Toscana Ristorante - Eastchester
Toscana Ristorante aims to celebrate the classic dishes and cultural heritage of Italian food. Head Chef Michele Lepore works to create dishes that respect what made this cuisine timeless in the first place. The interior of the restaurant is extremely pleasant and welcoming, with reprints of classic Italian art, such as the Mona Lisa, mounted on the walls.
Of course, pasta plays a huge roll in Toscana's menu. One of the most popular dishes is the penne carrettiera with braised sausage, white mushrooms and prosciutto in a pink vodka sauce. In addition, there are several delicious steak and seafood options. From the sea, guests should try the branzino sautéed with fresh tomato, lemon peel and green olives. On the steak side, nothing beats a classic filet mignon.
My husband and I came here for a date night. My husband is easygoing and will eat what’s put in front of him but he commented that his veal was soooo good and the tiramisu was the best he has ever eaten. We will definitely be back!
One of our favorite restaurants. We especially enjoy the wine pairing events.
Truly excellent meal and attentive service. Willing to make any accommodations. We’ll definitely be back!
A perfect Friday night dinner — great music too Eggplant parmigiana delicious — the best bread - service was 5 star - can’t wait to return
Lovely Saturday luncheon. With few tables occupied, it was quiet and service/ good were all very good. Expect it would be nosier when busy
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Very welcoming and accommodating. The price was as per stated on open table. Overall great experience.
Toscana Ristorante has been our go to restaurant for many years never disappointing.
Had a lovely time. Food was delicious, great service.. everything!
Authentic cuisine perfectly prepared, and a genuinely friendly and welcoming staff.
We had a great dinner at Toscana Ristorante. From the drinks to the service to the food, everything was very good. I'd absolutely go again and recommend to anyone.
Excellent food and service on a New Year’s Day. Great menu and great service.
Fantastic. If you want to be transported to Italy for some authentic cuisine, go to Toscana.
Toscana Ristorante is one of our favorite restaurants. The ambiance for the Christmas Season was fantastic. The food was great. We really enjoyed ourselves as we always do at this restaurant.
Although the food was quite good and the decor lovely, Toscana's service is very poor and very un- professional. We had to beg for bread--and then were given a basket with one slice for each of us and no butter or olive oil (when we finally got them to bring the 2 pats of butter, they were frozen.) At no point was my water glass ever refilled, until the bill came at the end and I could catch someone's attention. And that bill--we were given the wrong one (alcohol and beverages that we had not had were on it) twice! The waiter had to ask us to reprise exactly what we had in order to give us the correct bill on the third try. There's no excuse for such shoddy inept service at a restaurant which clearly had adequate waitstaff and wasn't full.
Nice atmosphere; excellent pastas. Perfectly cooked pork.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Toscana. We each ordered a Salad/Appetizer. Delicious and fresh, and a nice size. Two of us ordered the Zucchini Noodles with Shrimp. This dish was light and delicious and a meal I will go back for! The third person in our party enjoyed her Chicken dish, as well. Great service! (Shout out to Sergio, our waiter. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu!). Also, great drinks at the bar, pre-dinner, served by Rafael. We’ll be back. All around excellent!
Fantastic and accommodating waiter and the food was extraordinarily good. We will be back.
I was quite pleased with the food quality. This was not an average Italian Restaraunt but an authentic and high quality establishment that I will recommend to others.
Brought a friend
Waited an inordinate amount of time for our food and my husbands entree came out burned but cold. Water glasses remained empty until refills were requested. Waited a long time again to be offered dessert or check. Seated near kitchen door and observed several crashes with the swinging door being used to enter and exit fixing area and kitchen simultaneously.
Will not return
We were a party of nine people and the table setting by the window was absolutely beautiful. The ambience was very nice and the food was absolutely amazingly delicious. The sole was so moist and plump. And the rest of the group enjoyed their meal as well. The owner/host was very attentive and kind and cheerful. We were there for a luncheon and it seemed a few of the servers were inexperienced, but they tried really hard to please. When I corrected them on a few things or asked for more ice or something they got it right away. I’m sure they will learn to notice what’s missing on the table, etc.
Overall it’s fabulous restaurant and I recommend it highly.
Food was good. Expensive for what you get. Waiters were attentive, but not many patrons in restaurant.
Always a great experience at Toscana! Food is consistent and great and the service is outstanding.
Attentive staff, wonderful homemade pasta and patio dining. We love coming back to Toscana whenever we are in town!
All was lovely.
Not sure what happened here, it’s usually lovely but Saturday was just a disaster.
Waited almost 40 minutes for appetisers (which were cold) and when they can out they’d gone one of the orders wrong. It was quickly remedied, but again when mains arrived, only 2 out of 3 were there and we had to keep asking for it.
Staff were running around, unaware of what was going on. Eventually we decided to leave and didn’t even get dessert.
The whole branzini was wonderful, but the service was achingly slow. Forever to put in our drink order (they came out wrong), to get our salads, then to get our mains. The restaurant was half empty. Nothing takes this long.
great service, but ask if air conditioning is working before you are seated
Thanks for a great meal as always! We will be back soon!
We come here about once a year. I suspect you have to be a regular to receive good service. For a neighborhood place that happens to have outdoor seating, I don't feel their prices are reasonable. I ordered the lamb loin special at $38. No prices listed for the specials, naturally. I knew I was in for at least $35. My first loin, which I asked to be cooked rare, was prepared correctly. The second too were over-cooked. I sent them back, but the two that returned were uncooked. I opted to take them home with me to cook later. I think they should have offered a free drink or something. Sure, it was not the waiter's fault and he was tipped fairly. Still, service was way off. I don't think I will return again, which is a shame since it is so close to our home. Of note, my appetizer, octopus, was good.
We have enjoyed going to Toscana on few occasions. We absolutely love the outdoor space and that is why we have tried to go there. That being said, their service has been very poor lately. VERY slow & non responsive waiters and management.
They also changed an appetizer that they used to make. I checked the website prior to making a reservation & the item was still the website menu. When we got there, the appetizer was not the same.
A very disappointing experience overall. We will not be going back.
Our go to restaurant. Unfortunately this time the service was terrible. Only two waiters for a full restaurant. More than one hour span between salad and main course. We'll go back and hope that our most recent visit was the exception to a fine restaurant.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend Toscano for delicious Italian food.
The food was excellent for our entire party. No rush service and very attentive. Only issue is that they had a party going on so it was a bit loud. But folks were enjoying themselves. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend it.
The initial service was quite good but when we ordered desert with Cappuccino the coffee never came.
We were surprised there was a private 40th birthday party in the main dining room starting at 8:30pm. Weird.
The food was excellent. We will go back again.
The bartender had no idea how to make a martini and was so rude. I was excited to try this restaurant, but will probably never be back. Disappointed to say the least. I had the Beef Short-Rib Raviolis- they are 100x better at Rosie’s Bistro in Bronxville.
We had a lovely dinner at Toscana. The food was very nicely done, well presented and portions spot on. The waiter offered a wonderful suggestion for an entree that my son ended up loving. The wait staff was attentive yet respectful. We will return!
Always excellent food and service a gem. It been our go to place for years and we are never dosappointed.
Great atmosphere, food and staff.
