Union Place Hotel
Such a great place! Food was really nice but a little bit pricey for a pub. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a great place for a special occasion dinner.
We found the seating to be cramped, constantly colliding with the people seated behind us. The stuff you bought in food were unable to move around our table and we had to pass things along. It was so noisy that we could not hear the people across the table from us in conversation. The menu is extensive but the dessert menu was very disappointing.
We were very impressed with the Union Place Hotel! The staff were lovely , we received a beautiful cheese plater on the house for Valentine's Day and although the wrong meal was delivered to our table which we excepted anyway, we were offered complimentary dessert to compensate. The atmosphere is awesome and the band was great ! I would definitely recommend the Union Place Hoel for your next night out !
Most was good. Not impressed with high cost of card surcharge. It’s well over what Is recommend.
Great atmosphere, great food, great night overall
Casual, good value venue. Child friendly, helpful staff. More bar staff required during busy periods.
I love the food and cocktails, very creative and healthy meals.
Handy location, good menu choice, great chefs specials and excellent members perks. The Australia Day themed cocktails were amazing. The cocktails are always good.
Very nice hotel, food was good but it was a shame it got really noisy when the ufc fights started. We were in the booths eating area with my elderly mother and the noise was very annoying. Hard to hear one another. We asked if the volume could be turned down in the dinning area but apparently it couldn’t???
Maybe something to think about changing.
Otherwise it was quite pleasant before the noisy issue...
Mains did not all arrive at once, leaving some of us to eat our food cold. Overall taste was bland (consensus around the table). Booth are seats too low for taller people, and realistically only seat two to a side, not three. If your preference is craft beer, don’t bother. Very noisy too, but then it is a pub.
It’s more a restaurant then a pub but very nice decor. However, for the price of the meals they were small. I had the prawn pasta and went home hungry. My husband got a steak and said it was just ‘nice’. Not great value for money. I also HATE the access from the car park. I had a pram and the side entrance is a Set of stairs!
Great family place to eat. Lovely Sunday afternoon music session. Highly recommend!
Love going to the Union Place Hotel for lunch, dinner and drinks .. however we won’t be back for breakfast. We were the only family eating in the pub this morning, after the group of 4ppl left - no ambience. The eggs florentine was lovely, however a “side of bacon” being 1 rasher was very underwhelming for the price. The omelette was good. The smashed avo was sadly inedible - served brown horrible tasting avocado. The fruit loaf was presented well. We used a $25 voucher from Monday nights wining and still paid $70. Zero service apart from the lovely lady behind the bar that brought our meals out. Very different service from when the pub first opened.
Food was good although the menu was a little bit limited
Great value eating. Nice environment
Extremely noisy and tables on top of one another . Very busy
2 meals out of 9 were received incorrectly - 1 should have been parmigiana but was plain when received and the other was chicken but should have been veal. Chef was apologetic and replaced meals and provided complimentary beer so all good in the end.
We visited Union Place Hotel for dinner on Saturday 4th January. We found that the food was excellent. Our only isuue was that it was quite noisy but as it was very busy I guess that a certain level of noise is to be expected. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and would certainly visit again.
Beautiful venue, casual yet classy. Perfect for afternoon drinks with friends
Good food and service, nice atmosphere. We’ll come back.
Six of us visited for dinner and we ordered six different meals. All of the meals were very good and we will definately return.
Staff were amazing & food excellent. We thought the only improvement could be a bit of background music.
Went there for my birthday dinner.Great service and food.enjoyed by us all.
Great food, lovely decor. Will definitely be back regularly
Friendly staff and excellent customer service. All the meals were great although most of the mains came with potatoes in skin and green beans. A choice of sides would have been nice. Drinks a little pricey for a hotel in its location. Very enjoyable lunch and afternoon for our group of ten people of varying ages.
We enjoyed the Union Place Hotel and the food and service was very good but it was too noisy which takes away from the enjoyment of it.
Great food and ambience. Enjoyed a night out with a group of friends and would love to visit again.
Loved it, was easy to book a table and order food and drinks! The friends I caught up with had a lovely time too! Nice area, and nice atmosphere. Great!
On arrival was a little extra noisey but it was Christmas cheer Food waste excellent and even security guard was polite would recommend and will return
Food tasty and good variety of pub grub and modern dishes. Nice to see some variety on kids menu too
Enjoyed the easy relaxed comfortable experience of having breakfast at our local hotel... loved the menu options available.
I was pleasantly surprised by the who experience - good was very good and staff friendly - maybe add a few more to the beer selection on tap and it’s a winner
The noise was too loud - the music could have been a little lower - that way you can still talk while they at playing. The food was fantastic as was the service
Food was very tasty and good sized helpings, we had the bar food which was Aranchini Balls, Salt and Pepper Squid and would pick the same again. Noise levels at the tables inside was a bit high but nothing too over the top.
Great new place in the shire. Busy and the food is high quality with specials that change all the time.
We were told to try this place out. The food was good however no different to any of the other new establishments in the shire .. chefs need to be more creative ! From the out set the noise level was loud .. would like to live above or next door ! The food was good however service was slow however it was busy. When the mains came out we were short one meal and it arrived very quickly given it was only spaghetti and Seafood .. I could of knock that up in no time ?? The compensating fact was the waitress gave us a complimentary dessert to share which was a good gesture. Luckily we chose a booth we managed to have some conversation .. however the singer soon drowned out any further conversations and we were desperately waiting for them to take a break ! Would we return maybe .. so it happens we are heading back again for a Xmas party .. I mentioned this place to a couple of friend and there comment was it is very noisy .. they got that right .. not sure how you fix that it would have had to been in the initial design hard to rectify now. Overall a 5 out of 10 just.
I have been recommending Union Place Hotel to family and friends for some time now.
We have been to the Union on two occasions in the last few weeks. The first experience & meal we really enjoyed. Hence we went back. Pretty disappointed the 2nd time. Told around 20 mins for the meal turned out to be an hour. Some entrees were supposed to come out with the mains this didn't happen even after a staff member checked with us. Part of our table had to eat before the rest of us were served. Disappointing. Clearly they weren't geared up for evening volume.
We had a lovely dinner. Food and staff were great. Cocktails were very good and the atmosphere was awesome. Thanks and we will be back!!
