beer are phenomenal! Seating was adequate but hard wood seats made for a want to shorten the time enjoying the fare. Will return if only for the selection of beer.
Plenty of social distancing so the bar and restaurant areas were quiet. Took longer than expected to have the bar staff take our food order but otherwise had a great time. The food and beer are terrific.
When we got there, we waited at the host stand for almost 5 minutes before a waitress, Isadella, came. I told her we had reservations, and she sat us. She told us she would be our waitress and that she’d be right back. 40 minutes went by and we had to call her over and she didn’t apologize. I asked her why it’s taking so long and she blamed it on her waitress and was not apologetic one bit. We left and won’t be back
Great experience ! Great food and ambience
The place was way too crowded. Did seem like the place implemented any restrictions on the occupancy.
Food and service were amazing!
Our Goulash soup appetizer cup was like warm and too spicy. My Wienerschnitzel was good and breaded well. French fries tasted okay. The zwiebelrostbraten was also luke warm as were the spaetzle.
Excellent food. Great service!
Shame it was so empty on Christmas Eve.
There were two tables of 6 or more that were seated before we arrived that were still there when we left. They had finished eating and were just hanging out without masks nursing their oversized beers. Would normally not be a big deal if not for the pandemic.
Good beer and giant pretzel. Food took forever, came out incorrectly, server never checked in on us. Might only go back for beer but nothing more.
The food was delicious, but the service was very poor. We waited a long time just to get our beers, and then they messed up my dad's drink order. Then it took them a while to bring a new beer and also our food, and they forgot to remove the mistaken drink from the bill! I also saw a table of atleast 20 people by the bathroom, which doesn't seem safe with COVID. Would not recommend.
LOVE!! Will definitely go back. Food is awesome and great service!
we enjoyed our brunch very much! Zach our waiter was very accomodating, attentive to our needs, and made every effort to make us feel at home. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations.
The brunch was amazing. The schnitzel and waffles was so filling.
Our server/bartender, Bryson, was friendly and provided great service !! Hope to return soon!!
Good place for our guys night. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the German beer. Service was awesome and food was great. Can't wait to go back.
Badly cooked schnitzel badly presented. Not a serious restaurant
Great service!
Great Bavarian tavern with authentic feel. Good food and great beer selection!
Fine for a casual get together. Overpriced for what it is and pretty banal experience.
We went for our Anniversary and LOVED every minute of it!! From the beers to the meals and all in between. This place was on point for anyone looking for the taste of Bavaria...down to the ketchup!!!! We will be back and have already told friends about it. Keep up the good work!!
While the food was good, overall we were disappointed. It began when we entered the restaurant. We had reservations via OpenTable and upon arrival no one acknowledged us. Finally after several minutes of just standing there the bartender said sit anywhere, never asking if we had OpenTable reservations or anything. We seated ourselves and again after a few minutes a waitress came to ask if we wanted drinks and give us a minute. There was a menu available via scan/app. We ordered drinks and appetizers; they came quickly and were very good to taste. We ordered our meal and that was the last we saw of our waitress until our main was served. The food was good, we felt the restaurant was understaffed and didn't care if we were there or not. We finished our main and ordered desert, which again was well prepared and tasty. After receiving the bill, we paid and left, never receiving a thank you or come again. We will not be returning.
Everything was great. Tony was especially good! Many thanks.
Great Bavarian atmosphere! Went for Oktoberfest, enjoyed their German beer on draft and special menu. Next time - bring my growler to fill!
Service was slow. Atmosphere was drab & kind of loud. Appetizers were delicious. Entrees and spaetle had a weird flavor profile. Will not go again.
Went to celebrate Oktoberfest. We had a great time! Great service, great food and great entertainment! I love this place!
The service is always exceptional. The food is good and there is a good variety.
This is a fun place to go.
Finally venturing out to Alexandria, VA during the pandemic. Decided to try out the Village Brauhaus German restaurant in downtown Alexandria for lunch because we were missing Europe. We were scheduled to travel to Germany during the summer but for obvious reasons that trip has been postponed. So what better way to feel the essence...we booked a reservation and went. Although the outdoor seating is not ideal and a bit noisy, can’t blame the restaurant, we are not yet ready to eat indoors so the only outdoor seating is the front sidewalk on the main street. But we enjoyed the food and service very much. We shared the potato pancakes and the Brauhaus Wurst Platter which is a sampling of different sausages. We enjoyed every bite! My husband’s grandfather was from Hamburg, so it felt like home to him. You can’t come to a German restaurant and not partake in the beer...my husband enjoyed a dark roasted lager, Hacker-Pechora Dunkel ! I of course enjoyed a lovely Sauvignon Blanc.
Food was fantastic, staff was friendly but not hovering. Please support this business!
Love this place! The food and beer is wonderful and I feel like I’m in Bavaria.
Fantastic german food. Great music and atmosphere
We went for Oktoberfest and it was awesome. Staff was friendly and did a great job checking on us as we were sitting outside. Several German draft beer options and plenty of sausage options to choose from. Pretzel and food was all outstanding. They make their own sauerkraut too which was excellent. I was impressed. I expected more of a bar doing German things but this was authentic and I will certainly be back!
Excellent food and beer, great vibe, and terrific service
