Inspired by a neighborhood favorite, Vicolina reintroduces the delicious food and warm ambience of a beloved Northern Italian gem.
A bit pricey but really great service and food. The outdoor seating was very nice.
Wonderful service and absolutely delicious food. Best Dover Sole I ever have had. Only issue is that sitting on Madison Avenue can be a little unnerving as cars speed by very closely. Strongly recommended for food and service. Hope that indoor dining will resume sometime soon.
Eating outside in the street due to the Pandemic is not always great, however Vicolina has created a delightful outdoor space that seems like a private garden. The service and food matched the delightful setting
Great service and food as always. Love their covid set-up. Nice touches.
Vico was always one of our favorites, and we’re delighted that it’s been reincarnated as Vicolina. It’s probably a bit overpriced (as was Vico) but the food and overall experience is great, so we just accept the price.
Really nice evening. Delicious shrimp dish and ravioli. Glad to have this restaurant in the neighborhood!
Really great fusilli bolognese and ravioli alla vodka. Friendly staff. Nice evening!
Great Branzino and veal Milanese! Nice atmosphere. Enjoyable experience with friends
great veal chop, superb caesar salad, asparagas perfect, great red wine , great crowd, packed on Sinday night, incredible service
BEST addition to Carnegie Hill and worth travelling to!
So delicious! If you were a fan of Vico, then you'll be thrilled to see that Vicolina has almost all of the same dishes on their menu. Service was good, food was great, but most of all, the atmosphere of a neighborhood classic is back!
Excellent food and service. Veal Milanese is the best. Acoustics much improved since its opening
Great food and service. Had the swordfish special. Very good.
Food was delayed but it was worth the wait. I will be back again.
We have been long-time devotees of Vico’s in this same spot so this was my first test of the “new” restaurant and it passed with flying colors. It is the same chef as Vico’s so was hoping for a familiar menu and was not disappointed. The true test for me, of course, was the clams vongole, which was superb. My companion (who was from out-of-town) was equally impressed. Welcome back to the ‘hood!
Great Experience! Expensive but that's normal for Carnegie Hill area
Food was OK. Tuna tartare ordinary but fine. Swordfish special was very good. Artichoke and mushrooms app fair. Chick w sausages good.
They ran out of decaf coffee. Waited a long time to get menus even tho rest was only 75% full. Then after 15 mins after our orders were put in they come back and said the special appetizer salad was out. So we ordered other stuff. Then they bring the 2 apps AND 2 entrees at same time!! Didn’t really know who our waiter was. Very disorganized but still new. Prices on high side for a casual neighborhood place.
Has potential. They need to get their act together, ditch the white tablecloths, lower prices a bit and be
more casual. Will try again because would love a good Italian neighborhood restaurant.
The food was good but there was a sense of being croweded with insufficient room between tables. not what you would exect in a restraurant that is trying to place itself in the upper level of restaurants. With the olvercrowded tables, it meant that the noise level was qite high.
Also the costs were very high. 'I have never had a relatively simple tr -i colori salad priced at $19.50. The salad was good but nothing extrordinary. The main course was also on the high side and had only a single side, and not much of that.
All in all, its a nice restaurant but overpriced even for UES.
We waited almost two year for the restaurant to open. it was worth the wait. Great food & Great Service.
mostly everyone who works there are industry veterans.
Home cooked meal. Very friendly staff. Home away from home.
The restaurant smelled like sewage
Glad to have a Vico like restaurant in the neighborhood Food and service very good Maitre de a little too stiff Tables jammed in with very little room in between Should be noted they don't have a liquor license so it was BYO . Hopefully it will get its footing and be less uptight.
We had been going to Vico for 25 years and were heartbroken when it closed. So happy to have it back with same chef. It was a little jarring for it to be more fancy, and we miss the regular staff - only one was there, though they’re hoping some of the others will be back eventually. But overall we’re delighted to have the restaurant reopen.
Poor service. Very clubby environment. If you don’t know someone, expect to be treated like a 3rd class citizen. Totally lacking Vick’s warmth and charm.
Loved it. Good service, great food!
Vico is back and better than ever. Vicolina has preserved what we all loved about Vico but now has more energy and bustle in a good way. I will definitely be coming back.
Food was as good as ever. Noise level was deafening. Service needs improvement. Not the same vibe as the old crew.
Excellent Food!! Excellent serivice! Outstanding in All
Perfect. Great food. Glad to have it back in the neighborhood.
Excellent food and service!
So great to have this neighborhood favorite back again. Many of the same great dishes including the meatballs and veal and fish with fresher ingredients and new interior. I plan to go back often
Delicious, wonderful ambiance and most importantly a very welcoming staff. Fantastic!
if you loved Vico, run to Vicolina - it's the same chef and nearly identical menu and includes all the Vico favorites. If you never went to Vico, run here as well - its a spectacular addition to the neighborhood.
The restaurant has great food and good service.
New spot with charm and aiming for attention to detail and quality cuisine.
Food was good, but not terrific, and not as good as Vico was. The obvious, glaring problem: too many tables stuffed into the space. Guys: don't be so greedy. People won't come back if they feel like they are on the 6 train.
They're reopened Vico's with substantially the same menu but higher prices. I was unimpressed with my ravioli, which I've always thought of as a dish that is tough to botch. Don't think I will be going back.
