Went here for Christmas Eve dinner. The service was highly attentive without being smothering. I felt this was the strongest point of the restaurant.
In total, we were 3 adults and 2 children. We started by sharing the Vilai Chips, Octopus and 3 of the dips (eggplant, garlic & tzaziki). These were all amazing. The entrees were less impressive - between the 5 of us, we shared 2 king prawns, salmon and shrimp risotto. The hallmark of Greek seafood is its simplicity but our entrees were quite bland.
All in all, this was a good experience - and good enough to warrant a return visit.
As usual, the food and service were spectacular. The beets and salmon tartar appetizers were fantastic. The Nigerian shrimp entree was extremely tasty and an amazing dish. This is one of the best restaurants around.
Fish was fresh and delicious. Service great. Chairs uncomfortable. Should give vegetables included with dinner for price point. Expensive.
Rainy night and we were the only group in the dinning room after 7 pm. Like being in a fish tank.
Rez was honored
Food very good
Our waiter was excellent (John), and the food and ambiance was outstanding. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend this Greek restaurant!
We had a lovely meal in a nice quiet environment. Definitely will go back
A beautiful restaurant in Glen Cove... not fancy but extremely well decorated. The owner is very hands on, very generous and always looking to make the restaurant good for all kinds of diners.. Food is delicious, some items are on the pricey side but many are not only affordable but excellent value. Four of us shared a delicious Romaine Salad with feta and a great dressing that was 13 bucks and we couldn't finish it all. All the salads are shareable and so are the appetizers.. All the portions are generous.
Food was delicious
But the waiter was curt and at times down right rude!!!
I would go back but make sure we had a more welcoming server
We dined (again) on 10/26/19. For appetizers we had the salmon tartare which was excellent, the Vilai chips which were excellent and the fried calamari which was excellent. We had the lamb chops and King Tiger prawns for entrees which were excellent. The service was excellent. The desert was also excellent. Just go!
Excellent across the board
During the week the food served Is a much larger portion. We always got Branzino and split it, still had some to take home. On the weekend we split it and the portion was so small and had a lot of bones, also very dry. Service is great along with the acoustics. The salmon tartare never has any taste, I keep on ordering it, but it doesn’t change.. so won’t again.
We had the 'prix fixe' dinner and all enjoyed their dinner. The Greek Salad was authentic with no lettuce and it had crispy Persian cucumber slices, the reddest tomatoes (in October) and a big chunk of real Feta cheese.
I particularly loved the Greek Yogurt with Honey for dessert; the yogurt was very tangy.
The owner stopped by to visit and was charming. We hope they remain in Glen Cove for a long long time.
We dined on Sat. 10/19/19. We had the lemon chicken soup and zucchini/eggplant chips as appetizers. Both were superb. For entrees we had the Baby Lamb Chops, filet mignon souvlaki and moussaka. All of the dishes were spectacular. The service was excellent as well. We'll be back again
Fabulous food and service. Costas and Petro are wonderful hosts and owners. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We had dinner on Saturday 10/5. Appetizers were the chips and octopus. Both were excellent. We all had the prawns for an entree which was also excellent. Service was excellent. A little slow on the food coming out but that was minor compared to the overall positives.
Fantastic food + service!
Consistent fabulous food and service! John our server was professional and congenial. Beautiful dining room. Our neighborhood gem!
Our second time dining at Vilai and we thoroughly enjoyed it....
Cannot say enough good things about this place! Every dish ordered was fantastic and the waiter was knowledgeable about food allergies and he checked and double-checked to make sure everything was right. They were able to make accommodations like grilled vs. fried calamari for gluten allergies. The price fix menu was perfect and had lots of yummy options. You will not be disappointed here! We will be back here soon!
This was our first experience in this welcoming restaurant with fresh, well prepared and delicious food and excellent service. A varied fish menu and simple, perfect sides. We will definitely return.
Food was delicious and plentiful!
Our waiter John was very attentive and personable. My only negative comment is the pink back lighting which is very distracting. The rest of the decoration is lovely.
Authentic Greek fare in a beautiful setting.
Great service , quiet atmosphere, lovely choices , pretty room
Vilai Divine Greek is a hidden gem on glen street. We had the Octopus and it delicious charred to perfection. The big hit was the huge Nigerian shrimp, highly recommended. The service was friendly and prompt.
Read about Vilai on Yelp and got great reviews. We were really in the mood for Greek food. Being Greek I miss a lot of my family’s cooking. The food was absolutely delicious. The grilled Octopus was heavenly. A little pricy from other places , but we enjoyed it. My husband snd I shared the whole red snapper again delicious. My dad had the lamb chops, was cooked to perfection. The home made fig ice cream made by the owner scrumptious. We enjoyed everything. We went a little crazy, but there is plenty of great food to try and not break the bank so speak. We will be back. And John our waiter was great!
Johnny was exceptionally helpful, service excellent, fees delicious. Loved the saganaki, salmon and the octopus!
Fabulous food, service and decor. John was an exceptional server. Will definitely come back
A secret spot for great food that won't be a secret for long!
We had dinner on Saturday 8/10. This was our first time at the restaurant. We were seated right away. We had the chips and beets as appetizers. We had lamb chops, the colossal shrimp from Nigeria and chicken as entrees. Besides the chicken being a “pinch” too dry, the food was all outstanding, well made and tasty. Service was a little slow at times. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended. Definitely try this restaurant.
The grilled fish at this place is outstanding. Other dishes too are excellent. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. The manager/owner knows what he is doing and the food quality is superior. The decor is tranquil. It is located a few minutes down Glen Cove Road & is a welcome addition to the area (& doesn’t have the “scene” - or sky high prices- of places like Kyma and Limani). Food is at least equal to and often far better than at those trendier hotspots.
We enjoyed our meal at Vilai. The octopus appetizer was the hit of the evening.
i have dined here before always a delicious meal and a great dining experience.
Great restaurant! The price fixed menu on Sundays is great. The whole branzini is delicious. The mousakas is warm and best we’ve ever had. Staff is delightful! A true gem!
Highly recommend this restaurant. Food and service were great. One of the best meals we’ve experienced on Long Island. We will definitely dine here in the future.
Great food & service.
We have been here before and the food is great.
Love the atmosphere and menu. Our server, John, made the evening more special...
We had the greek salad to start and all was so fresh...then we shared the mussels, which were excellent.
All the entrees were perfect and looking forward to going back!
A gem of a find - didn’t know this place existed as it is set back from the road with a few other stores. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals which included authentic comfort food of pastitsio and moussaka. The Greek sausage appetizer and Greek salad was delicious and fresh. Decor was lovely— contemporary, light, and airy.. Picky about Greek food being Greek and glad to find an authentic local place that is very good. Will definitely return.
Great food and service! A hidden culinary treasure in Glen Cove.
A wonderful Greek restaurant tucked away at the long end of a rectangular parking lot next to Razzano’s. Decent-sized drinks. Great fried calamari, branzino, shrimp with risotto and galatkabouriko. Wait staff is excellent as was the food. This unsung find has been open 11 months. The word needs to get out!.
