Delicious small plates and presentation was great but service was lacking a bit when it got busier. Overall would recommend a visit!
Amazing food, small plates, 5 plates for two would be more than enough. I can’t wait to go back again.
over priced. small plates are like little entree for 12£ each. difficult to share.
will not come back.
Loved this restaurant, the service was great (waiters name was Stephen I think) the food was lovely and they even made us cocktails based on what we would like off the cocktail list. It is noisy but in a nice atmospheric way!!
Absolutely amazing food and impeccable service! Will definitely be going back!
Love the setting right in the heart of Borough Market. It was athmospheric and warm - food was nice too. We were rushed though and the waitress who topped our glasses as we were on our first bottle of red didn’t do one of them so we ordered another one - we were going to anyway but rushed it because of her mistake. I’ll return .. as it was a different kind of place to eat - and like I said food was very nice.
What a treat this place is. Delicious, fresh produce cooked simply with magnificent flavour, unique cocktails and fantastic service. A huge thanks to Lou for making my evening. I would not hesitate to return.
Fabulous food and fabulous service in a vibrant enviroment
Loved the small plates because it means you can sample multiple dishes - you can tell it’s quality seasonal produce because all tasted amazing. Such a great concept and really cool venue if you’re looking for something a bit different. The cocktails were a highlight! Definitely coming again!
Loved the food, location and excellent service. Will be coming back!
Fantastic small plates enjoyed in an atmospheric setting. A real experience.
Atmosphere was incredible, food and drinks were excellent- can’t wait to go back !
Friendly staff & amazing food /vino. cosy little corner with wall heaters... so didn’t need my thermals !
Quirky little place with 10 tables at the back of a vegetable stand in the market. Emphasis on veggies and very competent chef. Didn't try the wine today but based on neighbouring tables the selections on offer were appealiung with some local wines on offer which is great to see.
Really great evening with fantastic food (we had 4 little plates and they were all delicious). Very friendly service and a great atmosphere between all the fruit and vegetables! Train noise overhead, but it did not bother us, added to the atmosphere. Found the wine a bit pricey, but first outing since lockdown so we were prepared to splash! Can definitely recommend and will be back.
One of the best experiences I've had in London in years. The setting is completely unique, and what sets it apart is the quality of food, wine and service you get while sitting in the back of a vegetable stall. Everything feels absolutely first-rate, without the stuffiness you'd come to expect with that level of quality. Service is very friendly and on-point. It feels like a completely hidden gem, that you'd be lucky to experience while it lasts.
Amazing amazing food and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it
Steven was a wonderful waiter and the whole place was incredible
Lovely little restaurant right in the heart of Borough Market. Food was outstanding and the cocktails were great!
So lovely to be out again! This was like being in a restaurant, and didn’t at all feel like a compromise of being outside. The whole menu felt properly farm to table and the waiters were excellent at explaining the small plates menu. Perfect amount of food, great choice, innovative cooking. Loved it. And they made my birthday special with a complimentary dessert - it’s the little touches! Highly recommend
My first lunch out since lockdown lifted. My friend had not been to Borough Market before. She loved it and the ambience at Turnips. Three plates with hummus and pita bread plus sharing a dessert. Perfect! And good value. Wait staff were excellent. Will definitely return and recommend.
We loved the food and being surrounded by beautiful produce, a fab night in the market.
Delightful young waiters who were generous enough to flirt with me and my friend - the food was delicious too!
Super delicious food. A real treat in the pandemic!
We spent a lovely afternoon at Turnips. The service was great, quick and helpful and we loved the food. Yes, the tailtracks above cause some noise but it didn’t bother us in the slightest. They will get a coffee machine soon, too which will be the cherry on top for such a small space. Would definitely recommend!
The food was great and the atmosphere was also great as it was within Borough Market on a nice sunny day. Unfortunately, I had a few issues and of course, this is unlikely to be the same experience for everyone, but...
Upon arrival (after having this table booked for a few weeks), we were greeted in slightly confused manor. After having two people check for our reservation, we were then taken to the inside of the seating area - here, we were stood for a few moments while the waitress looked confused at the table which was obviously meant to be our (it was occupied at the time). She then sat myself and my girlfriend down at a table for 6? whilst disappointed to be sat at such a big table for the two of us, we also noticed that we had been seated under a blaring speaker which we then asked to be turned down.
As we settled down, we were approached by several team members after telling each one we need more time. Then, the main waiter serving us, pulled down his face mask to lean inbetween us and talk to us... this made us feel very uneasy and a little disappointed as it was a first outing since the pandemic. He was a lovely guy, but continued to talk to us multiple times with his face mask down below his chin...
I would love to know the thought process behind the whole experience, as it is a highly recommended restaurant with great reviews, but unfortunately, we just didn't get the same experience...
Lovely food, poor attention to detail and customer care.
Great food - an excellent find. Really enjoyed the trip to Turnips. And looking forward to visiting again. Menu was very interesting - and delicious. A great location too.
Food was absolutely delicious, would definitely eat again. Felt warm enough thanks to heat lamps, wasn't too busy but tables were quite close together.
Pricey but you can definitely taste the quality.
Second visit. Delicious food in a quirky atmosphere. Quite unique.
BUT front of house now OTT. Despite booking 2 months in advance tried to seat us on the pavement area - freshly bleached by the stall opposite.
Initial claims that the 'inside' of the restaurant was for fine dining only took several minutes of discussion to overcome. Not good when even the 'small plates' menu is that pricey....
will book fine dining next time to avoid the hassle. Guess that's their grand plan.
Really cool little place. Fresh produce. Very nice tapas style!
Nice atmosphere but pretty cold. Not all outdoor heaters were switched on. Food was OK, no real standout dishes however from the small plates meny5
Amazing food from fresh produce, the small plates gave us an opportunity to try lots of dishes!
Great atmosphere, simple and delicious food beautifully presented. Staff couldn’t be lovelier!
Great food, nice and warm location. Difficult to get hold of a waiter.
Wine extortionate. Food not bad.
Noise levels high due to location, but bearable.
Really wonderful little hiding place in Borough Market. Food was wonderful and the service smashing. Great to be amongst the hustle and bustle of the market but also hidden away!
Such a lovely experience- the staff were warm and attentive. Despite there being a lot of tables, we were not close to anyone else. The food is amazing- truly fine dining tapas and their signature cocktails are OK but I preferred the classic ones.
What an absolute gem! Such interesting and tasty dishes. The restaurant is at the back of the turnips stall, excellent produce and perfect setting with heaters, blankets and seat warmers.
We had the perfect afternoon here and would highly recommend a visit.
We had to eat outdoors, but the few hanging heaters were not enough to keep us warm in such a drafts place, we ended up feeling freezing cold, especially as it took nearly one and a half hour to get our food. Very disjointed service, took forever to even get water and over an hour to get grilled bread. Friendly staff, but terrible kitchen service. Rickety table, uncomfortable chairs, tables too close together to meet with Covid regulation. The trains going past above our heads were deafening.
Won’t go again.
we were a table of 5 sitting outside in the Borough market. Lots happening. We ordered some bread starters and one each of the seven small plates to share. All superb as was the chocolate sweets. Clean loos. Top place all round.
