Uncle Momo

The food was underwhelming, lacking in taste, and not very appealing.

Highly recommend the French toast as my wife and I attended Momo for a brunch. Our food was outstanding and everything else that came out the kitchen going towards other tables looked yummy as well!

We ordered Tunisian Eggs and Momo’s Toast for brunch. Both were delicious even though I asked for the eggs to be poached instead of sunny side up. We love the varied brunch menu.

There seems to be a mixup with reservation times. Ours was for 2:45 pm for 2. Reservation made at 1:55 pm through Open Table.

I had lamb ribs it good but not amazing and the panacota wasn’t fresh that’s all

as previous reviewer commented, restaurant had the feel of a european cafe. agreed. cozy. good food. relaxed atmosphere. and local shop delivered a delicious and reasonably priced wine. would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Great service. The host and waitress were super nice. Food was something different but the salmon crepe I ordered did not have much flavor.

Uncle Momo is my favorite neighborhood bistro. The food is great and the bistro itself is charming, altho dining is mostly outdoors now due to Covid but that’s fine! They have a great outdoor area set up on the sidewalk. I can eat here weekly, no problem (In fact, I get takeout from Momo weekly, happy to support this place!). The weekend brunch menu is my absolute favorite. Everything is so savory. You definitely want to eat here!

Service was very slow. Outdoor sitting was very plain and facing a very noisy street. We had chicken kabobs. The food was good, reasonable priced.

My party was told upon arrival that the reservation was never confirmed. I confirmed the reservation via text message and even called the restaurant and asked them about a seating question I had. I had a 7:30 reservation and my party was seated a little bit before 8pm. The restaurant seemed short staffed or didn’t know how to deal with a Friday dinner rush. We didn’t receive utensils (both individual and serving) with our apps, asked for a wine opener and never got that, and asked twice for the heat to be turned on and the server giggled and said she didn’t know to to turn it on. We were also told that the kitchen closes around 8:15 and needed to place our orders in by then. Kind of crazy given a party of 7 was seated at 8pm. It was clear that the staff wanted to leave by a certain time because we felt rushed. Apps were good but all mains except for the falafel platter and chicken schwarma were subpar. We also placed our dessert order with our mains and clearly they never took it down because they came back at the end to ask. Two of the items we ordered were not available. Super disappointing experience.

Best Falafel and Hummus around. The pitas are fresh and delicious too. MOMO’s never disappoints.

Great food and service

Socially distant, all servers were masked, friendly and made good recommendations. Good brunch options. Try any of the benedicts. Classic Middle Eastern cuisine is fresh and flavorful. Next try: pitzas.

I’ve been dining here for years, and the outdoor seating during Covid has been great. The food is always excellent: they make the freshest hummus and bread you’ve ever tasted, the tangine is also excellent. My favorite spot for brunch by far.

We made a reservation for 830pm and fifteen minutes before we arrived they called us to inform us that their kitchen was already closed. I normally love this place but DON’T let customers make a reservation when you cannot serve them!

Given the current circumstances, Uncle Momo provided a safe and positive dining experience. The food was unbelievably delicious. We ordered 2 starters and an appetizer and it was more than enough for 2. We will definitely visit again!

Uncle Momo is one of our favorites in Montclair.

We arrived at 5 pm last Thursday night and were the only people in the restaurant. Three of us all ordered Quzi, a specialty, filo dough encasing rice, vegetables and lamb. There was almost no lamb in the pastry, and what there was of it was grizzly and fatty. Most of it was rice! We won’t frequent Uncle Momo any more.
