The Wine Kitchen on the Creek is a restaurant where you come for great steak, seafood, and vegetarian dishes featuring all the freshest, seasonal ingredients we can find. We offer a unique dining experience within a comfortable environment and the utmost attention to hospitality and every detail.

Executive Chef Jeff Beard has created a menu that defines the modern chophouse genre. Our wine list of over 50 wines by the glass is curated by our wine director Justin Langley, and is organized in tasting flights that can be either paired with your meal or enjoyed on their own. We also offer an exciting, seasonal cocktail list curated by our world class bar manager, Erin Lamb.

Our general manager, Laura Dubrule, ensures our guiding philosophy of offering truly great food, drink, and hospitality in their purest forms, consistently exceeds our guests expectations.     Food was delicious. Beet salad wasn’t as good as I’ve had in the past from here, but it is always my go to. The oysters had sand and pieces of shells in them and the onions were tough. Meaning sometimes you don’t cut enough off the putter most of the onion and you get true tough skin layer. The duck was on point. The mussels were good, but could have been balanced better with a little more acidity.

    I had a reservation for 12:15 today. I checked in and was asked if I would like I door or outdoor seating. I said outdoor. The hostess pointed to a line outside and said there is a line. I explained I had recently had surgery and couldn’t stand for very long if I could get a table please, she said you will have to get in line. We waited at least 15 minutes to be seated. I had to sit on the brick light post while we waited. Even though I had a reservation. I just thought it was very rude and unaccommodating. We try to visit Wine Kitchen at least once a month supporting local restaurants. Today I was not impressed. Daisy Price

    Exceptional service and food quality. We went for Mother’s Day brunch and despite how busy the place was, the server was very attentive and the food was served warm..made fora very memorable Mother’s Day brunch for the family.

    We visited for Mothers Day and had a fabulous time. We had Fried Green Tomatoes, pear salad and shrimp and grits. Absolutely delicious!

    This was one of my favorite places. Not any more. It seems they are trying too hard. Too many components on a dish that just don’t go together or are completely superfluous. The wine list is just ok, nothing that one would expect from an establishment that had wine in its name.

    We had our first date at the Wine Kitchen two years ago, so it is very special spot for us. We have always had excellent food and the staff is always so friendly and nice. It is a pleasure to go there.

    When we made a Saturday 1 pm reservation we anticipated it may be busy. It was! Our server Marcus nonetheless took very good care of us. The kitchen had a bit of a delay but he kept us informed and happy. Simple kindness goes a long way. Well done. Our food was outstanding. We had a lovely meal and always felt welcome. That's what a great restaurant does. We have visited before, and we will be back - SOON!

    Over priced for portions received. Charged for a "special" appetizer that we did not order/receive. Unfortunately did not notice until I fully reviewed receipt today. Wine pour very weak - barely one quarter of the glass. Food was good but definitely not great.

    We were initially seated in a booth which was very cramped and uncomfortable. However, upon request, we were immediately reseated at a regular table. Everything after that was wonderful - food, wine, service :)

    It had been 4 years since we’d seen our friends. During that time the 4 of us had dealt with retirement, relocation, job loss, new job, cancer, a pandemic, and more. We had so much to catch up on, and the Wine Kitchen was the perfect place! I had the tiny tacos. Highly recommend!! Perfect little bites with the right amount of flavorful crisp! The cocktails were delish. A generous pour with just enough flavor. A marvelous evening and I look forward to going back!

    First time being in since the renovations and was definitely impressed! The filet was absolutely delicious, and the red sangria and wine flight was amazing. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion!

    First rate service. Was offered a complimentary cocktail because of the trouble finding the restaurant. Won’t have trouble the next time, this will be a staple whenever I’m in Frederick. Food was good, pork belly and brussel sprout casserole are a must.

    I was really impressed by the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. I was even more impressed by the excellent service and the concept of wine and liquor flights that they've integrated into their menu. But the food was not good. I got the Denver steak with a twice baked potato... I suffered through an extremely fatty, very chewy meat that didn't have much flavor, and the potato was cooked in a muffin pan (?!?!) vs. just baked as a potato, and the onion/chive flavor was too strong. Given the restaurant's proximity to my office I might come back and try one of their more basic menu items, but the $50 steaks are an absolute pass.

    We ordered the Steak Flight and the Wagyu Flank Steak and both were amazing....service and wine were also very good as usual. You really should try this place out since the remodel....really cool job they did with that!

    We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Wine Kitchen; we had friends visiting from out of town and wanted to show them one of the culinary stars of downtown Frederick. We had a variety of entrees, one each of chicken, steak, duck and vegetarian, and everyone's meal was yummy. It was too cool to be outside, but we were still able to enjoy the view of the creek. A wonderful evening!

    Three of us for a special occasion had luncheon appetizers, entrées, wine and dessert. Appetizers were outstanding. Two of the three entrées were superb. The shrimp and grits was best in class. The wine lovers appreciated the wine menu and their choices. Dessert was good but it was disappointing that the brownies were cold in the center. Super service and value.

    We ended up being seated behind a 4 top that had 5 people. This was also done at the next table down. We ended up moving on our own because one of the people in our party had a man that was an inch from her chair. He and his party were paying zero attention and it was ridiculous. While I understand that people are having issues with enough wait staff I still think that the restaurant should ensure a positive dining experience.

    Brunch date and it did not disappoint. The cornmeal pancakes are a must try. And don’t get me started in their Mac & cheese. Just wow!
