Tasty and innovative fresh food. Convivial setting. Convenient parking lot for reasonable service charge.
Totally delicious. Fun and lively Great service.
I hosted a group of 10 teenagers (well, near adults). Half of them were nearly an hour late and the servers were wonderful. Kids were thrilled with the food. My husband and I sat at a table separate of them. Both were terrific.
I love their commitment to healthy food and local suppliers. Their Korean noodles were AMAZING, took me right back to when I lived in Asia. If you have sensitivity to noise, it is a hard place. But fantastic restaurant!
Service was really great and attentive. Beautiful place to sit outside and have a Sunday brunch! Delicious cocktails as well.
We were seated 10 min after our reservation time and sat for another 25 min with no one even acknowledging our table until we stopped a server to request service. One reason we got a server they were amazing. We were offered no apologies by a manager or any compensation for the rude/non existent service when we sat.
It’s one of my favorite lunch spots! The food is always fresh and delicious!
The edamame dumplings are one of my absolute all time favorite dishes.
I love everything about True Food except the noise.
Very good food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. I go there regularly.
I love True Food. But we had very poor service. I'll. E back because I know it's rare. Unfortunately the others in my party won't be back.
Food is always good here but service, while friendly, is too casual and almost unprofessional. Our appetizers were served quickly but then, 2 minutes later, the main course arrived on the table! And, then, Drinks followed the main course! How is that really possible, I don’t know. And, drinks (2 Cava glasses) were absolutely room temperature warm which is also unacceptable. We let the server know but nothing developed except getting a nice smile from her. Anyway, once again, food quality is very good to excellent but everything else is just so-so ...
We were celebrating our friend’s birthday. The server was obviously overextended. Our food was good, but service erratic. We would have liked to stay for desert, and intended to do so but with the delay, we needed to get going to the symphony
Loved it. Seats not so comfy
Parking cost me $15, food was bland and the noise level was super high. Not a good experience.
The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived - the slowest I’ve ever seen. The service was slow and I believe an item ordered as an appetizer was never delivered.
The food was excellent as always, our server was also very kind, however our orders were totally mixed up, so 1 person had to wait to have her meal reordered correctly. But it's a great place overall.
Meh. Positives - dining room was fantastic, a beautiful indoor/outdoor space, it is no wonder it is popular, we've been itching to try this place for a while but never booked ahead and didn't want to wait, this time we booked. The "O.G." Ginger drink was great and my daughter loved the raw veggies with her meal.
Negatives - They bought 2 of the 4 meals about 5mins before the other two - inexcusable imho. When they bought my meal they only bought one of the sides I'd ordered (sprouts), which turned out to be cold. My daughter's sweet potato side was also cold, but she didn't care. When I complained about my side being cold they changed it but the replacement came after we had all finished our meals. Food was under seasoned and a bit bland. Server was stretched between tables so we didn't see him too much. My white wine wasn't cold enough, I had to add some ice from the OG to make it cooler.
This might sound like I am hard to please but really I'm not, I'm pretty easy going but every restaurant should have the basics down - like bringing the meals together. The server was very apologetic and they gave us $30 off our meal which was decent of them.
We won't be going back, which is a shame as the ambiance was definitely A+++
Great outdoor option in Pasadena which is family and puppy friendly! Lots of options to suit everybody's food craving. Creative and delicious cocktails.
Service could be a little faster.
We had reserved a table for five and two of our party were delayed in traffic. The waitstaff were very patient with us and allowed us to wait for a half hour for them before we began our order. The food and drinks were excellent.
Great dinner as usual -- my husband and I just love True Food Kitchen. The food was healthy and tasty at the same time. We ate outside and enjoying the warm Southern California evening. A wonderful dinner on a perfect evening. We even walked there and back home.
Especially enjoyed the flatbread seasonal starter with beets, arugula, pumpkin seeds, cilantro pesto, cheese and more. And I just love the grass fed burger with mushrooms!
Everything was great but food service was slow. Had 12pm Rez. Good didn’t come out until 45 min of being seated.
The staff was great, super friendly and informative. Food was awesome, and the vibe was relaxing.
Very noisy. Cold drafts at first table we were given - the couple at the next table were dining with their outdoor coats on. However staff were very friendly and accommodating in locating us at a different table and dividing the two dishes we ordered into separate bowls. The food was very well-prepared, which is true of other True Food restaurants we have frequrnted
Our dinner at True Foods Kitchen was very good. We both had seasonal specials which we enjoyed. Brooke provided good and attentive service. We will definitely be back!
Always changing up the in season ingredients Love it
Delicious lunch on the patio. Seasonal menu with the freshnestl ingredients. Lots of choices and able to customize with added proteins. Friendly and prompt service.
Very high quality and food and healthy preparation. Love the fact there is no bread offered with the meal. All choices are very healthy and scrumptious!
I really enjoyed eating outside on this warm evening. Plus the noise level is less outside. The food was good as usual. The flat bread appetizer was a little overcooked, so it was a little difficult to cut and eat, but it tasted great nonetheless. Overall a another great experience eating a True Food Kitchen!!
The service was very slow tonight. Waited an hour for our food.
Great variety on menu
They were very busy and we had a speaker program to attend. The wait staff was able to get our delicious meal to us in plenty of time to enjoy it and get to our program in time.
We eat at True Foods a few times a month, and we are generally satisfied (which is why we return). Our most recent visit was disappointing. The food was fine, but we had a reservation at 6:30. We checked in at the hostess stand minutes before our appointed time, and we were told that a few tables needed to be cleared and then we would be seated. After a 15 minute wait, I inquired about our table, and was told that there were several parties ahead of us (a substantially different response than the initial "we need to clear a few tables"). What particularly irked me was parties were checking in long after we arrived and were being seated. My husband speculated that they had earlier reservations; however, if that were true, they were late for their reservations and we had checked in long before. To add insult to injury, when we were finally shown to a table, we were seated at a tiny little high top bar table that has no place to (e.g., a hook) accommodate a purse. People without reservations were seating themselves at the surrounding bar tables. What's the point of making a reservation if the reservation is not honored and, after waiting a long time, you are shown to a table that apparently is available to anyone who walks in off the street.
Excellent food all around. Service excellent. However, despite eating outside the restaurant was very noisy
Nothing bad to say about this restaurant as far as the food and service the day I went. Very disappointed as I forgot my reading glasses that my dad, who passed, gave to me. Called a couple of hours after leaving the restaurant and they told me indeed they had them there. I live far from Pasadena so asked if they could mail and they said no. I asked for them to please hold them until I could go back to Pasadena to retrieve them. I went days later and now they’re gone. The manager said he would talk to another manager and call me back. Two days later nobody has called and nobody will. I called again and again manager was too busy to speak to me. Again I left my name and number but I know I won’t receive a call. I would expected much more from a place like this. Heartbreaking to have lost something dear to me and know that it was there and was just either stolen by someone or thrown away or given away.
This is a real neighborhood gem. The vibe is lively and happy. The service is great. The restaurant is consistently good.
My son and I had a very enjoyable lunch last Saturday at True Food. We both appreciate the healthy menu selections. At one point I asked if they could provide us with an umbrella as the sun had moved right on my back. Within moments a gentleman was there and added an umbrella to shade our table. It was quite busy, but everyone that worked there were so helpful and attentive.
We’ve eaten here several times and always like it. But tonight the service was way off - one item had to be sent back and the replacement came so late that everyone else was on dessert by the time it came. The manager did make it up to us by discounting the check, but it was frustrating.
Thoroughly enjoyed True Food. The menu has a wide variety of dishes. Food well prepared and presented nicely. Good flavors. Highly recommend!
Loved the flavors! I even got my 9 yr old nephew to eat brussel sprouts and mushrooms! Can't wait to try more items next time. Service was quick and staff were friendly. Having valet service was convenient also. Friendly attendant.
