Scrambled eggs and pancakes were delicious!!! Evelyn was an amazing, friendly, genuine waitress with such a great personality and good vibes!! Love her.
Happy Birthday to our amazing server (21 with 14 years of experience).
She was absolutely wonderful, patient and welcoming.
We really appreciate the review. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to see you again soon!
In our 10:15am brunch reservation, we requested outdoor seating with cover from the elements. There was only one large umbrella which was closed & the tables closest to it were already occupied:( We sat adjacent to the building under a very narrow awning and got sunburnt anyways. Food and drinks were great! We look forward to trying it again when the weather is a little more tolerable.
Thank you so much for your review!! We have gotten our umbrella fixed and added some others. We look forward to seeing you again on our newly SHADED patio!!
The butter milk chicken is delicious and the service is good
Thank You Patricia for the 5 star review!!! Look forward to seeing you again.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. One the best omelette I’ve ever had. Biscuits and pancakes were also wonderful. Staff was very friendly as well. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
We appreciate your positive feedback about your experience. We take pride in serving our customers and hope to see you again soon!
Adventuring back out into the world of dining in a restaurant can be daunting. We were pleasantly surprised with all aspects of our experience at Tupelo Honey!
We were greeted warmly and brought to our table. We passed many tables with cards explaining that the table was not available for seating for distancing accommodations. All staff wore masks, placed appropriately on the face, and were kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was extraordinary! There was not one item that we ordered that wasn’t prepared to perfection. You can tell that the recipes are made with love!
Do yourself a favor and venture out to Tupelo Honey! It is fantastic!
Hi Julia! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed our scratch-made Southern dishes and hospitality. Please come see us again soon!
My table was very dirty and the wait staff was very unorganized
We were so let down by this experience. We’re actually from Tupelo in the south and while visiting DC saw this on yelp classified as southern cooking. Let me tell you, this is not what southern cooking tastes like. Big disappointment. Asked the waitress to recommend the best selling appetizer...she said Brusell sprouts. They came out cold literally 45 seconds after ordering them. So I’m assuming they’d just been made for another table incorrectly and so we got them. They had no flavor. Supposed to be garlicky and lemon...it was tasteless. Shrimp and grits were very bland. The server was very sweet but she seemed quite incompetent. Asked for tea three times and condiments because she kept forgetting even though she only had two other tables. I’m also a server at a restaurant so I tried to be understanding but this was just honestly a bad experience overall. It was the only restaurant that had spaces available to make a reservation and I now understand why.
The biscuits are "must-have" and the service was top-notch. will definitely be back.
Thanks, Carmelia! We really appreciate the review. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to see you again soon!
heather was a very wonderful "server in training."
enthusiastic and sweet.
she will be a wonderful addition to the staff at this location.

The food is good, and seasoned well. Great choices to select from. Loved the shrimp and grits, along with sweet potato pancakes.
Thanks! We really appreciate the review. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to see you again soon!
You can tell the portions are smaller likely due to COVID. Sadly, the biscuits are not complementary anymore.
I love the butter milk chicken!!!! Good serving size portions
So worth the hour drive.
The waiter & food was awesome !
I loved everything especially the collard greens. We ended up ordering 2 serving each.
We can't wait to go back.
We appreciate your positive feedback about your experience. We take pride in serving our customers and hope to see you again soon!
I've been here a few times and the food is either great or not good at all. Unfortunately, the last time I dined there, the fry on the outside of the chicken was mushy and the brussels sprouts were singed and flavorless. On the upside, the banana pudding was outstanding. I want to cheer for this location, but the food on my last few visits was not great.
I feel like my experience would have been so much better without COVID in the picture. Although I understand why they set things up the way they did, it caused a pretty unenjoyable experience. They close at 8 but said they would honor the reservation but last call is at 8:30. & when they say last call, THEY MEAN IT. couldn’t even get a water refill, a side of ranch ANYTHING. When they said it it made it seem like you can get all the food you want until 8:30 but EVERYTHING? That was kind of disappointing, had I known/ they were more clear/transparent about the limitations, I would’ve if went somewhere else or picked an earlier time. But all is not lost, the food was GREATTTTTT, the drinks with 3/5 & the servers were as nice as they could be with what they could do.
Yum! Everything was super good! The drinks are also amazing!!! Get the chicken!
Was disappointed with the size and quality of the greens of my Southern Cobb Salad - I’d been 2 weeks prior for lunch and LOVED it, the freshness, the quality, and the size. Willing to think tonight was an off night, but very disappointed- the greens were mostly the core, light green/yellow of the romaine. And size was about half
That as 2 weeks ago.
Friend got side sampler which was “okay” and “lack luster”.
Pimento dip app was great and we enjoyed the drinks.
Great dining experience. Food and service were great. Just wish they had more umbrellas out to protect us from the intense heat. There was only one table that had an umbrella. Everyone else cooked outside!
The waiter seemed stressed but was great overall!
Love this place! We sat outside which was nice for the evening and the noise level fine, but stark feeling being an urban location. The service was good. The servers were attentive, and appropriately brief in their interactions. We’re all getting used to new ways of communicating is my sense.
Everything we ordered—drinks, entrees and dessert were delicious. The veggie burger was very tasty but very mushy to the point of “runny” and totally unable to be eaten like a “real” burger. I had to use a fork/ knife to eat it. And since texture isn’t a high priory’s for me, I didn’t mind it as much as others who probably would. Again, it was delicious.
Regarding the menu “app”:
I recommend replacing The scroll bar at bottom of main screen to choose “main menu or kids menu, etc” with a pop up button or something else that makes that feature/step more prominent. It took me 3 times to figure out that I couldn’t access the menu choices until I saw this.
Like the solution to messy menus though, given our need to keep things clean!
Again, I love this place and am grateful for it being here in the area!
Best pancakes ever! Service was outstanding as well!
Wait staff unfamiliar with bar menu, ordered a salad and received instead some musty lawn clippings with nasty croutons just was a complete miss. French toast was ok, fried chicken was ok. Not somewhere I’ll ever need to visit again.
Celebrating a birthday with family
Food and drinks were incredible. Went for brunch and will absolutely be going back. Reasonable pricing and service was quick and easy!
We had brunch at Tupelo Honey and it was one of the best brunches I’ve had. The service was attentive and the food almost came out too quickly. Which really isn’t a problem is it? We ordered biscuits to start, which were probably the low point of the meal as they were a little dry. But the jams were delicious. I ordered sweet potato pancakes with a side of fried chicken. They were sooo good. Sweet and fluffy. My daughter had eggs Benedict on a fried green tomato. She had never had fried green tomato’s before and was talked into it by our server. She was not disappointed!! The banana pudding was a nice ending to the meal.
Brunch was so good and the staff were very friendly!
Jut closed earlier than we thought
My server was amazing we celebrated my daughter’s 7th birthday and the service was great they even gave her a card and our server helped us take pictures. Food was great as well.
Food was delicious! We opted to dine outside but wish we would have known the tables weren’t covered. It was scorching hot with no shade so I hope they make better accommodations for future customers who prefer to dine outside especially with the COVID situation. Customer service was very good though.
The food is always good at Tupelo Honey. The problem now is the lack of shade at the outside tables. During this time many diners opt for outside seating. At Tupelo Honey be prepared to have very little shade. There is exactly ONE umbrella for all the tables outside. You would think the restaurant could provide diners a bit of shade while enjoying brunch. Sadly, our experience was not great due to sitting at a high top table in the blazing sun. I would think they could do better.
Loved that they were taking extra precautions with Covid. They handled it very well and our small group felt very safe. Plus $3 mimosas!
It was amazing! Great brunch area, practiced safe distancing and sanitation was clear. Thanks so much for the experience!
Host and server were both very kind and fast!
The food came out fast and the waiter was attentive. I saw that they were following Covid-19 protocols nicely. My only complaint was that I wish they had more umbrellas setup outside. It was extremely hot, that my silverware would get hot. Some more shade would make me want to go during the day more.
My daughter just moved to Arlington and raves about this local establishment and she was spot on .
Went to dinner on their patio, post re-opening. Numerous changes to address cleaning/sanitizing tables and spaces after use have been implemented to make guests feel safe. Food was still just as great. Looking forward to going back again!
The waiter was very slow coming to our table to take our order. We didn’t know the kitchen closed at 8 and he came to the table after 8 to tell us this. Luckily we still got to order. However, we ordered pancakes and he brought French toast. We didn’t say anything because he already mentioned the kitchen was closed. I don’t think I’d come back here anytime soon.
Staff was NOT the friendliest I ordered 6 frozen rose’s the 1st set came with cherries which was a nice touch the second time it did not which was fine for our third round we requested cherries again as this was already given to us and the women behind the bar was EXTREMELY rude, gave us a dirty looks and said she did not have cherries& this is not something they do forgetting the fact that I received cherries with the first round and 2 mins before that I watched drinks being made for other guest with cherries, someone also came over not sure who they are or what they do in the restaurant but he gave us a poor mediocre excuse as to why we aren’t able to have cherries 10 seconds later WITH A ATTITUDE I must add the bartender has someone drop cherries off when she just looked us in our face and said she did not have any.. this was something so simple and small that could of been done to please the customer instead of being nice and accommodating we had to have the bartender along with some of the staff being argumentative with us.. even if this was something that I did not have what is a cherry to argue with a customer even if I wanted to purchase them. Not trying to say it was a race thing but the bartender was EXTREMELY RUDE.. gave us dirty looks rolled her eyes and was not friendly but yet everyone around us received the drinks with proper garnish’s and respect. The food was very good great deals but due to the service I wouldn’t return and I would not recommend this plac. I also left on my check that all guest deserve the same experience, it also does not help that I am in the restaurant industry as well, so receiving rude service from a employee is NEVER pleasant before you racially profile guest you should consider who they may be or what field they are in Especially during this pandemic we wanted to spend money but after receiving that service we quickly left Keep in mind this was expressed on my check but of course no one reached about this which is sad
