This was our first time at Vaso's. It is a beautiful restaurant. Everyone was social distanced and staff were very nice. Our first issue was with the appetizers. My husband and I each ordered one and they brought them out at completely different times. I had soup and received it first. I was long done with my soup before they brought out my husband's appetizer. Still don't know why they didn't bring them out together. Second issue was my Veal Saltimbacca. The Prosciutto was over-cooked. The veal itself was tender and very good. Overall, the food was good and we will probably return.

Everything was wonderful except for the people waiting to eat kept propping open the doors letting cold air in. Next time I will ask for a table in the back of the restaurant.

On of the best restaurants in Old Town Alexandria, Va. and my wife and I have been to many of them. This was our first time venturing away from the waterfront and Vaso's Mediterranean restaurant was very much worth the entertaining and historical walk./

Good food, great atmosphere (UPSTAIRS!!) and good service

It's okay but nothing special. We chose it because of proximity to our hotel and the menu, but arrived to see an abbreviated menu, limited seating and a noisy narrow eatery. Food portions were okay but you can get more food for the same price elsewhere on King St. Service was fine but we'll try somewhere else next time.

Loved the chicken piccata. Nice wine options. Very good service.

Sort of underwhelmed for what we paid. Nothing was objectively bad per se, but the pasta we received we thought would be part of the dish, not a premade side in a side bowl with questionable meat sauce. And it definitely wasn't handmade pasta.

A return visit-- the Vaso's Shrimp was excellent! A nice dinner on a cold winter evening. Thank you!

A return visit, to a favorite Old Town Alexandria restaurant. We've been going for a time now, but this visit we tried some new things instead of old favorites and may have found some new favorites-- the Chicken Sorrentino was very nicely prepared, and Vaso's Shrimp, delicious! A nice evening!

First time at Vaso’s and will be be back. Highly recommend.

I had planned a dinner event for 20 and we had an amazing time. The Restaurant is quaint, and the services was wonderful. They gave us the 2nd floor upper level and felt we had the restaurant to ourselves.

Very small restaurant that makes the traffic flow busy and noise level fairly high, especially with the music playing.
Very cold in the front room (most of the tables) because the front door closes very slowly.
Will come back on a warmer day in the afternoon.

The food took awhile to come out and when it did it was cold. The butter garlic sauce was fine but the Marinara was bland.

The food was pretty blend. The lamb chop was over cooked even though we ask for medium well. It took almost an hour for us to receive the main course.

The restaurant itself is cute, and they had music playing that was pleasant and at a good volume. I decided to take my husband out for his birthday and found Vaso’s had great reviews, so settled on going there Friday evening for dinner. The service was EXTREMELY slow. The server and others seemed flustered even though capacity is obviously lower. Our appetizer and plates were not cleared before our main course arrived. The appetizer shared platter was good, but the main course was awful! I love Mediterranean food, this was not it. It was BLAND, no flavor at all. Also, they serve Spaghetti with meat sauce as a side to the chicken dishes. Spaghetti and meat sauce doesn’t go well with Chicken Piccata. It does not say this anywhere on the menu so welcome to the surprise. For the price, I am extremely surprised they have good reviews, will never return. I hate Olive Garden and I rather go there.

Checking in for our reservation was very confusing and had to stand in a very small doorway with staff trying to go back and forth with food and dishes. We were seated promptly however. Fortunately we previewed the menu prior to our visit and decided on what we were going to order; which turned out to be good as we could not hear what our waitress said were the specials. The place was pretty packed; although we did not mind, the health department did as they paid a visit. I hdd the veal saltimbocca, which I hadn’t had for years, and it did not disappoint. My wife had the chicken terra mora, and it was very good. We did not see our waitress after ordering until it was time to order dessert; which we did. The baklava was alright and the double espresso’s were just ok. Typically espresso comes with a cube of sweetener, our only came with a small spoon. The check was hurriedly brought to us and picked up instantaneously, feeling very rushed we paid and left. There seemed to be some sort of arguing, among the staff, while we were there. A few people bellied up to the bar, located in the middle of the restaurant, and were very loud and used bad language quite a-lot. Only recommendation, move the bar to the back of the restaurant. Other than the bar and lack of service it was an alright experience. Will look for other restaurants during future stays in Alexandria. One last note, offer black napkins as white napkins leave very noticeable lint on darker clothing...this should be obvious!

Vaso does a great job in providing comfortable outdoor seating. Food was outstanding - wonderful veal! Our service was friendly and great,especially considering they had many customers. Will definitely return and recommend for a great dinner.

We had dinner outside at Vaso's - best meal in Old Town Alexandria! From the stuffed mushrooms and triple dip to the shrimp and fish meals the food was fantastic. Good portions, beautifully seasoned, fresh ingredients. Combined with good wine, couldn't be better.

We had the pasta carbonara and lamb. Both were amazing but the pasta was especially great!!
Will definitely come back for both dishes.

This is a great restaurant with great staff and great food. We have been here many times and keep coming back. The food is always tasty and the seasonings and flavors are excellent. The saganaki is awesome and flambé table side. It is a must have!

Picked Vaso’s based on ratings and menu. Great choice. Spot on cocktails. Great service. Excellent food. We’ll go again next time in Old Town.

Vaso's has been a very consistent dinner venue for my wife and I. The food is always fresh and prepared with uncommon detail.
