The food was okay if not great. Not a good place to be for vegetarians. And don’t try Dan Dan. They don’t know how to prepare Dan Dan at all.

OpenTable helped w/ the reservation but after being seated and finished ordering, it took about 2 hours for entrees to be served. Service was terrible as no one was taking care of us. In the end, they took off one dish (out of seven) from our bill. Food was ok but poor service will not make me come back.

The food is scrumptious- especially love the Dan Dan and Szechuan dumplings and sliced beef with scallions. Since finding the restaurant while in Ridgewood we have returned three times in the last six weeks driving a distance of 45 miles because we enjoy it that much!

It's the best Chinese food in Ridgewood, which isn't saying too much, since every other Chinese restaurant in the town is less than acceptable. But I will gladly return and recommend it to others.

Thank you for trying us out, Ron! We buy high quality meats and ingredients. Our fishes and vegetables are purchased daily. My goal is to provide the most authentic but healthier Szechuan/Chinese food. I hand picked a handful of desert choices and fresh organic coffee (black coffee) that my patrons really enjoy. The food was great! When we arrived, we had to wait near the door. There was no hostess; the owner came eventually to seat us.

Our order was taken quite quickly; however, it took awhile to arrive. No waiter came by to ask us if we needed anything. We had to flag a waiter once or twice to get water glasses and to get them refilled.

The food was excellent and the musical entertainment was wonderful.

Thank you for trying us out and your kind review. I apologize that the service is less than satisfactory. It is difficult to recruit and retain good employees in this tight labor market but I will keep training my service staff to better serve our customers. My goal is to provide the most authentic and healthiest Szechuan/Chinese food. To make your dining more enjoyable, we have live music on Thursdays or Fridays or Sundays. In all fairness, we went to this restaurant on Christmas day, a very busy day for any Chinese restaurant I'm guessing. We arrived at 4:30 (we had a reservation) and they seemed very understaffed and disorganized even though the restaurant was half empty. The woman behind the desk was very lovely and tried to be accommodating but they must have been between meals or something because it was very chaotic there. Our party of 3 eventually got seated. We requested a certain table and were told that they were saving that table for a large group. Then a very short time later they gave the table to a group of 4. What???!!! Once the waiter came (a long wait for that to happen) things moved more quickly and smoothly. As for the food, some of it was very good such as the scallion pancakes, steamed pork dumplings and cold sesame noodles. The vegetable with tofu soup was tasteless and not worth getting at all. The braised crispy tofu with chile sauce was very tasty but not that crispy. I wasn't impressed with the sweet and sour chicken- it was pretty bland. Overall, I would go back to that restaurant and try some different dishes but I would try not to go at a very busy time.

Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes. The restaurant is very popular so we decided to give it a try. We ordered simple - shrimp with garlic sauce and Szechuan chicken. Frankly, the sauces were gloppy and sweet - I expected much better. Maybe we should have ordered the whole fish which looked good at the next table. Service was stellar. But unfortunately, we won't be going back. Sorry...

1. Seating is so cramped that the waiter could not get to the table and he was handing food across so that we could place it on the table. No one could get in and out of our table without people in 3 other tables having to get up!
2. Orders were mixed up. We got an extra appetiser that we did not order. When we told them that, we saw them shouting at the poor waiter so hard and they kept coming back to us again and again about the order that we Just decided to keep it and pay for it
3. The entrees came in one at a time. We ordered 5 and we had one come in without any rice to go with. Later 3 came and then they gave the rice and the 5 th one never came for a long time that we had to remind them again... all this food was passed on from across the walkway, coz the seating was so cramped... the waiter could not reach the table!
4. Water and tea was not fulled in a timely manner and of course we had to ask for it multiple times and have it passed over to us across the walkway including hot tea!
5. We realised that other tables were having the same experience as well.
Very bad experience in all

Very nice experience with both the waiter and owner. Friendly and fast service. The dishes were a delight and we'll happily go back to try more items off of the authentic Chinese menu. Nice to have some alternatives to the classic American-Chinese fare.

Kung Pao chicken, chicken fried rice, Singapore noodles (we requested--not on menu), salt 'n' pepper shrimp (again, we requested) for some real foodies. It was all amazing. Truly wonderful food.

We were delightfully surprised how excellent the food was here. We love Chinese food and now Ridgewood finally has a great place to go for authentic dishes. We had the soup dumplings, probably one of the beat that we have eaten. We followed with their Lamb Sichuan which was perfectly spiced along with their snow pea greens that were truly excellent. Lotsa flavor with very little fat. We will return very soon.

We visited as part of the town's Restaurant week. The food was amazing and so authentic. The owner was very nice and friendly and talked enthusiastically about the improvements she was continually making to the menu and the ambiance. The food was true to its ethnicity. My husband said that his choices were the best he had ever eaten! Once this restaurant's reputation catches on, it will become the neighborhood GEM !

Very authentic Sichuan cuisine. Soup dumplings were delicious as was the cucumber salad, fried dumplings, and especially the boiled fish in hot chili soup. If you want real Chinese food this is a must try.

Hot and sour soup was good, but I've had better - The dan dan noodle appetizer was excellent but they need to serve it in a bigger bowl so you can toss the noodles with the sauce and pork before eating it, otherwise you end up with all the sauce/pork at the bottom of the bowl with the last couple bites of noodle. The white fish in chili sauce was also excellent - way too big a portion for one person, ,was able to take home leftovers for another meal. My husband had the wonton soup which he said was good but, again, he has had better - He ordered the beef in chili sauce and he did not like it as much as I liked my dish. There is so much more on the menu we would like to try, so we will definitely be back - The employees were super friendly, our waitress was pleasant enough, but they definitely need to work on their service. I received and ate my soup before my husband received his, same with our entrees, which is not acceptable especially since the restaurant was not full at all on a Sunday eve. Hoping they work out the service kinks since it is a welcome addition to town.
