Vasse Felix Winery & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Cannot fault the lunch we had the other day at Vasse Felix. One standout other than the food was the young lady that served us. She was so professional and friendly and I really appreciate the attention she took into separating my food for my allergies. She had great knowledge of all the produce and the wines. Everything on Monday was 10/10.
Thankyou and we have been recommending Vasse to everyone that has asked.
without doubt our favourite place to eat in the area. fantastic food that looks every bit as good as it tastes and service that is friendly, very professional and attentive but relaxed enough that you feel very comfortable and relaxed. keep up the good work!
Our lunch at Vasse Felix paired delicious food with fabulous service. It had been awhile since we went out for a 'fancy' lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed each dish; in fact, everything on the menu looked like a winner so it was hard to choose! The service was great - everyone was warm and friendly, happy to answer any questions we had, and in no way 'snooty' (which can sometimes happen at a fancy restaurant). I would absolutely recommend it to anyone after a gorgeous meal.
The restaurant is situated within the vineyard and manicured lawns. We chose the degustation menu as a means of tasting a number of their wines to matched foods, an excellent decision. The food was exceptional and the wines very enjoyable. We upgraded to a glass of the Tom Culliton Cabernet Sauvignon, at a very reasonable price. The wait staff were knowledge and engaged, so the afternoon was a memorable experience.
Great views over the vineyard, had some wines downstairs with some delicious charcuterie then headed upstairs for a great lunch with amazing food and the great vasse felix wine to pair with each course. Top notch service and amazing staff meant a great day for us both.
We last visited Margaret River 20 years ago. Our lunch at Vasse Félix back then was outstanding, as it was this time. The food was wonderful. We shared the barramundi accompanied by the Chardonnay, then shared the beef accompanied by a glass of the Cabernet. Fabulous desserts to finish. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent, in a lovely setting. Best meal we had in a week visiting Margaret River.
Such a special experience. An uncommon balance of high-level service with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. It's clearly about the food and wine here and not about the pretence. All of the staff were more than well educated on the menu. They were passionate. Heads up - if you choose the matching wine with the tasting menu, allow some time afterward, to lie in the sun on the lawn below (or get picked up). Their wine servings are very generous :)
Superb cooking in a fabulous setting and excellent value - particularly if you have the Tasting Menu and its accompanying wines , which were both first rate and served in generous quantities. The service was exemplary and the entire experience was brilliant. Highly recommended !!
Lunch at Vasse Felix once again met all of our expectations. The wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable and having our 10 month old with us was no trouble at all for them. The food was amazing, we had the tasting 5 course set menu, this allowed us to try dishes we normally wouldn't try. Each dish was described by the waitstaff and was a work of art on the dish. There were elements that we had never thought of before.
We ordered the paired wine as part of the meal. Once again the wait staff told us about each wine and why it was pair with that particular dish.
Whenever we visit the south west we always have lunch at Vasse Felix and the four and service is always fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful Valentines lunch we really appreciated it.
Dined here with friends on Sunday 12th February. Beautiful location. Service was wonderful as was the food. However the menu is quite limited and very vague with its descriptions. I would like to see a couple more dishes on the menu for each course. This is not a place to take children.
This was an outstanding experience - the welcome and wine-tasting before lunch was friendly, informed and interesting. The historical information in the downstairs cellar is fascinating and we learnt a great deal about Tom Cullity, the founder, the reason for the name, and the extraordinary journey that VF has made over the past few decades. The tasting lunch was one of the better meals we have eaten anywhere; beautifully presented, brilliant fusion of flavours and ingredients and outstanding wine matches.
"Just keeps getting better and Better."
We have been celebrating our anniversary at Vasse Felix on New years day for the last seven years.
The menu and creativity has just got better and better. Such lovely combinations of flavors, well presented and delicious to eat. The accompanying wines for the five course taste degustation are very complimentary. The Cane cut Semillon a superb finish to any meal . If we gave out Michelin stars here in WA they would get one for their current offer for the meal we enjoyed
Having been to some Margaret River winery lunches during our most recent stay, we looked forward to Vasse Felix. We have heard good things about it and it certainly did not disappoint. The nice long beautiful approach to the cellar door/restaurant, with the excellent service and ambience added to the food and excellent wines. No request was too difficult for the service staff and the entire family (including an elderly granny and 2 kids about 10 years old) enjoyed it tremendously, such that 2.5 hours passed without us realising it.
This place will be a fixture for us, and will be penciled down for future trips.
Unnecessarily complicated ruining basic flavours and resulting in slow service on a quiet day. We eat in Michelin starred restaurants all over the world. We felt that this restaurant was trying too hard to become a Mitchelin quality restaurant forgetting that at the end of the day customers come to eat not to admire the artwork!
Did the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairing and did not regret it one bit. Great food and service with the staff explaining each and every dish and the tasting notes of the wine. We do not take beef and the kitchen changed that up with an awesome fish dish. The winery has a very beautiful Chardonnay that was so creamy and buttery that even a non Chardonnay fan like me brought a bottle home.
