Urban Ground Mordialloc

We went for a birthday celebration on a Wednesday night. The food was good, the drinks were good. We were having a lovely time and had just received our dinner and then one if the staff said we are closing an hour early and we have to all leave soon. They cut the party short and it was very disappointing.

The concept of Urban Underground is excellent because it’s family-friendly. Selection of beers is fantastic. Quality of food was quite poor, and for the price being charged, was disappointing. Only two businesses to choose from at the time. DOC wasn’t open when we ate at lunch - they might have been the better choice. Flavour is needed! Would be good to provide more food options with a variety of prices. Would recommend as a place to have drinks and catch up with families.

Perfect venue to meet with friends or a casual special occasion. Beer was awesome and looking forward to the Gin Distillery opening and trying their Gin as well. Food Vans offered a great variety as well as the Poke Bowls from the venue. We had live music which set a perfect ambience and energy to the venue. Will definitely be back to listen to more live music and bring more people as well.

Mordialloc has come a long way. Urban Ground feels like Fitzroy but you're so close to the sandy beaches of Mordi. Great vibe. Love the meals onsite, and also the food trucks add to the fun and relaxed vibe.

Great place for an easy, relaxed feed and some beers. Plenty of tables outside and generally undercover but take a hat and sunscreen if it's sunny

Great idea for a venue. Different food every week and with 3 or more food trucks on the go, there is a lot more choice than going to a regular bar.

We were blessed with great weather to enjoy the outdoor sheltered area. Went early at 4pm to beat the family dinner rush at 6pm and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great local spot with friendly service.

Was good but a couple more food options would be good

DOC pizza is outstanding! We had booked our table but hadn’t had enough time to relax, we found the time allowed to be there too short, not a good impression to be kicked off. We went to the beer garden and found an informal spot to finish our dinner, though

The vibe was perfect for a relaxed Sunday with some tunes, gins and an incredible lunch from Pressed Sandwich Co.! Loved it, will definitely be back.

We tried food from all the vendors that were there on the day and the food was delicious from everywhere. Highly recommended and we'll be back!

We had a great time.. although two hours just wasn’t long enough.. 3 hour booking would have been great..

Need a shade curtain up the western end.
Have tables numbered so you can choose a specific table when booking

Great casual dining in an Industrial part of Mordialloc. Good food from food trucks, local beer and spirits and a great atmosphere. This is a fun spot for Friday night and the weekends and even better it’s in walking distance to home. Worth a visit.

So fun! We celebrated my husband's birthday and had the kids come too. They had a ball, we drank beer, we ate cool and yum food from food trucks, we played table tennis and we chatted to the people at neighbouring tables. Such a festival vibe, casual, happy, energetic and great play space for the kids. We will be back!

Great for people of all ages. Our kids had a ball in the kids play area. Lucky I requested our table close by so we could keep an eye on them :)

There was nothing bad about the place but also nothing I would rave about. The food was OK but the choice was quite limited. It took quite a while to get service inside and I think it would help everyone if Urban Ground had buzzers to let you know when your meals are ready as it is quite a large venue. I like the concept but I think it needs refining.

Really nice place to hang out with young family & friends. Food is really good but on the exy side for a family if you’re after a hearty feed. Staff are generally really chipper.
We waited over an hour for our fish & chips this time after first being told it would take 25 mins. Kids were cranky as by the time food arrived. Love this place but another similar experience would put me off ever going back. Hoping this feedback can help management overcome the same happening again as we’d love to continue coming here :)

The fact that I booked a table at a venue that advertised 4 food trucks for food.... and you arrive and there is 1 actually there and has no food left it’s really disappointing

Not enough choice of food and trucks that were meant to be there were not, champagne a bit pricey

We were referred by friends that stated they had the best pizza's. I looked them up online and they looked great but when we got there they had no pizza (and no notification mentioning that online) The noise level was insane amongst the screaming children. We were told to find the waitress ourselves to show us to our table. We could not find the waitress and ended up finding our table ourselves. We did not see any waiting staff the whole time we were there.

Great service as always. My goto for trying NEW Brews! 🍺

This time OpenTable didn't let us down. But we went to Urban Ground the day before to confirm our booking has been placed. It was. And also our request regarding our wish where to sit, has been looked after by Urban Ground :)
Service was excellent, food trucks unfortunately only two to choose from (no D.O.C. pizzas our little ones where looking forward to - so, just chips for the kids). We managed.
We had a good time. The restaurant was not so full - we sat outside under cover - because of weather condition. Cool and showers. So it was quite pleasant. The mini kids playground was a plus. Without kids and rain, we prefer the other outside area :)
It still will be one of our favourites!
