Yet again the Trummer's team put together an amazing experience. Trout roe on asparagus gave a softly salty burst in the tongue against a light lemony sauce gribiche. Papardelle had perfect tooth against the rabbit and morrells. Tempura soft shelled crab was one of the best I've ever eaten, perfectly and lightweight crispy. I fear I'll never like any other preparation again! Slow roasted sunchokes were very novel, the right density against mixed greens which were perfectly cooked, not surprisingly. Save room for dessert, as they're just as much a delight on the tongue as starters and mains. Put in early for the blueberry strudel, so you're guaranteed not to be left out of some amazing berry against slightly sweet tart goat ingredients and texture. The milk chocolate tart was the perfect blend of cinnamon and espresso caramel, with none too dominant over the other. Looking forward to trying the sorbets of satsuma coconut and yuzu-cherry in honor of cherry blossom season; we brought pints home! Service was smooth and attentive, with Justin and Manuel keeping eagle eyes on all the tables, happy to oblige any request. We were hugely impressed, again, and will definitely be back soon!
Overall experience was great from start to finish. From the ambiance to the complimentary glass of sparkling wine and tasting (our anniversary). Both bartender and server were great and knowledgeable. Only detractor would be the portion size but overall this would/will not keep us from returning. Thank you to the staff and owners for a wonderful experience for our anniversary.
Amazing service and food
Simply fabulous
The menu changed a lot and the food was not enjoyable
Delicious meals and amazing service!!
This was a spectacular meal. There were four of us who had dinner at Trummers. We enjoyed the Anson Mills blue cornbread and the pea soup as starters. Both were fantastic. The pea soup was savory and topped with a potato roti. Then we had the Autumn Olive pork loin, the spare ribs and the scallops. Each dish was flavorful and beautifully plated. The wine selection was very good and the cocktail menu offered interesting and fun cocktails.
Loved patio seating. Had cocktail, wine, starters thru dessert and everything was first rate. Chef comes up with wonderful things like spring radish salad and pork with Korean fusion touch. Plus great classics like short rib with polenta. This was special occasion for us and great choise! Train during commute time weekday eve is little loud on patio but doesn't last long.
OVERPRICED
The $68 pre-fixed 3 course menu left so much to desire.
The food was ok, but $68 was overpriced for what the meal was.
The outdoor dining is fantastic. We were fortunate enough to grab a table for Easter brunch.
Enjoyed Easter dinner. Interesting very well prepared food.
Easter brunch was phenomenal! Can’t wait to return, we love Trummer’s
Outstanding as always. We are frequent Trummer’s customers and are never disappointed. Absolutely the best around!
Corn bread was burned and Black on the bottom. Generally it lacked any flavor at all. The black cod was well prepared and very good. Service was minimal even though the place was only 1/2 empty. No som visited the table even though we ordered a 275 dollar bottle of wine. The waiter spilled the wine on the table at one point. Overall the experience was disappointing. It will be some time if we ever go back. We have eaten here often for years prior to COVID.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in the near-Centreville area. Delicious, creative menu. Wonderful cocktails, which are not easy to find in this area! Friendly and effective staff. Classy, sunlit interior. Bonus - their menu changes a bit every few weeks so it'll never get boring. Will definitely be visiting here frequently.
The food and service are always great! This time we took our kids with us, not expecting a kids menu. Well great news Trummers added one! Our server was attentive, patient, and had solid recommendations!
Nice restaurant with good food and service. Wish the menu was bigger.
We really enjoyed our dinner! I highly recommend the titanic drink. Its refreshing and delicious. We had the cheese plate and truffle fries to start which was just enough for two people. The salads were outstanding and our main dishes were cooked to perfection. The short rib was full of flavor.
Delicious dinner as always. It was our first time eating in the patio and it was perfect. Loved the grilled octopus appetizer and the celery root soup was divine. Our group was very happy and full!
Not only did we find a babysitter, not only did we pick to eat outside on a brisk night, not only was this our 2nd dinner out together over the past year, we ended up picking the most perfect place! There was plenty of outdoor seating available at our 545 reservation and even when we left. The outdoor heaters only cover a handful of those tables and our was one of them and they worked great! Marko was a wonderful waiter, knew the history of the restaurant, and attended to us the right amount of times. The cocktails and wine were wonderful! The vegetable pot pie (which we both got) was incredible. I always try to avoid ordering meals that I’m typically drawn to (meat/fish) and I was so glad I did. We also got the sunchokes (which was a first for us) and they were also incredibly delicious. We will undoubtedly be returning here soon (and hopefully more frequent than twice a year).
Our 15 year anniversary! Great time at Trummers.
Excellent service and exceptional food! Trummer's never disappoints!
Ambiance and service were excellent. We were not impressed with the menu. I suppose it's limited due still to Covid (though most restaurants in the area have pretty much gone back to normal fare) but there were only 5 appetizer and 6 entree choices. The appetizer was not very good. The entrees were ok. We'll give it one more try when they go back to a full menu, but I get the impression they try to be a little too fancy (rather than just gourmet) and the food ends up being less than tasty.
The perfect night out. I’ve missed going out for food this good, and our server was incredible.
The pork steak was really good tasting but with the fat not rendered well and was tough to chew. I wouldn't order again. But the rib tips were great and the sunchokes were to die for. Service was immaculate and still the best best Perfect Manhattan in NOVA.
Great service, Great drink selection, Outstanding food.
This is the best place in dc area!
Superb all around. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints.
The Trummer’s are wonderful hosts of their beautiful restaurant. It is a lovely blend of European sophistication and super fresh seasonal ingredients, elegantly (and especially super tastily) combined by the awesome chef. The staff are all expertly trained and friendly. Always a great experience in every way.
Had a wonderful meal! The cocktails were also delicious.
Limited, heavy menu. Had to ask for a stemmed wine glass. Ordinary considering the rave reviews.
Truly one of our favorite restaurants in the world for so many reasons. Where to begin. The bar is cozy and the drinks are delicious and inventive, the dining room is gorgeous, the outside space is beautiful. The mural in the stairway reminds us of a time when restaurants weren’t all cookie cutter. Great, unusual wine list. Perfectly attentive service. But without all that, it would still be our first choice because of the food. The new chef is incredible. Last visit, we had brioche, leek soup, mixed greens salad, littlenecks, langoustine, golden rice, and for dessert the panna cotta and pavlova. All were absolutely amazing. Can’t say enough about how much we love this place.
the food was excellent, better than we have had before.
We hadn't been to Trummers in 2 years and decided to go for our 21st anniversary. We loved the new menu and the service can't be beat. We enjoyed it (and the new prices/menu) so much that we went back 3 weeks later. We have decided it's our new go-to for date night. I love the simple menu and the fact that it changes monthly (which insures the freshest ingredients are used)not to mention that have an extensive wine selection. Everything you get is excellent and I gave added bonus points for using locally sourced food. Trummers never disappoints!
Appetizers and beef with polenta was delicious. Homemade ice cream and pavlova was scrumptious
I only have great things to say about this restaurant! To start it’s a gem in Clifton. The staff could not be any friendlier. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like a VIP. Once seated, the owners are frequently at the restaurant and come to make sure you are 100% happy with your meal and service. The food is high quality and unique and the menu changes often, so you get the freshest ingredients possible. The mixologist, Mike, is experienced and makes well balanced, delicious cocktails. If you haven’t visited Trummers, it should be a must on your bucket list. Enjoy!
Because of COVID restrictions we had been unable to dine @ Trummer's in over a year! But it was worth the wait. Great hospitality, food, ambience. I love their signature cocktail dubbed the Titanic (complete with iceberg). The brunch menu is short but interesting. We both enjoyed the celery root soup with tableside presentation. The owner sent over the smoked salmon appetizer which we shared & liked very much. I had the prime rib on a pretzel roll w/ truffled fries. Hubby ordered the baked egg Shakshouka….we both voted it "best dish". He also had truffled fries. By then we were full so we had cappuccinos & shared the milk chocolate tart (topping was torched cinnamon meringue, reminiscent of s'mores!) Looking forward to returning for dinner soon.
We absolutely loved the place. We are still talking about the food and the service. The menu was amazing. American/French food infused with middle eastern spices and ingredients. Can’t find that anywhere in the DMV. The staff was amazing. Our waiter was so nice, knowledgeable with the menu and very friendly. Highly recommended
We had a great time. The food was fantastic. The ambience was tranquil & the service excellent. Will definitely be back
