Not what we expected. The mix of ingredients did not work. My roasted chicken was only ok. The chicken pillared was tough.

We dined on a Tuesday and had the three course tasting menu. The food was delicious and the portions were very large. We will definitely come back again

This restaurant used to be the old Melting Pot which was a fondue making restaurant. The new owners of Toba did very little renovations and aside from removing the heating elements from underneath the tables they left the same table tops with the cooking element in the center which has no relation to what Toba is. The menu is limited but has potential. We ordered three appetizers and an entree. We got bread to the table which I think is safe to say was the best thing we had all night. We ordered the salmon tartar. It was plated nicely and came with three long and narrow crackers that made it difficult to scoop and place on top. You had to take a bite of the tartar separately and then take a bite from the cracker. The dish, although looking good was under seasoned (no salt, no lemon). We also ordered the chicken samosas which was the best dish out of everything we ordered. The samosas were made with phyllo dough stuffed with a chicken mixture that reminded me of Tex Mex Egg rolls. There was a shmear on the plate which was good and a slaw which was ok. We also ordered the pea agnolotti. Although the flavor inside the ravioli was good but under seasoned the ravioli itself was undercooked and not even al dente. The sauce was nice and the food was plated nicely but again it was underwhelming because everything was under seasoned if at all. For our main dish we ordered the short rib which came on top of a coconut lime risotto and green beans. The green beans were not cooked at all. Some had a pale color and you could tell they were raw. The short rib was great and the risotto again was not seasoned at all. Lime was nowhere to be found. To summarize, this place has potential but any dish that comes out needs to be tasted and well seasoned otherwise it doesn’t help that it looks good if it doesn’t taste great.

Interesting menu with varied choice of foods from different countries. The bar area is great for 2 or 4 people. Friendly and attentive service.

Food was very good and service even better. However the decor needs help. They took over melting pot space and didn’t invest to make space their own. Space is dark and feels dated. Also they should make effort to highlight outdoor eating area where they could offer an alternative to the dark ambience inside

the food here is quite good. Only 1 entree (out of 4) could have been a bit better, but all appetizers were delicious, entrees great and desserts exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Sadly, the attempt at creating an upscale restaurant in the former Melting Pot space comes up a bit short. Really does not have a character of its own. Service was very attentive. Food was good but not outstanding. Sauces could use some work, my steak demi-glaze was overly salty. The shoyu booth on our salmon had a briny flavor. The filet was cooked nicely as was the salmon. Prices were ok if the food had reached the level they are shooting for. Maybe it was an off night ?🤷‍♂️

This restaurant was recommended from a friend who lives near Westwood. They half hour ride was well worth it. We had an amazing dinner from beginning to end. Drinks were perfect appetizers were outstanding but the meal was a 10 out of 10. It was a pleasure to actually meet the owner, Roman and the chef. This is a hidden gem. I’m sure it’s going to takeoff as a bit open too long. I would recommend it to anybody if you want a great meal little tricky though the entrance is around back just so you know.

Toba was great overall! I went with my boyfriend and my parents for dinner. Drinks and appetizers(octopus , shrimp spring rolls, and meatballs) were really good. The chicken and braised short rib was good according to my parents. The spinach gratin was not good according to my boyfriend. The truffle short rib ravioli could be more moist inside of the ravioli.
