Three Birds Restaurant Corning
Three Birds is a Chef owned and operated restaurant located in Corning's Gaffer District on historic Market Street. We are just blocks away from the world renowned Corning Museum of Glass and just around the corner from The Rockwell Museum.
Three Birds culinary team begins every day with a plan...gather the freshest ingredients including locally grown organic produce, prime and Kobe beef, and wild caught seafood. All ready to be assembled a la minute.
We a proud to say we have been a part of the Corning community for 14 years! We invite you to discover what the locals already know is the best kept secret in town. We welcome all those with a passion for good food, good wine, and great company!
Great food and ambiance. The service was really good, and I enjoyed my dish (scallops wit wild mushrooms).
We enjoyed another great meal at Three Birds just after I had to cancel a student trip abroad due to the impending dangers of COVID19. The consistency of quality food and service was truly comforting. We will definitely be back as soon as everything gets back to normal!
Excellent in all aspects. The bar was full ( Happy Hour?) so the noise level was quite high but diminished as the evening went on. Quite a delightful experience.
I liked the atmosphere when first arriving but as more people came, it became very loud. That’s to be expected but the restaurant set up does little to deaden the noise. The bar is right next to the dining area and there are a good number of people there at dinner time to drink; good for bar business but noisy for those there for an upscale dining experience. Seems easy enough to utilize a better barrier between diners and drinkers to tone down the noise.
The food was good; expected better for the cost, but it was good.
Our server was excellent, very attentive and there was no waiting on her service.
Very appealing menu, with a lot of options for dinner. A few mishaps occurred throughout (lengthy wait for a beer, no forks with dessert, etc.) but nothing that spoiled our evening.
Excellent food. Service was great and quick, full restaurant on a Monday without being too full.
Very friendly accomadating staff. Took a little longer than expected for food to come out, but it was worth the wait.
Great food and atmosphere.
Excellent all around. Delicious cocktail and pasta special.
Excellent meal, and service. Nice dining and bar areas. My wife and I enjoyed beef entrees and they were superb. Parking is at a premium along East Market, but additional parking is available off Aurene Lane, located behind restaurant, with a rear entrance. Truly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend.
This is our second time in last 3 months and it was excellent. We love the menu choices, food was amazing from appetizer to dessert. Waitress excellent! We like to sit in corner table in back of restaurant, more private, cozy.
This place was fantastic! All of our food was amazing! Between the four of us, we had the vegetarian squash dish, the pecan crusted pork, the rainbow trout, and the salmon. All of them were simply delightful. The wine selection was also quite good which you'd expect being up near the finger lakes and they even had some decent cocktails and a variety of draft and bottled beers. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was peaceful and enjoyable. We certainly would come here again if we are up to the Corning area in the future.
Had a great time at Three Birds for Valentine’s Day! Food was cooked perfectly and the drinks came out fast and well made. Ahi Tuna special was amazing. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion.
Lovely dinner spot in Corning. Unfortunately, we were hit by shockingly cold updraft any time the door opened, being near the window. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, but busy with other tables, so water/wine refills moved slowly. Food was still excellent (beautiful scallops especially), and it was definitely worth walking through the snow to find. :-)
We had the most delightful dinner at Three Birds! We are from out of town and found it online. Our waitress, Faith was so great! The food was delicious and the cocktails delish! I would highly recommend Three Birds! It’s worth it!!!
Excellent food, was disappointed that they changed the menu. The entree I love, ossobuco, was removed. Outside of that it was great.
We live locally, where it's tough to find a really good dining establishment. Luckily we have Three Birds when we wish to "dine" not just eat. Never a wait with our reservation even if we're early. Servers are well-trained and turnover is lower than I'd guess at other establishments. We're never referred to as "guys", nobody will ever ask if "we're still workin' on that?" Even when the restaurant is full, the servers find a way to pay attention to everyone. Last night they had a special offering - osso bucco. Before our server even got the words out of her mouth (only 2 left!), I asked her to hustle back to the kitchen to stake my claim. I wasn't disappointed. Not only a fabulous, mouth watering presentation, but absolutely the best I've ever eaten, and I've ordered this dish in several famous places. The bar staff, although young, know how to mix a classical cocktail like an Old Fashioned or a Vodka Gimlet. The place is lively on a busy night and it can be a bit on the high decibel side, but it's worth it.
Great food, great company, great service-We will be back soon
We were quite disappointed with the food overall. The bread was nondescript and pale, and the bit of butter they served with it was rock-hard. My husband had the crab cake appetizer and it seemed to be more of a cornmeal cake with a little crab meat thrown in. My appetizer, Mediterranean Meatballs, was overcooked, hard, and tepid. My husband had the veal special and had no complaints. I ordered the duck breast with sausage risotto and broccolini. The only hot food on the plate was the risotto, which was very tasty. The broccolini was lukewarm, and the duck seemed to have been cooked via sous vide and had no browning on the outside. The desserts were both fine, fortunately, and helped rescue the meal: a chocolate mousse pie, and tiramisu. In the restaurant's defense, it was the first night with a new menu so perhaps there was a learning curve not yet conquered. However, we will not be going back to find out.
Highly recommended. Very nice overall experience. I know the head chef was off that night. The food was still excellent.
Perfect place for our meeting!
Great service and the food was excellent.
Always Excellent! Enjoyed the Beef Tournedos; would be a nice addition to the permanent menu.
Service always excellent. Lovely evening!
This i a great place for many occasions, from business to date night. The food was great and the service to match.
We had a very nice dinner with a vendor. My reservation was for 4 but we ended up with a 5th person. The staff scrambled to seat all comfortably as the restaurant was full. Nice job by the staff!
Great food. Friendly service!
Excellent! The menu has something for everyone . We took our niece and nephew who live in Manhattan and travel the world. When they visit us we always try to find a foodies heaven and this was a home run. Our waitress was phenomenal and told the chef/owner how much we enjoyed everything and he came out to thank us. We appreciated the time he spent with us. Our food was amazing! We will be back!
Outstanding French American Cuisine. Classy and comfortable dining room with a nice bar area as well. Uniquely paired dishes will not disappoint.
the food wasn't as good as the first time we went. The service however was excellent.
The waitress was in a big rush and made it clear to us that we were taking up a lot of her time. But no one else was there. Also, she was cold and distant and unwelcoming.
The bread was abysmal. Wegmans has better bread.
The risotto was under cooked and crunchy. Not al dente, crunchy.
The drinks were well made.
But, I thought the dinner was so-so at best.
Three Birds has THE best food, bar none, in the area!!! The signature dishes are mouth watering and should be experienced by everyone from near and afar. My only regret is the bar is so close and so very loud. Fortunately, we had a table on the lower level near the fireplace and the noise was muted somewhat but still extremely loud. This should not, however, keep anyone from tasting the amazing cuisine that John creates. I would suggest something be done to limit the noise from the bar if possible.
The food is always excellent.
Visitors should be wary of alcohol markups, though. They had a $19 bottle of wine listed at $54.
Terrific as usual. Out of town guests
From Westchester County NY
As always, dining at Three Birds was a lovely event. Salmon was delicious and my guests cleaned their plates! John was an attentive server. I love your restaurant!
Excellent menu options paired with great execution and a wonderful staff makes for a very nice experience.
The garlic demi sauce is a bit salty but overall was a great pair with the ribeye and whipped potatoes! The light at our table had a loose plug but I fixed it lol! The food was great and the hostess and waitresses were all great as well! No disappointment here at all! Will definitely be back for more!
Food was very good, service was excellent. We will definitely return for our next "celebratory" night out.
Service was very good and friendly. I had Rack of Lamb which was cooked perfectly(rare) with fingerling potatoes and fried onions and asparagus as the green vegetable. The rack had 8 ribs which is rather large but doable and a mild sauce which didn’t detract from the fine lamb flavour 😎. My partner had the chicken breast topped with a fig sauce, with whipped potatoes and asparagus which she really enjoyed. A fine bottle of Zinfandel went perfectly with the meal. We are in the Finger Lakes area a couple of times a year and will add this fine eatery to my list when I’m in Corning.
Perfect Dining experience at this charming Western NY restaurant. The food was on a par with some meals we have enjoyed in the NYC / Northern NJ much more well known restaurants!! Their Diver Scallops Appy On Crustini with s sweetened onion relish was an Amazing dish.
Professional and Personable Service. Value priced wine list! Very fairly priced Quality Dinners (this Quality level would cost twice as much in Manhattan.
The only negative to the entire evening (and beyond the restaurant’s control) is the group of 7 who brought in 3 screaming kids! The Management did swat them at the far end of the room but these folks just ignored the screaming until 3 different other patrons asked them to try and comfort the kids and let the rest of the room also enjoy their evening.
Seated upon arrival; warm, consistent service; perfect oysters, bright, crisp salads, beautifully prepared main fish courses. Wonderful restaurant in a beautiful town.
