The restaurant was cold and covered in leaves as they couldn’t close the doors so it wasn’t a comfortable environment. The food was average as was the service.
The food was wonderful! I have ordered takeaway from here before and I knew that the portions would be big so I ordered two small plates. My Mum got a small and a big but she couldn't finish it all, even though it was delicious. Neither of us are vegans. The restaurant was very quiet (this was dinner on a Friday night) and everything felt very relaxed. The music was nice but not too loud so we could have a proper catch up and the staff were very friendly but gave us lots of space. I will definitely go again!
The service was a bit too relaxed and the table was too small. But the food and drinks were tasty.
Perfect place for a pre theatre vegan supper. Friendly and welcoming.
Lovely atmosphere, great food. Worth going for the 5pm onwards deal.
Quick, efficient service with lovely food and people.
When we arrived we were told that two of the main items were missing off the menu. The dishwasher was broken and they asked us if we wanted plates. Said yes but they weren’t happy about it for some reason (probably because they would have to wash up by hand) and still served us with takeaway boxes! Real shame as we were there for a sit down meal.
There were flies buzzing around our heads the whole time and the music was really bad.
Food was cold and bland. Too much coriander so it tasted like soap.
All in all a bad experience and our server (whose name began with M) had a lot of attitude and didn’t ask us how it was and wasn’t bothered when we complained about the things above, just ignored us and walked off.
A long way to go for it to become a desirable place to have an evening meal.
Lovely staff and lovely food! What more could you ask for. Everything they make is fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced too. Can’t wait to come back :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at vertigo.
The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic and very friendly.
Would highly recommend 👍
Excellent food!, I would recommend visiting for some awesome vegan experiences.
Stunning food. Man cheese, hoi sin bun, falafel bowel were delicious
Very impressed by the food, very high quality vegan food
Excellent food and friendly service prompt we went pre theatre so needed to eat quite quickly. Loved the Falafels and turmeric latte .
Food and service was really good. Only negative was that the tables were very small so not good if you just wanted to try a few small dishes. Would definitely recommend a visit to the place.
Lovely food and friendly staff, cakes are so yummy. :-)
I would definitely recommend Vertigo! I had an evening meal there, dining in. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the food was really good.
Booked a table for 2 at 5pm. Really friendly staff but could be more attentive. There was only one other diner there but the service wasn't great. We had to constantly ask for everything - sometimes twice.
Felt the cauliflower starter was overpriced but as we went for the set menu, that evened out.
I wouldn't rush back but it was pleasant enough.
Came here for an early dinner and was not disappointed. Everything seemed to flow at such a lovely pace without anything coming across rushed. Cauliflower & Bao Buns were amazing starters, after we had the burger and chilli which again, was amazing! We were quite full at the end so we shared their signature biscoff cake to finish with and wow, what a finish to the meal! Staff were really attentive and welcoming!
What a lovely place! It's right in the centre of Manchester and a cool little hot spot of plant based goodness. We did the early evening dining offer which was a small plate, a large plate and a glass of wine for £17 per person which was so good. We had the bao buns, daal and cheeseburger which were all delicious. Definitely going to book again and maybe even come back for some of that cake and coffee tomorrow..
Very dirty place, had to ask for our drinks several times and there was only 1 other couple in there so it wasn’t busy. The small plates were nice but the microwave curry served to me was horrible and the rice was uncooked, I asked for 2 other things on the menu which they said they had ran out of before I had to ask for this curry which I never actually wanted. Staff leant on the counters on there phones whilst I had asked for my drinks on more than one occasion and still not received them. The vertigo restaurant in salford I had an amazing experience in and will definitely return the one in town was terrible and I couldn’t believe how dirty it was.
Food was fantastic, overall I would give it a 10/10. Customer service was very good, with staff being so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!
Visited on Friday 13th March. I ordered a hot chocolate with the mac and cheese to start and the Cheezeburger with sweet potato salad as my main. Such tasty food, by far the best burger I've ever eaten and fantastic, friendly staff too.
My girlfriend had the same main with the chicken satay starter and we both loved our first trip to Vertigo.
Will most definitely be returning very soon and will be telling everyone how good it was :)
Had a lovely dinner on Monday evening as a couple. The food, atmosphere and staff was amazing. Would highly recommend Vertigo and will definitely go back soon!
Food was delicious and well-priced (especially the peanut butter dhal! A flavour combination I'd never have thought of but am deffo glad these folks did!) Dessert was also incredible - a toffee-apple sponge bake - and staff neatly wrapped it for me, warmed and with a scoop of ice-cream to take away as I was on a tight schedule. Location is conveniently close to the Royal Exchange, so Vertigo makes an ideal pre-theatre dinner option. They even have a pre-theatre menu! The only drawbacks in my opinion were the loos (all the way downstairs secluded in the basement, which would make them hard to access for mobility-impaired individuals) and the small space, which meant tables were crammed very close together and there wasn't much room for multiple dishes on each table.
Really lovely meal, great service. Loved the cake!
Amazing staff amazing food will definitely be returning
Have already recommended Vertigo to friends - value and quality was excellent. Mushroom pie - to be vegan and gf and delicious was awesome
Went back for brunch the next day!
It was late but the place was full and that meant a bit of a wait. The food was fine, although the mushroom pie I had was a bit dry pastry wise. The hoummus and bread looked good and my starter of cauliflower wings was nice and hot. Shame padron peppers weren't on the menu that night though.
small but really interesting and good food (I am not a veggie.)
Staff are lovely and great value for money
Really lovely place with great service and friendly staff. I've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner many times and will be going many more. Great place to chat as it isn't too loud and the food is amazing!
Really tasty and nutritious food. Well priced. Would highly recommend for brunch or a casual dinner.
Delicious vegan food, lovely atmosphere and great friendly staff
The vibe is a bit odd, very bare walls and a bit hollow. The food was nice, however both our dishes were incredibly spicy, we both like hot food but this was a bit over the top.
Small but delicious dining spot! I had the pre theater dinner which came in at a great price of €15.
Very friendly service and the food was delicious! It was the first time my parents ate vegan and they really loved it!
We arrived at 7.15pm but we were charged for the theatre-menu, we didn’t ask for that or even mentioned it, so that’s very very kind!
Allthough we were told that de small dishes were like starters, it was a lot. Therefore we couldn’t finish the main dish. But we could bring it home so we had a wonderfull breakfast.
It is that I live in Holland, otherwise I would come here every week!
The food was ok. The dal was a bit bland lacking depth of flavour and needed plenty of salt as it wasn’t seasoned enough for me. Same for the rice.
We went there last Tuesday, I went worh 3 more friends and we really enjoyed, best oreo cake ever ever. Thank you to the staff for the warm and welcoming service. 10/10 gfree options top!
Lovely decor and great food to accompany it. Strikes the right chord between healthy and tasty vegan food!
The food was very good, especially the chilli con carne and the Oreo Cake, would definitely return and recommend to friends. The only negative is that the tables are small and closely packed together, but the space in the eating area is at a premium.
I found this restaurant on the app happy cow. I thought the ambiance of the place was amazing and it had really nice decor. The food was really good! We ordered mac and cheese, cheeseburger, jackfruit chilli and the seitan skewer which all tasted great. The staff were really lovely, I would definitely go there again.
