We have enjoyed the excellent food and ambience when we visited on two previous occasions during the evenings. This visit was on a Sunday lunchtime. There were six of us and we all chose different items from the menu. We all agreed the food was salty, advised at the time, and service was not up to its usual standards given it was not that busy.

Late booking - buzzing atmosphere, food excellent, service good friendly. Thought £166 for two adults and two from the children’s was high. Wine is expensive

The menu seems perfectly tailored for warm summer evenings, portion sizes are just right leaving one full but not bloated.
We dined off the set menu and found the burrata delightful, served on charred lettuce its creaminess marries beautifully with charred, smoky flavours. We followed that with a splendid sea bream. Everything was seasoned to perfection, they might as well get rid of salt and pepper mills as we had no need for them.
We finally shared a most indulgent tiramisu.
Tip: Although we booked for the pre theatre menu, I asked to see the summer set menu which was on offer at the time of visit. Awkwardly, it turned out starters and mains are the same on both menus, the only difference is for pre theatre its £19 per person for 2 courses while the summer set offers the same two courses at £15 per head. The only difference between the two is dessert options! It seems really bizarre, and perhaps the pricing of the theatre set menu should be reconsidered while the summer offer is on. Since both menus are available simultaneously I'm not sure how the £4 per head difference is justified.

Octopus was not good with beans. It seems summer temperatures 25degC affect quality.
It was too hot in there.

I like Gordon Ramsay as a chef. I like his creativity, the fresh approaches he takes with what might seemingly be thread-bare grounds and tried and trues. Union Street Cafe has an underwhelming name, but it is a definite place to be. I went for Sunday “brunch” _- bottomless Proseco for 20 pounds was the offer I took - snd I must say, I world do it again and again. The rocket salad w Parmesan and balsamic was basic but great, then I had an egg dish w spinach that was a new wrinkle on a likely ancient theme. Lastly I had crusted Parmesan w honey and pepper - light and tasty....net/net perfect,
Note: the menu is hard to read/interpret, so USC, you should address that. And you charged me full price at first for my Proseco - buzz kill - but all in, well done.

Great arancini and good pasta. Bland pollock. grudgingly given tepid tap water. Blast Bellini but good rose champagne. Not particularly attentive service. Noticed too late that was overcharged but given the lacklustre service it seemed like too much effort to explain. One of those places that doesn’t try hard because of name on door and service being automatically added to bill.

The food was alright, but there do not appear to be enough waiters, and we had to flag ours down multiple times to ask for things. The space is noisy, and the table next to us was placed so close that the back of the adjacent diner's chair was actually touching our table. A bit silly, since the overall space isn't particularly small.

Just not a great experience. The food is overpriced and very average for a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. My veggie pasta was around £20 for over cooked spaghetti and raw peas.
We wanted dessert but weren’t served for 40 mins at which point other waiters were clearing up the tables and bar, and when our waiter finally came over, he seemed surprised had decided enough was enough and that we weren’t ordering anything else.
The room is also pretty soulless. I wouldn’t recommend...

I consider myself a regular guest to USC.
When flying in from Denmark 3-4-5 times a year, I ALWAYS book a table. I wouldn’t miss a meal for the world, and I’ve built so many good memories over the past few years, always giving my absolute recommendation to friends that goes to London.

Authentic Italian cuisine, mainly Italian staff, and mainly Italian coziness and ambiance. Love it... 10 stars from me if it were possible.

I have been here a few times and had good experiences, but last night was very disappointing. Food was very, very salty which we complained about but although we were offered a different main course, we had almost finished by this stage and no adjustments were offered to the bill. Service wasn't great, we had to ask for drinks twice and they took an age to arrive. Overall it was a real shame as it is normally a lovely restaurant.

We had the early evening dinner which was very good and good value. However we were given 2 different menus, we pointed it out and was after a wait given the same menu. A couple of minutes later we were given a third menu which looked the same as the second. When the bill arrived they had put the wine but not the food. We were honest and joked a limoncello would be great for our honesty. Unfortunately honesty didn't get one. A small gesture missed.

The startes were tasty and well prepared. The mains were very disappointing and salty (special pasta and monkfish). We asked to replace the mains. We had gnocchi with mussels.. this time the dish was overcooked. Arriving to the dessert.. the idea of adding walnuts to a tiramisu is an interesting idea that unfortunately completely ruined the taste of the dessert.
The wine: a 125 ml glass of a mediocre average tasting wine was just £19... we just find this a bit of an exageration

The brunch selection was attractive, the food was good with different flavors and textures; we liked the clear Italian-Liguria background.
Service was slow at the beginning but picked up and throughout the meal itself Tamas our server was very efficient, professional and friendly.
I suggest you insert more Brunch items in the menu, such as Eggs Benedict, Bacon, Avocado.

Excellent food with service to match.
Bit of a treat as children away so was not cheap (by our standards), but had two delicious meals from the a la carte - set menu was not as inspiring.
Very quiet when we first arrived, although the noise level did rise as more Saturday lunch diners came in.

Sommelier didn’t empty bottle into decanter claiming sediment. It was a 2012 Brunello and we checked- no sediment. Then waiter removed bottle before we finished. He also placed cork from another bottle on our table. Not our cork. Very unprofessional.

Cod mousse appetizer- very fishy and inedible.
Charcuterie was very nice.

Son ordered spaghetti w/ mussels. There were no mussels. He originally asked for pappadelle w/lamb but they substituted duck for lamb.
Wife ordered lamb dish— was not asked temperature. Came out very rare.
Other son ordered arrosto - basically a dish that was cream sauce with a side of beef.
Only I had a good meal- meluzzo.

Decor/layout very pleasing.

Food/service Very disappointing.
Can’t imagine G. Ramsay would be happy.
