Thirty Eight Chairs Restaurant/Bar
The name Thirty Eight Chairs comes from the age of Gino Forlano (owner and director) at the time of opening.
Located at 4a Bond Street, South Yarra.
Thirty Eight Chairs South Yarra doubles up as a bar during the daytime serving lunch.
For lunch, we offer our menu along with classic Italian panini and piadine.
In the evening, Thirty Eight Chairs offers the most intimate yet lively dining experience across both venues, where delicious dishes meet excellent service.
The staff, who are mainly Italian, help to make Thirty Eight Chairs more than just a dining venue, but a destination.
"Our staff try and transmit a little bit of their home to the restaurant. Cooking and serving is like most things in life, you get what you put in, and with little effort, we have created something spectacular. Thirty Eight Chairs; normal people with Italian passports!” - Gino Forlano
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. The restaurant itself has a good feel and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Luca, our waiter, was fantastic and recommended a delicious Italian red wine to go with our meal. The food was incredible, not the usual Italian fare. Definitely recommend it.
Superb experience for NYE and thank you to all the staff for a great night!
The food was tasty but way too heavy. We couldn't sleep well and when we did we had nightmares😞😞
We were not informed that the reassurance was being renovated and in fact we were seated in a makeshift area off the sister, casual lunch venue down the street. Altogether very disappointing, food not the usual standard, ambience poor and service average. Not what Zi have come to expect from 38 Chairs.
On the whole a great experience, I didn't realise they were in the middle of renovations. This ruined the atmosphere, I liked the restaurant the way it was!!
A liittle bit of Italy in South Yarra. Wonderful ambience, excellent food and fantastic service.
