The menu focuses on northern Italian specialties such as the steak Florentine, double veal chop, seafood specialties of the Mediterranean, and unforgettable desserts.
burrata filled ravioli, genovese basil pesto
Seared Diver Scallops
rainbow swiss chard, sweet yellow corn
guanciale bacon, pecorino cheese, egg
One of our favorite NYC restaurants- never disappoints
The meal was great, as usual. We love coming here when we are in the city
We celebrated a friend's birthday before heading to the theater. It was a Sunday and we had 12:00 reservations. The menu was extensive which included brunch and lunch items, as well as unlimited mimosas!
The bread basket included sweet focaccia and some kind of crusty bread. We started with 3 delicious items from the antipasto bar; Brussel sprouts, cauliflower Milanese and farro salad. Each was delicious and packed with flavor. Two of us had eggs Benedict and I had the artichoke frittata. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding! Each server was personable, cheery, engaging and respectful!! The servers surprised us with a large wedge of light and delicate lemon layer cake adorned with a sparkler, singing Happy Birthday!
Good food, good service, good atmosphere and a good time.
A wonderful, quaint and friendly Italian restaurant for dinner! Exceptional service all around and tantalizing and delicious meals.
Loved the is so buck with risotto and spaghetti cacio e Pepe! We’ll be back!
Always very nice and delicious ...
We had 6PM reservation since we had a 8PM Theater tixs. Seated immediately - as soon as took our drink order - waitress wanted to take our order. Put her off twice but finally ordered - our dinner came out in less than 5 minutes. Only had a sip of our drinks. We were finished dinner @ 6:30!!!! Felt like we were @ a diner instead of a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. While I always appreciate staff being conscious of theater goers time frame - this was ridiculous. Can't believe I am complaining about being served -
"too quickly"! Food was delicious and we enjoyed the lively ambiance but felt rushed.
Definitely was not a "dining experience". We enjoy all the Fireman's Hospitality restaurants but unfortunately Friday not was not enjoyable.
Great wait staff
Because we had a large party we were in the wine room and it was awesome - cut down on some of the noise. Service was fabulous and food excellent. will definitely go there again as frequently as I can.
Great place for dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall. Friendly staff and quick service.
Great management team and service staff and the food is always good
Excellent food. Good service.
The food is literally fantastic, as is the ambiance, staff and dont think theirs a more personal/professional waiter than Joe D'Onofrio. Best veal parmigiana in NYC.
The selection of antipasti was wonderful as usual. I also had Red Snapper which was perfect.
OK, nights when there is something BIG at Carnegie Hall, the crowd in the Trattoria is out of control. Lines long, waits significant but they try to move things along. Noise level is amazing...it all feels too harried, almost harassing. I’m an eggplant LOVER of the first order and the caponata is spectacular but don’t waste your time on the eggplant parmigiana as its all breaded and bland, little eggplant taste and quite disappointing. Husband’s salmon was spectacular. And my baby artichokes were GREAT. But it wasn’t an over all great experience this time.
Excellent service, great menu, food was outstanding. Not rushed, but in and out in plenty of time for 8 o’clock show at Carnegie Hall. Highly recommend.
Upstairs is nice and quiet. Great seafood pasta - and we were able to get it with whole wheat pasta!!! Wonderful waiter - Paolo.
We dined at Trattoria Dell’Arte before an 8 pm concert across the street at Carnegie Hall. We were seated before 6, ordered three courses, and dinner was served and cleared in less than an hour. Busboys hovered over us trying to grab dishes and asking impatiently if we were finished while our forks were in midair. We were presented with the check well before 7. Given that this was a full price menu and we had over an hour to kill before the concert, we felt rushed at best. Also, although appetizers were very good, my veal was chewy and over salted. My husband’s tuna was oddly coated with a large amount of smoked paprika—not a great combination. All in all, not what we were hoping for.
Throughly enjoyed our dinner. Service was quick and efficient. So convenient to Carnegie Hall.
Post concert at Carnegie with OSNY choristers
The food was delicious and the service was superb. The menu was a little pricey. Perfect for a special night out.
Trattoria was wonderful as always. I took my wife and daughter after a matinee and they could not have been happier with the food and service. We were upstairs which is a little quieter and less dramatic than the downstairs space but it was fine. The waiters were tremendously attentive and extremely considerate about my daughter's nut-allergy. The veal parmigiana--one of the specialities of the house was delicious and a must have dish for those with big appetites. The bucatini with short rib meatballs was even better than expected.
Would highly recommend this place regardless of whether one is going to or coming from the theatre.
We really enjoyed this experience. The pizza was excellent with a very thin crust and our veal parmigiana was excellent as well. Our server was outstanding and took great care of us for the evening. Loved the lemoncello and the Prosecco to cap off the night. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
"Try the Veal Best in the City " this is an outstanding italian food experience the appetizers are outstanding and the main meal exceptional everytime 32 years in NYC for a reason ! A very nice dining experience indeed !
Staff was very kind in correcting an error as my partner's food had some plastic in it. Good service and rolling with the punches and managerial attention
This is one of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten at. From the moment we entered the restaurant, everyone was exceedingly attentive, professional and courteous. The food was amazing. I had the veal parm, and it was the best that I have ever had. The cannoli for dessert was amazing. I would definitely go to Trattoria Dell' Arte again, and I would absolutely recommend them to my friends and family.
I've read reviews that claim that Trattoria Dell'Arte is fabulous, and other reviews that label it as awful. From my point of view, neither of these is true. Trattoria Dell'Arte is a solid cornerstone of the Carnegie Hall midtown area, offering enough to make the typical Manhattan prices worth paying.
We arrived about 1/2 hour before our reservation, but were immediately shown to our table, which was a semi-private side-by-side table in a recessed nook of an otherwise busy dining room. The Maitre d' was gracious, as was our helpful server. My first pleasant surprise was the availability of some superior wines by the glass - although the prices reflected the high quality of the wines. We chose a full-bodied but smooth Vino Nobile, usually only available by purchasing an expensive bottle.
We shared an amply large Caesar Salad as an appetizer. The lettuce was fresh, the dressing authentic, and it was topped by a luscious crisp of fried Parmesan cheese.
My wife chose Veal Piccata as a main course, which was lackluster at best. The piccata sauce was average, but the veal had little taste and lacked tenderness and the proper consistency.
Fortunately, I ordered one of the super-thin crust pizzas on the menu, which was plenty for me, with a few pieces left over for my wife to enjoy. I had the "Lots of Pepperoni" pizza, which lived up to its name, and was topped by a subtle drizzle of spicy honey, which set it apart from any other pizza I've had. The menu describes their pizza as "the best pizza in town," a difficult title to live up to, but it sure comes close. With the crisp thin crust, a hungry diner could finish it solo, but it's also enough for two average eaters to share. We chose their unique Tartufo for dessert, different from what is available at almost any other Italian restaurant. Rich chocolate and smooth vanilla ice cream is topped with crumbles of wonderful dark chocolate. Again, enough to share.
With judicious menu choices, you can have a great meal here!
It was a busy Saturday with an event at Carnegie Hall which we attended. People were rushing into the restaurant. We were standing on reservation line waiting our turn. We were next-host approached and woman behind us gave her name. He sat her before us. All around were astounded. Joke on her because we got a booth and she was at a small table.
They brought me the wrong dish/bit quickly rectified it. The good was good, waiter was very nice and apologetic.
I think if there was more time before or during an event I would look for somewhere else.
We love eating at Trattoria Dell’Arte. It’s absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in New York City.
From Jeff at the front desk to the back waiters, the service was excellent!
And the food never disappoints, delicious!
Everything was great. Warm greetings from everyone, great service and delicious food. The fried artichokes were delicious as was the supreme pizza. We took our time and enjoyed the lemon tart cake and coffee. If there was any room in our stomachs we could have kept ordering more fun food
Big love for this restaurant. Always consistent.
Attentive wait staff and friendly management. I always feel welcome here!
The food was delicious, well prepared and articulated on the dish. The desert was exquisite, Lemoncello Pie.
Our waiter fabulous.
All the wonderful little freebies
Warm rolls cookies
We’ll be back
Staff so nice and it’s a happy place.
Food is delicious
The food was fabulous. Our waiter was wonderful. We lingered for almost 4 hours and were rewarded with complimentary champagne! A gem!
Staff & management very friendly and accommodating.
We were dining there before attending a concert at Carnegie Hall. The service was outstanding, food & wine were delicious. Highly recommend.
