Delicious food, and pleasant service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back!
Lovely local restaurant with some fab dishes such as the grilled mushrooms, gyoza and Burmese Khao Suey. The service was fantastic and extremely attentive.
I would say for an 'Asian' restaurant the food was extremely bland - every dish could have done with more spice to give it more pep. The restaurant did lack atmosphere, perhaps more soft furnishings or pictures on the wall would have helped this? The restaurant was also unaware as to what an Open Table Dining Cheque was and refused to take it which was a shame.
Despite this, my family and I enjoyed a very relaxed dinner and were not pressured at all to order mains or desserts which nowadays, I find quite rare in the restaurant industry. Despite not ordering dessert (we overdid it on the staters) the restaurant were also able to make my mother's birthday special by putting a candle in some ice cream which was extremely thoughtful.
Food is excellent & interesting for sure! The staff lacks experience and attention to detail...or have not even waited before! Bit of a let down as the staff was a lot more attentive when we came here the last time...
The space needs some acoustic attention/dampening/softness added as its very loud inside.
Dear Diner Many thanks for your review. We are a new restaurant, and are re-training our staff to provide attentive service. We shall also look at the acoustics issue and see how best to solve this. We look forward to welcoming you at Una again! Many thanks Una Management
Lovely food but service wasn’t great. We waited ages to be served and people around us who came in much after ate well before us. They did give us a free drink to apologise though!
The food was fab but sadly the service was a little disjointed- we ordered our wine at the same time as our food only to have to request it again when the food arrived. As a group of six hungry ladies we asked if all the dishes could be served at the same time which we received promptly except for one which arrived after we had eaten.
The bathroom also needs a much bigger bin to dispose the wet hand towels - these over spilt and there was a heap on the floor!
A beautiful place. The food was outstanding and we will definitely be back. Talking to the waitress she informed us that Una has only been open since December, so good going! The only “negative” for us was that the service, albeit very warm and welcoming, was quite slow. We had been out drinking and so were happy to continue at Una and wait... but we can imagine this may upset some people.
Very good food service but acoustics are not great .
Many thanks for your review and feedback. We are working on the acoustics to enhance the ambiance.
The food was delicious and staff very friendly and welcoming
Really fabulous food, unusual blends of flavour. We cleared everything!!
On the downside we waited 45 minutes for the main and 40 minutes for the main, not sure if all the team know exactly what they are doing and ther roles; however I will be returning as the food was outstanding
Highly recommended to us and we were in no way disappointed....excellent all round, we will be back on our next visit..
The only thing that matters about this place is the food which was fantastic. The Asian tapas theme is a winner and the different flavours were an absolute delight.
The decor is v nice and I liked the staff, a little polish would improve things but you sense it’s coming and to be honest it kind of fits the ambiance.
Left having thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience and that’s the most important thing.
Lovely service just a bit slow.
Wonderful to give us both the beautiful gift.
We had a great night. Very good selection of dishes. Spinach salad was our favorite. Food tasty and staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Excellent find - we will be back.
Great food - especially enjoyed the small plates and dessert. Ambience and service is fantastic too.
Quality food but a little overpriced! Great service and very welcoming.
The staff were really friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing, can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend
Amazing Asian tapas we loved the lamb chops and Malay popcorn prawn so much we ordered them twice
Lamb curry was also good. Lots of fresh herbs and spices all cooked to order
Wouldn’t hesitate to revisit or recommend
Great friendly happy staff too always makes a big difference
Simple things done well thank you Una
instead of the salmon we got the chicken, but mistake was corrected quickly with a smile.
Great food, lamb curry and chicken tikka masala is excellent, would recommend! :)
Amazing lamb curry! Lovely birthday desserts! Would recommend!
New local restaurant that we have wanted to visit for a while. Una is definitely still finding its feet. Staff warm, friendly and helpful (although could probably ease up on the upselling!). Food was patchy. Starters were good and one of the mains was tasty, the thai curry was not good at all. Overall the experience was fine. I wouldn't rush back but i would like to return in a few months to see if it has a more consistent offering. There certainly seemed to be willing to provide good food and service so I hope that will ensure its success over the coming months. Richmond locals always want to support local shops and restaurants.
Me and my other half were very excited to try out this new local restaurant with beautiful decor on Valentine’s Day. It all started well, despite there were at least 30 mins waiting time between each course. It was tolerable as the waiters have been attentive and friendly.
Two hours in, we have had three small starters.
“Our chef wants you to leave gap in between each meal for you to enjoy the 6 course meal fine dinning experience... “ manager (or owner?) told us. I giggled, by this time we’ve had one mushroom, a very small bowl of soup and two asparagus. To be very frank, I didn’t expect this kind of rude and patronising attitude.
Then 30 mins later three pieces of bite-size chicken on a bed of salad arrived. We were told that they have served the two families with babies first, which left three tables of hungry customers waiting.
Overall, I wouldn’t call this a fine dining experience and I wasn’t expecting one. The food have a lovely presentation but they were very bland. If you’re lucky (or coming with babies) you will be severed very quickly. If you’re looking for fine dining, we would suggest to head down to Bingham hotel nearby, or Dragons Inn next door for tasty food and exceptional service. I understand it’s a new restaurant and there are a lot of room for improvement. However, with the attitude of the manager, we are sorry to say we would better avoid this place.
We do thank you the other waitress try to make the situation better.
Friendly service, great tips on what to order. The best lamb curry- totally worth a visit! And exquisite decor!
I went here by chance when another nearby restaurant was full and I loved it so much that I insisted another friend went with me again a week later.
The staff may be new and some are still learning, but their enthusiasm and passion for perfection really comes across. Even the chef, Andy, comes out of the kitchen towards the end of the evening to greet each table.
The food is a modern interpretation of old favourites, with exciting combinations of authentic spices and textures. I really enjoyed trying dishes I can’t get anywhere else. The menu has a healthy emphasis with plenty of vegan and gluten free options. Everything looks beautiful too.
My favourites are the Burmese curry with its array of extra ingredients to sprinkle as you like, and the lamb turmeric curry, which tastes spectacular. The truffle naan is gorgeous.
On my last visit, a nervous waitress accidentally spilt Prosecco on a diner’s sleeve and his angry reaction and immediate requests for a large discount worried me that they may struggle to survive in such a demanding town as Richmond, but after profuse apologies from the waitress, the chef’s offer to pay the dry cleaning bill and free after dinner liqueurs, the irate customer had been charmed.
Now my only concern is that this place will become too popular to get a table!
Our food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive. The curry was decent the rest of the dishes were just okay. The ‘Una’ Salad was not good at all. I’m sure it’s teething problems as they are new. I wish they had handled our horrible experience with good customer service so I didn’t have to write this review, but they really didn’t.
