   We recommend Tokyo Bird for an authentic Japanese experience. Good wine, excellent cocktails, a large range of Japanese whiskies, or Japanese draught beer from the tap. We choose a variety of finger food to share, always fresh & delicious. Yoshi is an outstanding host. Ian, Megan & Ben.

   My sisters and I has such a good time. The staff was so friendly very great vibe. Food and drinks were delish. I’ll definitely be bringing my friends here soon. :)

   Tokyo Bird blew me away. The food was phenomenal—every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. The service? Impeccable. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. What really surprised me was how affordable it all was. For the quality of both food and experience, it felt like a steal. And the whiskey selection? Absolutely next-level. If you’re a fan, this place is a dream come true. Whether you’re going for a casual night out or something a little special, Tokyo Bird nails it on every front. Can’t wait to go back.

   Great bar tucked in a side street of Surry Hills. Wonderful service, delicious food and creative cocktails. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

   Had an amazing time last night! My friend and I arrived around 7pm to a bustling space of dim lights, gorgeous smells and Studio Ghibli playing on a small sidewall. We ordered the blended Japanese whiskies flight. I usually am not big into whiskey (my friend is the connoisseur) but I actually liked these! In fact the Hibiki Japanese Harmony was so good I plan to buy a bottle. Food wise we had 3 vege skewers (eggplant, mushroom, agadashi tofu), the charred broccolini and corn ribs. Favourites were the mushrooms and broccolini but overall everything was great. Big thank you to Tokyo Bird for a great night and we’ll definitely be back again.

    Fantastic atmosphere and service but food was disappointing. Some Yakitori were served cold, unseasoned, and/or seasoned with weird ‘ta-re’. If you are expecting authentic Japanese food, maybe not the right venue.
