Went for brunch. Bloody Mary was so good especially with a shrimp and a piece of pork belly among other things. Biscuits and gravy and the cinnamon brioche French toast.. both were excellent. Our server was very friendly and super efficient. Will definitely go back for lunch or dinner.
Not sure what happened, place didn’t seem busy, but waited over an hour for the food, which was just ok by the time we got it. Pancakes were tough, waffles were good, mixed bag. Wait staff were super nice, but were missing for long periods. I think if the wait time was lower, I’d rate higher, but given how long we waited, and the food being only ok, it wasn’t a great experience.
Ate outside and was perfect. Great food and service. Music was at perfect level creating a great vibe while still allowing easy conversation.
Second time there and a repeat customer exactly b/c of the reasons a restaurant becomes a favorite; good people, good food and the atmosphere. Just great a great all around establishment.
Great patio, great service, great food. Family-friendly.
The patio was very nice. It was a beautiful evening and the street didn’t have much traffic at all. The food was good.
We had a wonderful experience and certainly will be back. The service was excellent.
Awesome food! Lots of GF options and they take allergies very seriously. Definitely a local gem!
First time here, will definitely come back. Our waitress, Colleen, was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Loved the ambiance, large space, tables spaced well. The ceilings are high so it was noisy. Food was very good, two of us had smash burgers with salad, one of our party had of mac and cheese with bacon, and one had an order of chicken and waffles, all very good, portions were excellent. House made chips to start were also good. A few more items on the menu I would like to try so we will definitely be back.
As usual we had a great dining experience. Jonathan our waitstaff was excellent, very knowledgeable and attentive. will be looking for him our next time at union straw.
What a great experience at Union Straw! Our server Casey was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations! I had the chicken and waffles, a really tasty spicy break-your-diet kind of treat! The beer selection was very good, as were the wine choices. The outdoor patio is really very nice and felt like private dining. Overall a great night out! We will definitely be back!
Food quality was exceptionally poor. We were told that the shrimp was grilled; more likely they were precooked, frozen shrimp thawed under running water. I would not recommend this restaurant.
We enjoy the restaurant and have done a great deal of take out. Our favorites are the Duck Grilled Cheese and the Pear and Goat cheese salad. We split both.
Food, drinks and service were exceptional. Highly recommend
The food here is absolutely phenomenal & we can’t wait to go back & try more of the menu!
Had a great meal there last night. Not sure about noise level since it was pretty quiet but love the atmosphere and menu
Thirty minute wait with reservation. Many empty tables, but clearly understaffed. We felt bad for them, but dismayed that hostess communicated with others, but not us. She gave away bar seating to walk ins without offering to those with reservations.
Server clearly exhausted and did her best to be nice and move things along. She (Ellie) is definitely an asset to the restaurant.
Water tasted like it was from a toilet. Po boys and fries were delicious. Farmers Mkt flatbread had no flavor and peppers were from a jar. Disappointing.
We’ll wait for them to get the kinks out and will try again.
Food was good. Service could have been better. Would have gotten another drink if stopped by to ask. Overall good place and will go back.
We loved Union Straw. All the food was delicious. The patio was very inviting, food came out quickly and everyone was very friendly. My kids barely made a peep because they were enjoying themselves so much. The homemade chips were a big hit and the s’mores dip was delectable! We’ll be back for sure!
Our server was awesome, food was great. Quick service.
Union Straw never disappoints!
Have had the Flatbreads, seasonal entrees, BBQ and many apps, all were delish! The added bonus is there is always a good beer on tap!
It was our first time dining at Union Straw and we will definitely go back. It proved to be a good date night restaurant, but next time, we'll bring the whole family -- there is lots for our picky eaters to like. The cocktails were inventive, the food fresh and delicious. As a vegetarian, there were a number of good choices -- I wasn't relegated to just one appetizer and one main dish. The dining room was nice and there was a good energy.
Hard to find entrance to this place. Once we got inside it was really big. Fun atmosphere. Our waitress was really good and accommodating. There were a lot of food choices and prices were good. Got together with family from Ri so it was a good 1/2 way place for all of us and we will go back!
Nice atmosphere but average food.
Loved sitting at the bar for brunch!
We were very hungry after attending a RedSox game. Felt a little underdressed because normally I would dress a little nice for this place but having run late coming from the game had to attend in jeans and t shirts but nobody seemed to care. It is a casual nice environment. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. She was very attentive, answered our questions and provided friendly service. The food was excellent. We had chicken tenders that were delicious and ribs and rib eye for meals. My husband loved the ribs and the rib eye came with roasted potatoes and duck. Boy was it scrumptious but sooo much food so needed to take some home. My rum punch was fruity and delicious. It came with a cute little flower. 🌸My husband was happy with the selection of beers. Watched the Bruins on the tv’s behind the bar and we had a great evening.
Brought a couple friends over for the first time. They loved it!
The food was awesome! Chicken & Waffles was a hit!
Food and service were great. Kid Friendly. Great Maple Bourbon Old-Fashioned
Another great night at Union Straw with good food, drinks and service!
Food and drinks were superb. A bit bright but overall nice ambiance.
Quite excellent food, very different. Duck grilled cheese on cranberry bread. Definitely will be back. Waiter Johnathan was very personable and knowledgeable. Only minor setback was the food time out of the kitchen. But more then likely, as in most restaurants there are help shortages.
It was a beautiful evening, so we just sat back and enjoyed.
We sat outside for our anniversary dinner. The food was great. (I had the Pear, Bacon, and Goat Cheese Salad with grilled chicken, and my husband had the Buffalo Chicken Mac 'n' cheese. We split the Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich. It was delicious!) I definitely recommend the place!
Food needs to be better.
Great place. A regular my wife and I. Awesome food, drinks and ambience.
Great first experience! Food was well made, drinks were good and service was too. Indoors seemed extremely loud — luckily we chose outdoor seating!
Outdoor dining is inviting. It was a warm day but the umbrella at the table as well as the trees provided enough shade so that you were not sitting directly in the sun. Offerings for Sunday brunch were plentiful and they seemed to run out of the specials early considering we were there at 11:4AM.
I really love having Union Straw in Foxboro. Pros: food and ambiance is always good. A few things that I’ve noticed when I go...drinks are very slow to come from the bar unless your sitting there. The quality of the food is amazing but I went for brunch and was disappointed in the portion size for the price.
Went for brunch Sunday, we had a Bloody Mary & mimosa. I ordered French toast, it was so hard I couldn’t cut it! Our waitress apologize & asked if she could get me something else. I chose something simple so it would come out faster than our meals the toast wasn’t toast it was stale bread & the eggs were not appealing so I said I am all set & had a coffee! It wasn’t expensive only $8.00 but I wouldn’t go back! We were excited to go to a new place🥺
This was our first visit; two couples. We chose to eat outside due to very nice weather (but inside seating looked very inviting, comfortable, and clean).
There's a small parking lot in front, on Bird St. as well as around back along Mechanic street, and there are many spaces around the common just up the street, toward Cocasset street. I'll also mention that it was easy to get to, only about 1 mile from 95.
Our server was just fantastic, full of energy and cheer - seriously!
We started with a nice board of charcuterie which included many tasty treats. We then moved on to a variety of dishes: bbq ribs, bbq pulled chicken, a flatbread pizza and my own entrée - the "award winning" rib eye. Everyone was happy with their meal. I'll focus on the rib eye because it was truly outstanding. Cooked perfectly, served atop a generous helping of duck confit along with a side of roasted small potatoes, all topped with a bit of arugula.
Along with each bbq dish was some very tasty cornbread, worth mentioning because we've found it rare when ordering bbq elsewhere.
We also shared an order of parmesan truffle tots - again, delicious.
For dessert two of us shared a waffle ice cream sandwich, definitely no complaints here.
Great first experience! Our waitress was lovely and the Bavarian Pretzel was soooo good!
