Seafood Karu Muru

Had a great meal here. Service and food was excellent, and COVID measures in place without feeling overwhelming. A lovely evening in strange times!
Fabulous service. Very friendly and informative staff. Beautiful food. I had the fish curry which was incredible. Highly recommend !!!
Wonderful dishes and amazing tastes. Under Covid restrictions i felt very safe. Will be back.
Relaxed atmosphere, excellent dining would definitely recommend.
Was a return visit for us and was just as good as we remembered. Service was friendly and efficient, the staff took time to assist with menu selection. Food was lovely, good portion size and as described on menu. Overall a great experience, the food here is authentically Indian, spiced without being overly hot.
South Indian cuisine which was far more interesting than the more generic north Indian / Bangladeshi cuisine. Good service and reasonable price.
We had a lovely meal at this restaurant, 900pm on a Saturday night. Food is great and it wasn't too busy. The room feels nice and staff were friendly and efficient. £65 for a la carte starters, mains and rice seems like pretty good value for this level of cooking. We hope to go back soon.
This was a special dinner and the staff made it so much more special. The food, the ambience and the staff are just too perfect. The closest i could ever come to having authentic Indian food and enjoy it was Ury. Thanks to the team for a wonderful experience.
Great food and service just can tell they need couple more hands to help because they’re very busy. Would definitely recommend
Food very tasty and staff kind and helpful. We appreciated the starter recommendation by our waitress.
The food here is absolutely incredible, and the service was fantastic as always.
Classic old school restaurant..serving excellent grub..
Great meal with our Nephew and GF in Newcastle this week. Thoroughly recommend the food and the experience
Unfortunately we did not see this restaurant at it's best. It was the day of a rugby final so it was packed. Knowing how busy the place would be we reserved a table and got seated on time. after a short wait we ordered and drinks and nibbles arrived quite quickly. Starters then came - luke warm, and not particularly special. We then waited, and waited, and waited. An hour and three quarters after we arrived there was still no sign of a main course or any service - we had tried to catch the eyes of the people working there several times. In the end we decided to leave. We reached the counter and asked to pay what we had received. This came to £40 - for three drinks, nibbles and starters - which we paid. In all fairness the manager was very apologetic. The waitress was very friendly as well. I could not fault either of these two. But clearly they must have been understaffed - and this resulted in delays. We weren't the only group to complain about the time. So, in short, I can't really comment on how good this restaurant is usually. It has very good reviews - which is why I made the reservation. But I would avoid on match days.
The meal took 2hours.. enough said.
Although the food was very good, it took far to long.
We had a wonderful meal at Ury. The flavours were amazing and the service excellent: friendly and efficient despite being under tremendous pressure due to the vast numbers of diners (as a result of the European
Rugby finals being staged in the city on this weekend). We will definitely return the next time we are in Newcastle.
We had to wait 2 hours for our main course. We asked multiple times and kept being told it would be 5 more minutes.
5 of us went early evening prior to a concert at the Sage. We all had the set banquet and it was really good value and delicious. Service was relaxed but attentive and very informative when describing all the dishes. All dishes were very tasty, especially the chowder and the fish curry. Delicious Keralan food offering an alternative curry experience.
I have been to airy about 7 or 8 times now and never been disappointed. It’s my first choice to takes visiting friends and everyone has always enjoyed the experience!
Beautiful food, great service. Different from other Indian restaurants in Newcastle. Can be on spicy side but really nice. Can be a little expensive - lots of little additions are charged without realising. Well worth it though!
Never disappoints. Another very good meal. Very good service as well
This was our second time dining here and, as previously, the food and service were excellent. There is a very good menu choice and plenty of more unusual dishes that you don’t get in other restaurants. The breads and pre-dinner snacks are highly recommended!
The food was really good with lots of interesting flavours. the staff were able to advise our group on thier choices and were very attentive.
Very good meal, extremely nice food with good service. Only downfall was the price. I thought it was slightly expensive for what you got.
Would go back though!
Good food, a welcome change to the usual curry house fare. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. However I marked it done as the restaurant was a bit bright and austere for our tastes. Not really a place for an intimate meal, but a place to go for good food.
Great food and service, never disappoints!
This is a lovely restaurant with a calm atmosphere. The menu is varied and has a number of different choices which made deciding on my meal quite difficult. It was explained that much of the menu is from the Kerala area of India. There are still some of the old favourites of course but it is more interesting to try some of the more unfamiliar things. Staff are attentive without being overbearing or, conversely, indifferent. A sensible amount of time is given between courses and I did not feel rushed. That is not always my experience of a Saturday night meal. The food was delicious, the portions more than adequate. There is plenty of room between tables and all in all it was a very pleasant evening. Good value too. We had 4 courses and a drink and the bill totalled around £66. I have already told family and friends to give Ury a try.
Worst Indians/ service Iv received at a restaurant. As there was a large group in the restaurant, everyone else had to suffer. 45 minutes before we got asked for drinks. Another hour and a half before the food came and on top of that the food was so bad we sent it back.
People have the right to at least have a service that warrants £30 per head and editable food to go with it. Poor, putting money over quality is disgusting
This place never disappoints if you want something a little different.
Huge dosa was pleasantly spiced and a great companion to the lamb and chicken.
Staff wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable.
Definitely worth a visit.
Great cuisine choice, particularly seafood dishes - the Fish Curry was a delight
We went here as an alternative to the more traditional Indians in the town (northern Indian / Bangladesh) and were not disappointed. The only thing on the menu I recognised was pilau rice. After having spoken to the waiter and explained my predicament my mind was put to rest and I ordered what he recommended based upon my "normal " Indian dishes. Highly recommend a visit and caters for gluten free diets.
The food was great. Staff very attentive. The popadoms were full of flavour. The booking service through opentable needs work as had changed my reservation. This took two phone calls because your website kept confirming the original reservation. Would have been easier to phone.
Four of us had a the Kerala Banquet. Splendid.
An adventure in Southern Indian cuisine, not the usual choice of balties, and vindaloos but authentic regional food from Kerala. If you are tired of the same old thing and want to try something much better this is the place for you. The staff are excellent, attentive without being obtrusive and happy to talk about their menu so you can make the right choices.
Different to a normal curry, was recommended by an Indian friend saying it was just like Mam made it at home. We really enjoyed it - I’ve never had anything like in the UK. Definitely worth trying
7 of us dined here on a Friday evening. The food was lovely, great choice of dishes, and not just your standard "indian" offerings. Good information about ingredients and attentive staff.
Lovely indian food with a great selection of new dishes we hadn't tried before. Friendly helpful waiters
Amazing food, tonnes of gluten free options not found anywhere else, including appam (a type of bread) to die for! Always attentive, speedy service and an all-round great atmosphere. Favourite restaurant in Newcastle.
I've always like Try - they are very good when we take guests with slightly difficult food constraints/allergies . The staff are always attentive and helpful but never "in your face".
I chose Ury for a special dinner for a friend who loves South Indian food. We were absolutely not disappointed! Highly recommended if you like Indian food and would like to try something a bit different from the usual North Indian offering.
Absolutely beautiful food, my grandma mentioned there were vegans at the table in passing and the waiter made sure that we didn't eat anything that we shouldn't! All the staff were so lovely, it was the perfect place to go for my graduation dinner, and I will definitely be returning!
