About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for business meals
  • Good for groups
Tujague's is the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans. This French Quarter institution has been serving traditional New Orleans cuisine to locals and visitors alike for more than 160 years.

Lore states that brunch originated here, as did the Grasshopper cocktail. Homages to the restaurant's long and colorful history abound within the interior of the building from the classic 19th century architecture to memorabilia on the walls.

Menu items such as the seared gulf fish and the daily gumbo meld French traditions with New Orleans fare and flare. Our famous five course menu is still served nightly; but have no fear, the menu is no longer pre-fixe, so those less ravenous diners can join in too.

If you want a quintessential New Orleans experience filled with history and local fare, Tujague's is your place.

From the OpenTable editors: It’s the second-oldest restaurant in New Orleans, with the claim to fame of inventing brunch—and some even say it’s haunted. Welcome to Tujague’s, founded by French immigrants in 1856, and still letting the good times roll for more than 160 years. Today it’s a slice of history in the French Quarter, filled with mirrors, chandeliers, and a collection of 6,000 mini liquor bottles. Don’t miss the spicy shrimp remoulade, boiled brisket, and grasshopper cocktail, another house original.

Executive chef: JD Eubanks

$22 bottomless brunch in the French Quarter? We had to see if it was worth it. 🍾 Between the historic New Orleans charm, adorable courtyard, friendly service, and unbeatable prices, this spot is an easy pick for a laid-back brunch with friends. 📍@tujaques_restaurant Would you try it? #NewOrleansBrunch #FrenchQuarterEats #BottomlessBrunch

We had a wonderful meal at Tujague's. The food was outstanding and service by Charles was excellent. My only disappointment was the smell of cigarette smoke pouring in from the diners on the patio and the "windows" between outdoors and inside dining. Nearly made us choose to leave. Wo

Our order took forever. The order was incorrect. The check was wrong and I was embarrassed for my party that I brought there. The dishes came out at the wrong time. Folks watched others in our party eat while they waited for the same course.

We attended Tujague’s Witches Brunch this year on Friday Oct 30, and enjoyed the food, but the overall experience felt rushed. Our appetizer arrived before our drinks, and throughout the meal, whenever we paused, someone asked whether we were finished. The entrée, dessert, and check followed quickly. I don’t think we were at our table for a full hour. I understand restaurants need to turn tables, but this was a special event with reservations, costumes, and guests looking to enjoy the occasion. Allowing around 90 minutes would have given us time to relax and take it all in. The food was good, but the pacing made us feel unwelcome and just a normal lunch time crowd of get your food and go. We wanted to enjoy a festive brunch, and instead felt hurried through the meal. I hope future Witches Brunches give guests more time to enjoy the experience.

Was in town for a very small convention and I can never pass up a op to come eat at Tujagues! First off, there was some new staff BUT they knew the menu and more importantly , the drink menu up and down! I’m easy. Started with Pimms and ended with Grasshoppers ha. Followed by some delicious gumbo. Ordered the small brisket plate since the drinks had me filled up. Crowds weren’t as bad as I was expecting due to the time of year. Beautiful Halloween themed bar. Short story long, my meal was perfect as always!! Staff, service and food was A++++

Unfortunately my husband and I didn’t care for our meals but taste and cooking styles differ from person to person. Someone else might have loved them. The restaurant was cute, service was excellent and every one was very friendly. I would try it again and order something different.

Jasmine, our server, was outstanding and the bus boy (I didn't get his name) was just as great. The only thing I would call is out is the gentleman at the door (I assume he is the manager. Had a bald head) was not very friendly. He seemed as though he was frustrated or in a bad mood and it showed.

I booked this dinner several months ago and due to bad timing there were two very large tables in the dining room and it so loud and the wait staff was so overloaded we had to leave. It too bad they did not utilize their large dining rooms for these parties so myself and two other small parties had to leave because they could not speak to each other. We did not get our appetizers so I cannot comment on the food. This was the place I look forward to the most on my first trip to New Orleans and was bummed out it was such a bad experience.
