I'm not able to provide a rating on the food or service of the restaurant as having arrived at the venue, we were told that the kitchen had already been closed for 30 minutes. Not great when you've been on the road for 2 hours from London and are looking forward to a nice meal.
I've given one extra star for the service from the maître d' who was apologetic and was able to direct us to another restaurant at the end of the pier for food.
Wonderful Sunday lunch! Surpassed our expectations.. every element beautifully cooked and presented.. the cauliflower cheese was an added bonus. Chicken and beef both tender and delicious. The dining room is really beautiful and well aired - we would definitely return. Excellent value for money.
We went there for Breakfast with friends and we all really enjoyed the food and the quality of ingredients. One of the best breakfasts in the area if not the best
Food excellent and service very good. Would go back again and again if I lived nearer.
We loved our lunch visit to Townley’s. We arrived at 2:30pm so missed the busy lunch time service but there were still a few tables full and it had a relaxed atmosphere to it. Food is delicious and v well priced. We had a wonderful French waiter whose name I didn’t get but he was so attentive and friendly. Overall, just very relaxed and a great atmosphere. I’d definitely go back!
Class perfect top quality food first class service fantastic venue view from bay window in lounge area brilliant
An excellent choice of venue with well cooked and presented food in elegant but un-stuffy surroundings.
Very attentive staff, good value with a really atmospheric bar/dining area.
Tables well laid out in line with covid protocols unlike some places.Really nice lunch and experiance
A lovely breakfast - we both enjoyed our mushrooms, eggs and spinach on sourdough
We particularly enjoyed our shared seafood platter starter. The smoked mackerel pate was outstanding. the waiter was very knowledgeable about wine
Friendly, welcoming staff. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive without being intrusive. We were aware that only a Brunch Menu was available - I presume that providing a Lunch Menu as well would just not be cost effective in these difficult times for the hospitality industry. This was not a problem for us and there was plenty of choice.
The food was good, but not a lot of thought went into the presentation. However, if that's all we have to adversely comment on I can only say 'Thank you' for a really pleasant experience.
The food was nice and service friendly but we didn’t realise that a lunch menu wasn’t available for bank holiday Monday so we had to pick off a brunch menu which was ok for breakfast but not for the nice lunch that we had envisaged.
We booked for lunch, no not available only brunch it was Bank Holiday Monday why why lunch only available at the weekend so we left
Great atmosphere, service and food. Table by the window looks out to the sea.
Overal the experience was good. However, we booked after looking at your website which still shows you do a roast dinner on a Sunday. But when we arrived you said you weren’t serving them until next month. So you can imagine at this time it’s not easy to find somewhere else.
You should update your website as it Also comes up with reviews that you do a roast.
Felt the sea bass potion was on the small side
Four pieces of ravioli served as main as vegetarian option
No cheese plate
so all in all, slightly disappointed
Great value with the eat out to help out hut would definitely return for another breakfast treat! Empty plates all round, helpful staff and calm relaxed surroundings.
Reduced brunch menu , wasn’t indicated on the website , would’ve liked the pancakes , place seemed a little shabby compared to the last time I visited .
Lovely atmosphere, observing safety and social distancing, friendly staff, great food and wine. What’s not to like? Definitely recommend Townley’s as a great dining option, just a few steps from the busy Ramsgate Harbour area.
Booked to take my 3 daughters for lunch to celebrate my other halfs 40th Birthday.
The Lunch menu looked great.
Arrived and was welcomed in and had a choice of seating.
Good bit over!!!
Tables were sticky and not clean for us - pretty bad in current covid times.
Told no lunch menu available, just brunch, this looked nice but limited when you had already had a full cooked birthday breakfast.
Ordered pancakes for children as always a winner, we ordered coffee and cake to be told they had no cake available....
I explained that things weren't going well for the special 40th birthday lunch and all I got was a blank expression.
When the drinks arrived; one of the children's glass came with someone else's slobber and what looked like mango on it - again not great in the current covid times.
Went to pay, re-iterated that it wasn't the best experience for the special occasion..... We were still charged and received no apology whatsoever!!!
Absolutely outrageous when we are trying to support local communities and businesses in these extraordinary times.
Hi, I wasn't expecting such a short menu.
The waiter took 3 times to bring the correct wine.
However, later the manager was more efficient.
Food was OK
I understand that these times are hard, but service needs to be improved.
The physical space is nicely done but the service and good quality really let’s the place down. We went for my wife’s birthday and were really disappointed - we definitely won’t go back
Excellent food, service and great to be able to take our Jack Russell with us
Lovely environment, view of the sea, great service and great food, thank you.
An absolutely delicious mussel starter pot, followed by fresh fish and steak mains, our meal delivered on the flavour and looks department. Townley's has a cool and sophisticated interior, staff were attentive, and it was a nice evening.
Great food, good service, excellent social distancing which felt very safe.
Very nice . Really enjoyed the food and the service very good.
Had a disappointing steak, overcooked, chips brown and greasy. Not much In the choice of menu, which all seemed a bit 1970’s. However, breakfast the following morning was fine.
Visited for brunch as we know the quality and setting is always good. Sensible measures taken re: covid- plenty of space between tables, temperatures on entry and hand sanitizer. Would definitely come back
Last dinner of our staycation and we weren't left disappointed. Amazing interior and ambience, super friendly service and food was simply outstanding. Really excellent and we felt very safe and cared for, all the preventative measures were in place. I'd love to go back.
Very sad- booked for lunch, never informed it was only a brunch menu on offer- just two other tables. Much better vibe, service and choice down at the harbour.
Brunch with friends, good quality food will return again 👍🏽
Had a wonderful dinner here. Also, two wonderful breakfasts.
Fantastic meal on Saturday
Covid 19 compliant
Very good fresh quality produce used
Had the fish sharing platter and sea bass , cannot fault it
Superb, can't wait to go back
Also had breakfast which was just as good
Reasonable prices to
Have been going to Townleys since it opened. Decided to have a brunch there with a friend following lockdown as it has open doors and the tables are spaced.
Food as always good quality and tasty!
Roast beef was top as was the ham hock terrine. Lovely apple crumble
First time to Townleys a very enjoyable evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will go again
Valentines evening with the GF! Been here a few times for Sunday lunch which has been outstanding, so booked for me and the wife to be and a great choice, menu, food and evening was amazing.
Staff great, little change to our order and they obliged, thank you for a great evening.
A fantastic meal, excellent service from friendly staff and good value for money and dog friendly!
Wonderful evening at Townley’s- delicious cocktails in the lounge followed by dinner in the restaurant. Couldn’t fault the food, ambience or service- all exceptional. Highly recommend for that special occasion!
