Salad was crisp and delicious - just the right amount of dressing. My husband had the scallops, I had the chef's special Chilean sea bass. Both of us were almost crying it was so delicious and well prepared. We send our appreciation to the chef, which we rarely do. The room was quiet and pretty. We just wanted a glass of wine each rather than a bottle, and we were happy with the generous pours. Highly recommend.
Interesting menu that made choosing complicated but the three dishes we shared were delicious. The oddest sounded dish - a ‘ceviche’ of sweet potato and melon - was a clever combination, a bit spicy (which we liked), and well balanced.
Outstanding experience. Service and food were awesome. John are server was on point all night. Excellent visit
Perfection in dining experience. The New Zealand Saivignon Blanc was fruity but sufficiently dry. The pork tenderloin entree, what many always mention, was delicious and completed by whipped potatoes light gravy, and asparagus. And we knew to save room for dessert: coffee with key lime pie for me and coffee and a decadent chocolate, fresh fruit and raspberry compote for my friend. It is a lovely setting upstairs with a whole wall of windows overlooking Market Street. Downstairs is also well appointed with art and inviting ambiance. We were happy to pay a little more for fine dining and for supporting a local owner doing everything he can to follow health regulations (going up one staircase and coming down another, for example) and trying to survive as a small business employer. Honestly, without being asked or invited, I wrote just such a positive review on YELP.
Spacing was good. Flowers and candle on the table was nice. The fresh baked bread was out of this world. The veal piccata was very tasty and presented in a little different manner. A nice unoaked French chardonnay was on the menu that we really enjoyed.
Three Birds Restaurant in Corning during the time of COVID-19 probably doesn't look as it did pre-pandemic, but the restaurant's menu, service, and ambiance maintain a very high standard. During a recent Sunday evening dinner, we enjoyed their fish soup and Caesar salad as appetizers, and the rack of lamb, fish tacos, shrimp jambalaya, and scallops as main courses. Their desserts--key lime pie, creme brulee, and tiramisu--were scrumptious.
Service is very friendly and attentive. All food arrived simultaneously for five diners, and the servers could not have been friendlier or helpful. We would definitely return to this restaurant, and look forward to their seasonally selected specials.
My friend and I had a very nice dinner. We were seated by the window with a view of Market Street. We had a very friendly efficient waitress. The food was very good and the restaurant was quiet enough for us to carry on a conversation. Three Birds is our special To Go place.
The server was lovely and the service was great. I did reserve a table but found the ambiance downstairs to be nicer than upstairs. The food was good however quite salty. Overall we had a nice time. I wasn’t blown away by the food though. The service was excellent I must say. I would recommend the restaurant for the atmosphere and service but not the food .
Good food and just the right amount! Pleasant staff, a little slow but we didn’t have anything else to do so It was fine.
Will definitely return
This was an anniversary dinner. The staff were friendly. Nice environment. Crabcake starter with wilted spinach had good lumps of crabmeat but the remoulade sauce was salty. Cod special was tasty with an intricate sauce. Veal piccata was tender but also had a salt problem. Definitely would go again if we find ourselves in Corning. Menu has a lot of intriguing choices and other than saltiness everything is well prepared.
Well run restaurant with the COVID-19 restrictions in place. Nice wine list but could use more local wine on the list. Had the sea bass special it was excellent! Second time there in 3 days
I had for the first time Sea bass and it was excellent!, I would definitely get it again also my wife had the chicken piccata and was also very pleased , this was my first visit to Three birds but it will not be my last!
Delicious scallops, try them if you like seafood. Excellent service too.
Great food, excellent service prices were reasonable for this restaurant.
Excellent experience. Delicious food. Will be returning.
Great experience, food, atmosphere, service, view from 3rd floor overlooking Market St. Very nice!
Everything was delicious. The pan seared scallops over risotto was especially good. Service was prompt and attentive.
Celebration of three birthdays. The cocktails and meals were outstanding. It’s the first time I ordered dessert I got the chocolate. Superb! Thank you for the desserts for our birthdays.!
We ate up on the third floor overlooking market Street, a newly renovated portion of the restaurant. It was delightful.
Just OK restaurant, not worth the price. Pretty dissent fish soup was served lukewarm, lamb main course was tasteless and intriguing-sounding chocolate pate dessert had all the qualities of chocolate Easter bunny. But baked brie appetizer was outstanding.
This is a wonderful restaurant with great food and a lovely atmosphere. We have been celebrating our anniversary here for many years. If you want a very classy meal this is the place to go in Corning!
They just opened this week, and did a great job with the new protocols.
Cocktails had to be adjusted, but they did it nicely; food is still outstanding!
Such a treat to eat out and be served in a fine restaurant like this.
The staff were all friendly, food was prepared as requested and presentation was excellent. A very enjoyable dining experience.
Our dinner on 8/7/20 was extremely delicious. The chef was able to accommodate our food allergies and make a truly wonderful substitution to the sauces normally used on the scallops. Our whole meal was delightful for our entire party.
Outstanding experience from the time we entered the building. We were seated on the second floor with a view of market Street. The food was excellent and the service was great.
This is the best restaurant in Corning. The food and service are top notch along with a great ambiance and experience. Its a must go if you are in the Corning area!
Scallops were delicious, as well as the fish tacos, and Caesar salad. Service was very good and the bread was delicious!!
Great food best in town
We had a very enjoyable dining experience at Three Birds -- Excellent ambience, atmosphere, very friendly staff, and excellent service. Thank you Three Birds Restaurant for serving us on your first day back in business!
Great food and ambiance. The service was really good, and I enjoyed my dish (scallops wit wild mushrooms).
We enjoyed another great meal at Three Birds just after I had to cancel a student trip abroad due to the impending dangers of COVID19. The consistency of quality food and service was truly comforting. We will definitely be back as soon as everything gets back to normal!
Excellent in all aspects. The bar was full ( Happy Hour?) so the noise level was quite high but diminished as the evening went on. Quite a delightful experience.
I liked the atmosphere when first arriving but as more people came, it became very loud. That’s to be expected but the restaurant set up does little to deaden the noise. The bar is right next to the dining area and there are a good number of people there at dinner time to drink; good for bar business but noisy for those there for an upscale dining experience. Seems easy enough to utilize a better barrier between diners and drinkers to tone down the noise.
The food was good; expected better for the cost, but it was good.
Our server was excellent, very attentive and there was no waiting on her service.
We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and service was great!
Very appealing menu, with a lot of options for dinner. A few mishaps occurred throughout (lengthy wait for a beer, no forks with dessert, etc.) but nothing that spoiled our evening.
Excellent food. Service was great and quick, full restaurant on a Monday without being too full.
Very friendly accomadating staff. Took a little longer than expected for food to come out, but it was worth the wait.
Great food and atmosphere.
Excellent all around. Delicious cocktail and pasta special.
Excellent meal, and service. Nice dining and bar areas. My wife and I enjoyed beef entrees and they were superb. Parking is at a premium along East Market, but additional parking is available off Aurene Lane, located behind restaurant, with a rear entrance. Truly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend.
This is our second time in last 3 months and it was excellent. We love the menu choices, food was amazing from appetizer to dessert. Waitress excellent! We like to sit in corner table in back of restaurant, more private, cozy.
