The food at Toca Madera has completely changed. A few years back, their tacos, enchiladas and churro ice cream dessert was amazing. It seems as if the menu has changed as well as the presentation, it’s not as tasty as before.
My experience was outdoor basically on the sidewalk . I didn’t like the seating arrangements outside. Overall the experience, service , quality, and everything about this place was good. I was able to enter the restaurant but not sit and I looked around and it was so nice. I wish I could’ve experienced the indoor ambiance with dining.
Toca is always a GREAT Idea! I would recommend it for any time of the day.
The best happy hours in Los Ángeles
The food the service the atmosphere everything is good
This place has a great ambience. As far as food goes it’s okay. Don’t let my okay discourage you to try it. As we all have different taste buds. I believed food was a bit bland and wasn’t worth the price. Great place I’d say to have an appetizer and a drink. They nailed the ambience aspect. If it’s your bday they don’t the restaurant doesn’t offer anything special.
Great, but what’s with “health tax”
Service was good but ordered a tomahawk it was kinda burnt and took forever to come other then that it was good
We go to Toca Madera pretty regularly. This night the service was pretty slow for some reason. Got all of or appetizers and most of our food before our first drinks even came out.
First time dining here. Was visiting from Atlanta. Waitress recommended trying one of the “Hot Rock” dishes, as that’s what they’re known for. I had the carne asada. It was served with grilled peppers and onions and flour tortillas. 3 different salts were provided for the meat and 3 different sauces. The flavor of the meat, and the rice and beans were all outstanding. The passion fruit margarita was also a shining star. Strong and not overly sweet. Will definitely dine here again!
It was fire 🔥🔥🔥
amazing drinks, food, and vibe. outdoor heaters were great
Great service and delicious food and drinks!
Amaaaaaaaazing! Def going back ASAP
Love the vibe and food! This was my 5th visit in last few months.
Need real heat lamps if ur going to sit ppl outside in the freezing cold . Also need a covering of some sort with all the wind all kinds of dirt and debri got In our drinks and food . Food was cold by within 5 min.
Excellent food and very attentive waitstaff.
Wow! Excellent food and ambiance.
It was cool!
Seated by the bus stop
Covid times. You sit on sidewalk with people walking by. Needless to say, zero ambiance. But this one is even less desirable Then rhe covid parking lot arrangement. People walking throughout the tables constantly because od curb traffic. Wait till they repopen.
Our server was absolutely great! I wish I would have gotten her name to give her a specific review. She was brunette with an Australia (?) accent.
This place did not disappoint, the food was great, and service staff was amazing.
Birthday dinner the wait to sit down took about 20-30 minutes even though we had a reservation. The food is great downside is it came out prior to our drink. I love the Chile relleno but it was missing the Pomegranate.
Yummy!! Love this here
Date with Hubby on Halloween! 🎃👻💀😈 We’ll be going back! 👍🏻
Food and cocktails were amazing and unique. Service was fine and was limited (as was the ambience) by COVID. Can’t wait to go back in normal times,
I made reservation about 3 weeks ago, and yesterday we drove up from San Diego to celebrate my birthday at Toca Madera. I was unaware our reservation would be for a table on the sidewalk. We asked if there was anything inside, they said that area is called the "secret garden" and there was no availability unfortunately. Since we drove from so far away, we decided to order drinks while looking at the food menu. The waitress then proceeds to inform us that there is a 90-minute time limit per table. So basically we have to down our drinks and chow down our food so we can give up our sidewalk table to someone else in 90 minutes. I understand that businesses are trying to stay afloat during this pandemic but we really didn't expect this kind of an experience at Toca Madera. I don't think we will be returning to Toca Madera in the future.
Great food, great drinks, great service, great place to catch up with a friend or a casual date.
I like that the music level is quieter during COVID, it's easier to hear people at your table talk, when before the music was wayy too loud. Love this place!! wagyu is to dieeee for
Second date
Excellence service and environment
We had a reservation for 9:30 and didn’t sit down until 10:20, the host and security were rude. The waitress barley came to check in us and forgot thinks on my order twice. We asked another waitress to help us
We have a lovely dining experience here!
Outstanding customer service
Reservation was not i the patio area, was outside. But everything was good
Best drinks and ever better food. Two tacos for $15, totally worth a try once or twice. The cocktails were delicious.
Food was so overrated. They gave our reservation to someone else on accident and then had to scramble to get us seated. Just really was under-whelming for the all the hype this place gets.
Fun bar menu, great staff
We waited over 20 mins to be seated for our reservation! They did not accommodate our anniversary will not be returning for dine in take out only.
